These folks catered an incredibly gorgeous wedding hosted at French's Point, Maine. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond expectations were remarkable. Nikki, our bartender, and a British gentleman (his name escaping me now is evidence of Nikki's efficacy) were so dedicated to our happiness. All meals were prepared with extra attention toward my gluten allergy. On night one separate plates with home made gluten free Mac n cheese were brought to us when we were ready to sit. We didn't even have to ask, it was like they knew us for years!! When my partner and I, lost in the throws of romance and waterfront, got a hankering for a Classic French 75, this company, but specifically the two mentioned above, accommodated our every whim with a smile! They were politely masked, consciously distanced, and professional as can be! Though we only spent a few total hours in each other's company over three days, they learned our names, our tastes, and our personalities! Bar Harbor Catering Company did a fantastic job creating a seasonal welcome dinner for our group of hikers renting a house in Bar Harbor. Everyone agreed their lobster rolls were the best ever! We also enjoyed excellent clam chowder, a lovely salad and blueberry pie. They were also very accommodating about providing a vegan meal for one of us. Thank you! read more

Finding a caterer for my wedding was probably the thing that scared me the most when I was planning. My husband and I are both vegan, so we knew we'd want all vegan food at our wedding. However, we were planning from far away, so not being able to go to tastings or meet with caterers adds an extra challenge. BHHC went absolutely above and beyond to ensure our food was nothing short of spectacular. Jennifer was always very responsive to my likely obnoxious amount of questions and menu changes! On the day of, since it was a small affair, we were able to get the food dropped off and also borrow some warmers and trays. She even came and picked them up the next day. The food was absolutely delicious. I didn't have a single complaint about how anything turned out. I couldn't have been happier with the service we received and how accommodating they were with our somewhat unique request. read more

She is very organized, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about food, planning, and the MDI region. She's so down to earth and really cares about the quality of her food. Mandy catered our wedding in August, 2016 and it was flawless. My husband and I are both food professionals and several guests were Boston restaurateurs. I also used to manage weddings for Boston caterers. So expectations were high. We also chose a menu that was fairly complex with bouillabaisse and steak frite. Both dishes were perfectly prepared, even while cooking in a field kitchen in a barn. Service staff were great, and Mandy and Jennifer were wonderful in the planning. Mandy and her team helped to save our "marriage in a maelstrom!" We were married during a terrible storm and Mandy's staff were so kind and helpful to us and all our guests during the madness; they held curtains and umbrellas, rushed around in the rain, made sure my husband and I both ate a full meal and helped us stay on schedule. They also did set-up and clean-up for us. She served a fabulous Ottolenghi-inspired dinner that I had requested but the food was beyond what I had dreamed of. Our guests and friends are still talking about it and it was bar far my favorite food I've ever had at a wedding. Everything was absolutely delicious and she did a great job of providing a dairy-free meal with lots of GF and Vegan options. A guest told me this was the most food she'd ever been able to eat at a wedding, usually it's so hard to attend events as a person with dietary restrictions. We were never able to attend a tasting, which was nerve-wracking, but I needn't have worried. She made a difficult situation into a magical and unforgettable experience, for which I will be forever grateful. read more

Just wanted to give a big shout out to Bar Harbor Catering Company! I am a wedding planner (fern & flair weddings and events) and worked on my first wedding with them this past weekend. Meg was leading the event and did a fantastic job. Meg and the whole team were on top of everything. Helping put the final details together and fulfilling all of the wedding party and my requests. There is not one critique I would have for them. The performance and service seemed flawless. Not to mention the food was amazing. All the guests loved it including the vendors. Definitely one of the most professional companies I have had the opportunity to work with. They really went above and beyond going out of their way to add special service like bringing plates of appetizers on the trolley for the wedding party who had to go off to photos during cocktail hour.
