It's hard to find and trust a stylist with your hair, but when you do so you trust them with your image! With that being said after my stylist moved away I neglected my hair extremely and after a refferal and lots of research decided to give heavenly hair a try! When I called you could tell they were busy (which is always good) but they dealt with me quickly and were very accommodating. I booked my appointment with Saundra who squeezed me in for the very next day. When I got to her my hair was a dry mess that I hadn't touched in a few days, Saundra took her time to nurture my hair and brought my hair back to life. After that she cut and styled my hair and sent me home with heads turning! Good salon. A little bit pricey or maybe I'm just not used to going to salons? I had a trim and dye on a twa (teeny weeny afro)- $97. They do not accept the yelp coupon ($50 for $100). So don't purchase the deal without calling first. I'm happy I asked first, otherwise I would have been very upset. If there is an advertised coupon the company should accept it. I think that's just fair business practice. It's not the customers fault. Overall i like my hair. My stylist was Saundra. She's really nice! They are a black salon, so natural girls should feel comfortable. I saw 2 other women getting a press and curl and a weave. This was the worst hair styling experience I have ever had. The salon was clean and inviting enough and they saw me without an appointment and that was nice but the hair stylist that I saw Sandra, gave me a weave, color and bob hair cut that was all wrong. First the weave job showed all my wefts and braids, it was bulky with large gaps between the tracks. The color she dyed my hair was supposed to be a 27 blond but it was copper brown, the bob a line cut I asked for was not even or blended it was chopped in two parts and it looked lopsided. I had missing space around the side of my head and she charged me 200 dollars for this style. I felt ugly and unconfirmed I put my 40 dollar wig back on after leaving the shop. When I asked to have it redone I was harassed by this woman until I felt so uncomfortable that I didn't go back. This lady does old school weaving technique like it was still the 90's read more

I went to Phenix Salon and spent a lot of money, time, and trouble on Latrice. Had I known about Robbie, who is very skilled, personable, professional, and far more reasonably priced, I would've went here instead. I got a press and curl for half the price of Latrice that has lasted three times as long. I called at the last minute and she was nice enough to fix my hair. They're salon is nice, spacious, jazz music was playing, and they have customer appreciation days where you can get discounts (ask when). Definitely recommend Robbie and this Salon for your local African American haircare needs (not just for AA peoples hair though haha, of course). read more

So I wanted to wait about a month before reviewing so I could have a full opinion of my hair. I came to get box braids by Sandra and I must say that I LOVE them. Sandra herself is so sweet and so are the other stylists! It's a very welcoming environment. Now my braids look amazing and she even helped me pick a color style. She graciously accommodated my sister in law and myself (at the very last minute) and SLAYED both heads of hair hair. My natural mid back length was laid to the gods. I am a past customer of Ms. Sonya. When I called for my first appointment, I explained to her my concerns. I asked her not to randomly cut my hair and I would bring my own supplies at no cost to her. She said I will buy what you want. I agreed. The first visit, she did a beautiful job I don't know if the is the protocol in Heavenly Hair Salon, but if it is, the owner, Ms. Jesslyn, should make sure her hair dresser keep to their word because this reflect on the whole solon. I noticed the texture of my hair changing but I figured it was because I was paying for a deep conditioner faithfully monthly for over a year. I noticed, lately, she had just started cutting trying to correct her mistake. My husband started telling my, my hair was thinning and I noticed it started breaking. It appeared she had been taking the cheap way out on everything. I noticed she would, after relaxing my hair, spray alcohol holder and out me under the dryer after my hair stated breaking which made it worst. I communicated to her what was going on. She offered to put a deep conditioner on it, which was what I had been paying her for all the time. Come to find out, when I asked her was she putting lye in my hair, should would not give me a direct answer. She quoted " I have been putting the same thing in your hair all the time which told me she did not tell the truth and clearly ignored my request. I started not to say anything, but was not going to ever let her touch my hair. However, I can't do that to a future client. Once your hair is damaged, it is damaged until it grows out again. She was very apologetic and even offered me my money back from that night! She really made me feel better about the situation and made things right!
