As luck would have it, an appointment was available to get my son in within a few days. The entire staff was professional and friendly-and made sure to explain everything they were doing while treating us like we were VIPs. I bet they treat everyone like that, but we sure felt special. Dr. Kwant was just as fabulous as I expected-he was thorough in his exam and then explanation of the procedure. He even gave us his cell phone number in case we had any issues after hours. (We didn't need to contact him, but it was a nice gesture!) My son felt at ease and was grateful to be on the other side of the tooth pain. That was my husband's experience here. We finally stopped going when I started having tooth pain from one of their fillings, and they brought a little model in to show me how a filling can end up being too deep in the tooth so the tooth splits, and how I needed a crown. Afterwards when I was left in the booth to think about the options they had given me, I realized that I could overhear the doctor giving the person in the next booth the same exact explanation, and I remembered that this is the reason my husband was given for needing crowns. I've never had this type of damage happen from any other fillings I've had from other dentists, so it's astounding that it happens so often with this practice. My next dentist just shaved the filling down to match my bite better, and it's been fine. He was also able to reapply my husband's crowns in a way that kept them in place for a couple of years, now. I was reminded of our experience here by a recent conversation, and judging by reviews the miss-handling is ongoing so I thought I'd add my piece to save the teeth of others. To be fair, all of the staff and doctors are very nice when you're there, but that doesn't change a lifetime of damaged teeth.

When I asked their answer was that it is just routine practice, and if I go against their routine practice( not let them do what they want) I should go some place else; however, this unnecessary radiation exposure to my children and Bluffdale Dental routine practice should had been explained to us before it was done to my children and not after the fact. I also asked how often children gets panoramic x-ray the doctor said about every 5 years ( assistant said every 3 to 5 years) then I asked if they had requested dental records to see last time it was done since my children are new to them( their first visit) they said NO! this is so unacceptable! what if the other dentist got this done recently; Bluffdale dental did not care enough to know this information to protect my children against unnecessary radiation exposure which can be harmful to their health. Not a sincere apology or any effort to understand the client's point of view. I am devastated. As far as the visit went my children were very impressed with how well the staff treated them.

When I showed up to my appointment I was met by Dr. Proctor who was apparently a few years out of dental school. I had to laugh and I explained to him I asked for the seasoned dentist upfront due to my fear of all things dentistry and wished us both luck. He was AWESOME! His personality is hilarious. He would joke when I needed a joke. Made me feel comfortable from minute one. We are many appointments, fillings and crowns in and he is still my all time favorite dentist and I've had many in my nearly sixty years. My permanent crown today went on so perfectly I was in and out in no time . Thank you Taylor for assisting ,you were great too. I'm so happy I just had to leave a review! We love the fact that Dr Kayne is able to take care of all our dental needs within their office without the need of a secondary doctor for root canals and crowns. Best...they have a massage chair while you wait for crowns! We have had work done by both doctors at the practice and they are top notch. Awesome chair side manner and a real desire to make you comfortable while they work. Their entire office staff are amazing to work with, are super friendly and are amazing at reminders and keeping all the financials transparent so there are no "surprise" bills or charges. I got a letter in the mail telling me that procedure would not be covered. I called the dentist and the receptionist told me to wait because they were going to appeal. They appealed and the insurance again said no because the procedure was not actually needed. Then they started hounding me to pay another $600+ and I told them to send me a bill. They sent one, I sent a check in to pay it. It has been cashed, there is proof. And yet I have gotten three more bills in the mail and text messages harassing me to pay it. I would not trust this Dentist if I were you.
