I tried my first HIIT class today at HEAT WAVE CROSSFIT ; it was engaging,energizing, and encouraging! The coach gave clear instructions with a demonstration. The class was designed to various levels of participation and ability, the gym and equipment were clean, and the fellow participants were friendly and kind. I was impressed by the ages of the group from 60+ down to a teenager. All had been taking the class for some time and their bodies showed strength and endurance. Welcoming. Clean. Fun. Convenient. Results. Don't wait "until you're in shape" to join a gym like this. It's a huge mistake. Group fitness will motivate you more than you realize. Joined for a few months while we had to relocate to Bullhead temporarily. Members are a mix of under 30 and over 50 and in-between. Some people in ridiculous shape, some trying to get back to healthy. If you've done Crossfit, then you know what to expect. This place is great. If you're new to Crossfit, throw out your pre-conceived negative expectations because Crossfit isn't just random guys and girls doing intimidating barbell movements. You'll push yourself, but do so comfortably. Crossfit can seem intimidating if you're new to working out, especially in a group setting or if barbells or kettlebells are new to you, but once you go, you'll see it's really not that scary. No one is going to make you put a barbell over your head (for example). That's peer pressure, but not Crossfit. There are progressions, so you can work your way up, and also, they'll modify for you if something is out of your comfort zone due to mobility, age, strength, injury, etc. Coaches are welcoming, as are the members. Best of the best, I trained for a couple months and I absolutely love it. Was my First time into the CrossFit gym, It amazed me that is only one hr. One hour what it takes to get a complete workout and that endorphins rush, No to mentioned the energy increase. I had been going to a normal gym for several years but seemed to hit a point where i did not seem to progress so gave Heatwave a try. It was amazing working out with such supportive people and the coaches are top notch. The way they treat all the members and find innovative workouts regardless of age or capability is incredible. That seems to transfer to the members who are are equally supportive. I instantly felt comfortable in a new place and started seeing a whole new way to workout. Dropped in here while i was on vacation and couldn't have been more impressed. The gym was very clean with great equipment, the athletes we're very welcoming and the coach was great.
