He is a board certified pulmonologist and also has a speciality in critical care medicine. He had a welcoming, calming demeanor, and saw me daily while I was hospitalized. After discharge I saw him at his office for followup as I was having shortness of breadth. His staff were efficient in setting up an appointment as a new patient and also gave me some mini breathing tests. He was an attentive listener, both in the hospital and his office. He never gave me the impression that he was rushing in and out of my hospital room. This is a critical issue when hospitalized. He is well trained and respected and well known by his colleagues at BRRH. If you have any pulmonary issues, or family members develop them, I would highly recommend him. You won't be disappointed.

I understand the difficulties of the pandemic, however I have had appointments with other doctors and they seem able to keep up with their patients. I called in February and was told her March calendar wasn't ready. I asked if they could call me when it was ready and they said no, call back in March. I eventually called in May and got an appointment for an in-person visit June 1. That morning I received a call cancelling my appointment and offering me a visit the next day with a PA or a tele-visit the following week with the Dr. When I explained that there were changes in my condition that I thought necessitated a Dr to listen to my lungs, I was told June was booked. When I complained, the receptionist complained to me that the office contacted her over her holiday weekend and she didn't like being bothered. I understand that emergencies arise, but to inform me I can't see the Dr for the whole month is unacceptable. Obviously I will be going to a different pulmonologist, one who will actually see patients.

Dr Toma was treating my sister in the hospital in January 2018 for extreme pneumonia. She almost…read moredied until a friend doctor suggested an antibiotic that was not tried. She was on the hospital for 5 weeks then went to rehab for 4 weeks. She went back to doctor Toma three times. Once in February, no scan was done, then in June a ct scan was done of her lungs he said he only saw scar tissue. She went back in September no scan was taken and he said she sounded good and sent on her way. October 23 she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer that had matasisized to her brain and she needed brain surgery and still has a hugh mass in her lung inoperable. It has aggressively spread to other parts of her body. Her prognosis is not very long to live. If dr Toma could have caught this in her lung she would have a different life expectancy. This doctor and his group are incompetent and not into the science of saving lives. I would sue him if she had the time to do so but she doesn't and the strength. I will tell you from the bottom of my heart to stay away from this group

When I've never had any allergies or hives before. Come to find out after seeing 6 different doctors and finding one that would actually listen me to me it was SCABIES.
