Brian and Laurel at Aquadro Photography were an incredible team to work with for my proposal shoot with my (now) fiancée. From the very beginning, their responsiveness and professionalism stood out. Despite reaching out late in the day, I received a reply within just a couple of hours. They were incredibly accommodating of my hectic schedule and quickly arranged a meeting to discuss the details. During my initial meeting with Brian, I immediately knew he was the right photographer for the moment. I shared a general vision for the proposal and mentioned that I wasn't familiar with the area. Brian went above and beyond, offering a detailed overview of several great locations and ultimately helping me choose Great Head. He sent videos, Google Map pins, and step-by-step instructions to make sure I could navigate to the location easily. He even prepared similar resources for our two backup spots in case stormy weather made reaching Great Head unsafe. Leading up to the proposal, Brian stayed in regular contact, offering tips to help make the shoot a success. As someone who had never done a professional photoshoot before, I had countless questions--many of them last-minute--and both Brian and Laurel were incredibly patient and thorough in answering them all. Brian even scheduled a video call just days before the proposal to go over everything and ensure I felt confident and prepared. On the day of the shoot, Brian arrived at Great Head at 4:30am to get everything ready ahead of our arrival at sunrise. He captured the proposal beautifully, with both sweeping landscape shots and intimate close-ups. After giving us a few quiet moments together, he joined us for a post-proposal shoot. He struck the perfect balance between letting us be ourselves and offering helpful guidance for poses and angles when needed. His creativity, eye for detail, and calm presence made an already special day even more memorable. I can't recommend Brian and Laurel highly enough. They are not only talented and professional but also genuinely kind people who helped ease my nerves and made the entire experience feel effortless. We didn't even have to ask, it was like they knew us for years!! When my partner and I, lost in the throws of romance and waterfront, got a hankering for a Classic French 75, this company, but specifically the two mentioned above, accommodated our every whim with a smile! They were politely masked, consciously distanced, and professional as can be! They had all tables, chairs, linens and everything else we needed to accommodate the 150 people that were there. I initially chose Cleftstone simply because it was the only reasonable option that I could find in Bar Harbor on the specific dates that I would be visiting Acadia National Park. I figured it was a gamble with a last minute reservation, but it ended up being a perfect accommodation for our short visit. The location is ideal as it was easy to find, but just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor. Most afternoons we actually just walked from the B&B to the main strip with all of the shops and restaurants. It was a breeze to get to the entrance of Acadia National Park as well! The room (Acadia Park) and detached private bathroom were clean and cozy. Considering the house is over 100 years old, I was satisfied with the ability to charge our iPhones and iPad with relative ease. The aesthetic was quaint and felt like you'd stepped back in time to the late 19th century. The mansion might be haunted--I sensed something but didn't have time to hunt any ghosts. Haha! The service was lovely. Our room and bathroom were tidied up during the day while we were adventuring in the park. Filling and hearty--that is what to expect every morning for breakfast! Plus a side of hospitality. Breakfast time in the dining room was a lovely event in which we got to interact a bit more with our host, Anne. She was lovely and recommended we take our muffins in a doggy bag. I was so grateful for her tip a few hours later when I was starving out on the trails.
