Since it was a pleasant evening, I decided to sit on the patio and take in the crisp, cool air. I was surprised at how extensive the menu was with a ton of seasonal options and chef recommendations. I started with a wine tasting flight which allowed me to pick any four wines I wanted to sample. I was hungry, but not starving, so I opted to start with the grilled halloumi toastie, which was essentially a sophisticated open-face grilled cheese. The halloumi was salty and tangy, and paired well with the fresh pesto. Still hungry after my toastie, I decided to order the fresh seared scallops. These were some of the most mouthwatering and delicious scallops I have ever had in my life. Everything about this inn and especially the restaurant, the Bowspirit, was incredible. The service was friendly and attentive, warm and welcoming. Even if you are not staying at this accommodation, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend giving the Bowspirit a try.

Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Large portions, excellent presentation and at a price I expect to pay at a five-star restaurant on the coast of Maine. What I feel is the highlight of our experience at the Chart Room was the staff. Everything started with James the General Manager and Jamie, the Booking Manager. We appreciate all their help before we even arrived there. There were several members of the wait staff that were amazing as well. Some that we've seen each season when we visit. The lazy lobster option is always appreciated by vacation goers. I went with the halibut. I really like halibut and this was my favorite halibut filet I've had. The carrots were also bigger than most carrots I have had in my life. The fries were an awesome complementary side. I ate everything on my plate and enjoyed every second of the food coma I was in the rest of the night. Our waitress was attentive to our dietary needs. She was very passionate and informative about the seafood offerings. The halibut I had was from the Maine waters, which is a rarer due to the limited time US fishermen can get halibut. Everything about Harbour Cottage Inn from start to finish was perfect. The check-in was seamless and I was greeted warmly while being shown around the property. My room was clean and spacious with a large comfortable bed and soft linens. The bathroom had all the necessary toiletries and the shower had ample water pressure. I appreciated all of the little touches from the afternoon sweet treats in the common area to the thoughtful breakfast dishes. I appreciated the endless supply of coffee and the fresh lemon water. It was wonderful to sit and enjoy breakfast on the patio as well as an evening meal when the dining area turned into the Bowspirit. All of the meals were absolutely phenomenal and some of the best I had while visiting Maine. I would not hesitate to come back and stay here again. Preferably sooner rather than later! The accommodation was top-notch, and the hospitality was superb.

Giving this stay a #3 because maybe rooms on the third floor were more quiet, but seriously one of our worst B&B experiences ever. The room was clean, and bed was comfortable, just couldn't enjoy it. I would think if you own a B&B and feel the need to own a dog, too, you need to think of your guests first. I'm thinking that dog was alone until 10:30 and the owners showed up.

When I told the owner that I needed a meal with no sugar, She reprimanded me several times and let me know I should've given her way more advanced notice. The menu for breakfast that first day was filled with sugar. Pancakes, muffins, fruit with sorbet etc. I requested two eggs with some vegetables. Nothing elaborate. The owner again reprimanded me. I explained I was diabetic. The next morning I was given the cold shoulder by the female owner I believe her name was Jennifer. My friend and I noticed the extreme difference in how we were treated. If you have any special food requests or allergies, I do not recommend this place. It seems absolutely out of her comfort sound to think outside the box. My friend and I had a very uncomfortable stay at this Inn. My friend and I requested the fruit which was offered on the menu just omitting the Sorbet But that was way too much to ask .
