I like to try and find a more unique birthday pastry for my wife each year. Then I started getting cupcakes because we can get a variety of flavors and it's easier to share than a cake. I searched a few different sites, it can be hard judging cupcakes just by a website, and frankly it surprises me that in today's digital world people still have such awful websites. I landed on Heaven Cupcakes because their website and social media profiles are up to date and look great with a variety of cupcake designs. I chose to go with a 3 flavor variety pack of 12, and I emailed to ask if they would do something special on just 1 of the cupcakes for my wife. I wasn't doing a custom order so I was just thinking I'd get 12 cupcakes with standard frosting and then maybe 1 with something special. The box got here this morning and OMG, they are beautiful. They had asked what my wife may like and I mentioned she's pregnant and really into Lucky Charms. The cupcakes look like a classy, fashionista blend of flowers, fashion and Lucky Charms. Dry dry cupcakes. Very overpriced for what you get. Tried the Snickerdoodle and was surprised at how dry it was. Maybe the designs will be ok, but you cannot make up for such a bad bake. How a company handles mistakes shows a lot about their character and integrity. A refund on the full custom portion should have been given. What should have been a sincere apology turned into an online battle between patrons and the owner. It was very clear what was promised was not delivered. I worked with Ellie and she was responsive and very helpful. I loosely described the vision I had for the cupcake decoration and provided my client's website link so that Heaven Cupcake could see the color scheme I wanted. The cupcakes were delivered this morning and my client was amazed by the "works of art," as he described them. Ellie sent me a photograph of the cupcakes and they far exceeded my expectations. Celebrated my dog's one year adopt-iversary this week (in Arizona) - but many of our friends are in Salt Lake City. So I wanted to do something to include them in our little party. Found Heaven Cupcake and contacted them to see what they could do to help us make it special. Ellie was SO helpful, suggested some flavors and then asked me to send a picture of my dog's outfit, so they could "match" it. We went with a variety of red velvet, strawberry, cherry limeade and lemon cupcakes - and they did a VERY colorful frosting with little bones on top! They were absolutely perfect and everybody who got to enjoy them, gave RAVE reviews! If I had only gotten to try them myself, maybe I could've given them six stars! The customer service here is fantastic! Always kind, accommodating, very quick to respond and always on time with the deliveries. I use them every year to deliver cupcakes to my father who is in assisted living facility. I never have to worry about him not receiving his cupcakes and balloons on his special day. He loves them! I'm out of state and wanted something nice delivered for an event. I placed my order 29 hours in advance, more than the 24-hour notice requirement (although the website says they will deliver at shorter notice for an additional $10). I waited for the phone call from them to confirm the order and get payment information. I waited. And waited... Nineteen hours later, I was finally contacted (via email, not phone) only to be told that they'd decided NOT to fill my order. The excuse they gave was that my order was "on short notice" and they were really, really busy. My order was not placed on short notice, so that was a lie. Perhaps no one there bothered to check the online orders until late this morning. Perhaps there is another reason. Nevertheless, "bad business practices" doesn't begin to cover it. Their belated response made it impossible for me to find another caterer in time for the event, and that is inexcusable. My advice? Don't contact Heaven Cupcake if professionalism and dependability is important to you. read more
