Manor Nursing facility gave 100% of genuine care for our mother up until her last living breath on Dec 25th. 2019 We highly recommend Heartland's professional caring team of dedicated individuals.They also located a Chaplin for us, as to deliver "Last Rights" on Dec 24th. Then on Dec. 25th, Rita with Heartland joined us to comfort us and our mom as she transitioned to heaven. Like the other reviews, I cannot say enough about the wonderful support we were given by this company. Several hours after our call, Christine was at our house to find out more about our situation. Just after midnight that same day, multiple pieces of equipment were delivered to our home and we were trained to use them by the delivery fellow. In the days following, we were visited by several other staff, including Kim who made an 'SOS' call to our house at 6am one morning when I panicked. Unfortunately, she also came over the next morning at 5am after our dad passed. She then interfaced with the funeral home and relieved us of that. Heartland / Promedica home hospice is a big NO!!! My wife (of 35 years) was in home hospice and it was a terrible experience choosing this company for my wife's final days with us. They do a fantastic sales pitch up-front and the nurse that eventually showed up after my wife passed was great but, - "everything else" was hell on earth. When she was in her final minutes of life, it took 45-minutes for somebody to answer the phone (wanted to get advice on last doses of meds), then another 1/2 hour for another person to call back .. then - another 1/2 hour for a real nurse to call. And on and on... Wow!!! In general, they never answered their phones and if you did get someone on the phone, they would likely say ...in some shape or form that it's not their responsibility and would send you back to the switchboard guy (with a recommendation) .. whom never answered the company's phone. Also, it took the company forever to deliver the care supplies needed and then, when they did show-up, it was too little too late. I spent tons of money (close to $2K) on Amazon making up for the supplies (that they promised upfront) that would never come. My husband is 58 years old. He is in the later stages of Multiple system atrophy (MSA) which is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting your body's involuntary (autonomic) functions, including blood pressure, breathing, bladder function and muscle control. There is no cure. The condition progresses gradually and eventually leads to death, usually within 7-9 years of diagnosis. He has been wheelchair bound for the last 3 years and requires assistance for every activity of daily living. As this disease was progressing we were directed to a different specialist for each system that was beginning to fail. Unable to provide a care plan his neurologist recommended that we seek comfort care. I did my research and then made what is undoubtedly the most important phone call of my life, to Heartland Hospice in Frankfurt IL. I scheduled an appointment, at my convenience to meet with a medical social worker from Heartland. The moment I shook Jamie's hand I felt as if the burden I had been struggling with alone was being lifted from my shoulders. Jamie explained to me very thoroughly but with the greatest compassion all of the services that Heartland could offer and the team strategy that would be the cornerstone of this partnership. She listened to each of my concerns and then went to work to find solutions for every single one of them, and in short order. As my husband came to know each team member we welcomed into our home I could see a peace settle in his eyes - he no longer felt that he was on a Dr's " pay no mind list", his concerns were important...again. The fear I had seen was now melding into confidence, comfort and even humor. Laura his PA, Paul his RN, Andy his massage therapist, Evan our spiritual counselor and each of his shower aides Bridget and Leslie treat him as if he is the only patient they see. They validate his feelings and relate to him as the man he is not as the disease that has stolen his independence and will eventually take his life. The care and respect that this team has shown him - at almost a year in now - has provided him immeasurable quality to his life. Having their support may have literally saved my sanity. He is in our home and will remain here as is his fervent request to do so. He has not, nor will he be subjected to a hospitalization as is his choice. Heartland arranges for all of his medication, supplies and durable equipment to be delivered to our home. Every one of our questions or concerns are answered immediately and to our satisfaction, on hours or off. I love him and therefore my standards are high. Our team at Heartland exceeds every expectation we could have imagined for this . My husband receives a quality of care I never thought possible in the medical world. The professionalism of our team is only exceeded by their humanism and we love them. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. They came out so quickly. (Valerie) She was the nicest lady who went over everything with us on what to expect and what they would do for our mom. She was so informative and true to her word. We did not have the services long as she had passed soon after however there is a nurse there Kim who I cannot say enough nice things about. She came out on May 5th because we called because our mom was so bad. She came out did her usual with the vitals and meds. Explained everything going on and stayed with us the whole day until she passed. She did not have to do that. This women is so full of love and compassion and is the person you would want around at a time like this. Kim is probably a wonderful mother, daughter ,friend wife etc. just because of the compassion she had with all of us. And there was a lot of people there.
