The staff appeared to be auditioning for "World's Most Miserable Employees," with one particular team member radiating the kind of customer service energy that screams "How dare you interrupt my personal drama by wanting to buy something." The atmosphere was so welcoming, I half-expected them to charge a cover fee just for breathing their air. Apparently, having customers at a restaurant is just a massive inconvenience - who knew? I optimistically ordered both a regular and large cinnamon roll, because when you're already committed to disappointment, why not go big? The "small" one I sampled was less "cinnamon roll" and more "sad bread cosplaying with diabetes-inducing frosting." If this flavorless, overpriced disappointment represents heaven on earth, then what does hell look like? Please save yourself and your taste buds. HoE is my favorite place to eat on my way to California. The food reminds me of growing up in a household where the food was solid and this may sound goofy but made with love and family in mind. It's been many years since I've eaten here. The food is still excellent. Today I ate the chili burger with potatoes. I should have told the waiter to hold the potatoes as there was more food than I could eat. Their coffee is good too. Service was fast and efficient. Upon entering, it is truly a delightful entry full of freshly canned and pickled goods from jams, jellies, pickles to so much more. Great for gifts to loved ones back home or just to store and save as novelty pantry items. We selected a regular sized cinnamon bun topped with hazelnuts and super delicious perfectly iced and not too sweet frosting. We highly regretted not bringing more with us. The omelette was perfectly cooked and perfectly browned home fried taters. Came with a choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. We frequent this place every time we drive North on I-5 through Oregon. They are known for their Huge Cinnamon Rolls. But I have to say I stop for the Chocolate dipped macaroons. This is a down home place we stopped while traveling to Medford. The people are super nice as far as food, I think it depends on what you get. Be aware that these baked goods are not marked with prices. We bought 2 pieces of large chocolate cake and a set of 6 macaroons. I was surprised when they rang it up and told me it would be close to $31. My Boyfriend's cake was dry; my daughter's piece was better. I like coconut but the coconut macaroons were too coconutty for us We stopped the next weekend and did get 3 of the smaller cinnamon rolls. If I had to rate just these, I would give them a perfect 5. Fantastic food and great customer service!!! Went with my wife and mother in-law and by all accounts every thing was fabulous. I had the patty melt, my wife had bacon and eggs and my mother in-law had the biscuits and gravy. Good size servings and filling enough where, with the exception of myself, leftovers came home in a to go box. Think Mrs. Clause baking all year long! There are two ovens placed right in the middle of the restaurant/bakery area where nothing but yummy goodness is made. The walls are lined with the biggest cinnamon roles you'll ever see! They have many different canned fruity and fun jellies-- oh and much much more. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we did get some goods for the road (pumpkin bread pudding and a small cinnamon roll (still bigger than my huge hand!) and as I was walking out one of the employees gave me a $10 box of cookies- ok that's cool! Yes... I ate them all... alone... no judgment!! :) I didn't stay long, but it was a very awesome place that is filled with happiness, love, and goodies! We have recently discovered Heaven on Earth, and it has quickly become folded into our weekend rotation of breakfast places. The staff is kind, helpful, and efficient. The food is delicious, and while we haven't yet tried a cinnamon bun, they look delightful. One seems enough to feed a family of eight, but they look delicious! It's a bit of a hike from Roseburg...it takes us about thirty minutes (give or take five minutes), but the drive is gorgeous. Heaven on Earth Bakery Atmosphere: The Heaven on Earth Bakery is located right on the side of the highway. You take the exit and no more than half a mile you stumble upon it. The outside is like a log cabin, while inside has the old rustic vibes of a local mom and pop diner. I love the log cabin look for every restaurant and house. The exterior has letters that say "Heaven on Earth Bakery, the best cinnamon rolls". There is plenty of parking on both sides and it does look like it fills up. While I struggle with thinking anywhere has "the best" and I've been to dozens of diners claiming to be "the best" at something, I do like the idea of a restaurant claiming it because that means they believe they work hard at whatever they are the best in. It also means they take pride in it. Inside the Heaven on Earth Bakery is an entire restaurant and store. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted with take-out dessert options like their famous cinnamon rolls, pie, pastries, and cake. If you just want dessert, you don't need to walk more than 5 feet into the restaurant to purchase it. They also sell several different jams and jellies, as well as merchandise. You don't even need to go into the actual restaurant portion to get dessert or merchandise. When you walk in further, you get to the actual restaurant where they have a full dining area like any other diner. It has plenty of seating with booths and tables and outdated curtains. Heaven on Earth Bakery Food: I had one mission at Heaven on Earth Bakery and that was to stop for the cinnamon roll. It was the middle of the day and I wasn't hungry so I didn't need a full meal. I wish the timing had worked out better because the Heaven on Earth Bakery has an entire sit-in restaurant with plenty of options like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you know me, you know I like frosting as much as the actual dessert (if not more). My mentality is the more frosting, the better. I ate my cinnamon roll later that day when we arrived at our destination and it was great. Even as a to-go cinnamon roll, I was highly impressed with how well it was baked. The inside was soft but the outside was crunchy. It was cooked perfectly. It was extremely tasty and could be two meals in itself (not for me though). The hostess was extremely friendly and chatted with us for a little while. We were not the only people in there but she made it feel like we were. I haven't had great service like that in a while, let alone for a simple cinnamon roll order. Heaven on Earth Bakery Cost: For the Heaven on Earth Bakery cinnamon roll, the cost was $6.99. It's definitely a more expensive cinnamon roll, but it could be two meals or desserts for someone. (That someone is not me, though). Heaven on Earth Bakery Conclusion/Would I Come Back? Are the Heaven on Earth Bakery cinnamon rolls the best? I don't have an answer, but they are extremely good and worth the stop. They are in the top 5 cinnamon rolls I've ever had. After seeing Heaven on Earth on our way north, we had to stop on our return trip to try the cinnamon rolls. The ladies st the counter were so polite, friendly, helpful, and mindful of distancing. I opted for the family size cinnamon roll, which they cut, warmed, added a dollop of butter on top, and packaged in a carrier bag with enough forks, LOTS of napkins, and saltwater taffy for my kids.
