My partner booked a couples deep tissue massage at Heavenly Massage through Groupon, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. My partner paid almost $300, so we were expecting a relaxing and professional service. My massage therapist was Angie. At the beginning of the session I politely asked for an extra pillow for support while laying on my stomach, and she immediately seemed irritated by the request. The pillow she gave me did not have a hole for me to breathe through. From that point on, the massage itself did not feel like a deep tissue massage at all. It mostly felt like lotion being lightly rubbed on my back rather than any real muscle work. When I asked if she could apply more pressure, instead of adjusting the technique she repeatedly pressed her elbow into the same area, which became painful rather than helpful. It felt like the same spot was being worked over and over instead of a proper massage. Since this was a couples massage, my partner was in the room with me and even he could tell that I was uncomfortable during the session even his massage therapist Emma seen I was uncomfortable and she tried to lighten the mood. I still tried to be a good sport and finish the massage because he had spent so much money on the experience and I didn't want to ruin the moment. Afterward I shared my concerns with the manager. I was told that Angie has "never received a complaint before," which made my feedback feel dismissed. I was also offered a coupon, which I declined because I wasn't looking for a discount or a free service. I simply wanted to share my experience as a customer. Started coming here 2 years ago when a friend gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. Since then I have this place as part of my self care. When it comes to massages I love doing a 90 min massage with Katrina. She gives a very therapeutic massage. I like to feel relaxed during my massage while relieving tension and not be in pain. Kathy does excellent facials and is highly knowledgeable. Anastasia keeps my brows looking good and I am very picky about my eyebrows because I do not want them to be too thin. We came here to get a wedding anniversary massage and we're super excited they had a late appointment for us to come to. The place was clean however the massages were basically an hour of rubbing softly with oil. The best part was the back massage I'll give them that. Certain parts of my body was in awkward positions to massage. The only reason I didn't have her to stop was because it sounded like my husband was getting a better massage. I bought a Groupon to this place for my mom and I. "90 minute Swedish or Deep tissue massage with Aromatherapy and a steam shower with aromatherapy enhancements", that was what I bought. Original price per Groupon was $330 and I got it for $230. A little pricey - that's $1 per minute of massage. My mom and I arrived at 10 on the dot. We were greet a few minutes later by the front desk clerk and then a few minutes later 2 women greeted us and said they would do our massage. We were taken to a room and after set up our massage started about 10:15/10:20. The massage itself was great. I almost couldn't even get up after she was done. I was confused though because there was no aromatherapy there and it wasn't offered but it was part of the Groupon I purchased. When we were finished they asked if we wanted a shower, of course we did - I was looking forward to a steam shower with aromatherapy enhancements. We got to the showers and once again, no aromatherapy. She turned it on for me and showed me how to use the steam. It was nice, I stayed in there for about 20 min. Overall, the staff was nice. The massage was great, the shower felt good. I was slightly disappointed that I had no aromatherapy though because it was definitely part of the package I purchased. It was a nice surprise from my husband! My mom and I went for a spa day. My mom received the massage which she highly recommended. She has lower back aches and she said the massage definitely relieved some pressure. I received the facial....my first facial and I was so excited I never realized how painful it was going to be. The lady who did my facial was nice but when it came to start popping my blackheads, I felt a few tears falling. I have very sensitive skin so maybe my experience was a bit more uncomfortable than normal. The mani-pedi was ok. Nothing special, my manicure is already chipping. I received a no chip manicure here on my birthday, it was a Friday. The very next day my polish was discoloring and coming off around the edges. Though Elena the nail tech was pleasant and thorough, the product used appeared to be sub par. This is the first time in over 25 years of getting my nails done that I ever had to complain and ask for them to be redone. On Monday I called to inquire about getting them done and they gave me an appointment. When I arrived they continually accused me of "you must have been touching something", you must have been rubbing something on your nails" just completely distasteful and disrespectful service. Ive visited HM over the years and have always had positive experiences. I have also never requested a specific massage therapist; I was more concerned about having an hour relaxation session, instead of who was doing it. OH BOY WAS I WRONG. I've noticed that in the salons that prefer this, the spectrum of the service has ranged from not-the-greatest to okay-what-gives?-you-made-my-finger-bleed-during-the-damn-manicure-and-then-proceeded-to-blame-me-for-it. 2) both my friend's and my massage chairs did not work. Heavenly massage is a terrific place for massages, nail care, waxing, etc. I've gone there for a year, for eye waxing, pedicure, and manicure. Gina is the best at what she does. She does everything at Heavenly Massage. She is so experienced and terrific at what she does. She is compassionate and highly friendly. She has greatly customer service. All of the people that work there, especially Josie!! I feel at home there. I never got a massage there yet , but I'm planning it very soon. They have terrific specials all the time. When told specifically that I wanted a massage typically focused on my upper back because of adhesion ache, she proceeded to give me an almost full body massage... wasting time on arms, legs... even when I reminded mid session, I don't think she even understood. Stones were under whole body & she came in once in awhile to switch out the cooling ones: 2 stones down back, across shoulders, across waist, arms legs, solar plexes. Photos on net of this one. She cut eyebrows to rough stubble after I said not to, let it lay flat & fill in. Then tells me not enough hair. It looks manly sticking up instead smooth silky. Same with manipedi, don't cut short & wider French tip. Skin shows at ends & sore from filing skin with nail, white tip exactly 1/8". Looks like amateur. Been coming for years as minutes away. Every time we go for couples manipedi now for couple years we are never sitting together even when empty but us & one other. No longer fun to do. They don't wear name tags so can't get same one. The accents have become impossible to communicate anything. Used to be light to understand. Maybe that's strategy, if can't converse a little it's faster get more in/out. They need to keep your file with names of ones you like for next time. Used to have two girls doing a manipedi. This place is great until something goes wrong. Dorie the manager is completely unprofessional. The front desk person who booked my appointment booked me for the wrong date and day. I work 12 hours a day between 2 jobs and have very limited free time. I booked a massage for a couple hours before a flight I had to catch. I had some free time in the morning and wanted to treat myself to a massage. I came in on my appointment time and they told me my appointment was for the next day. I know specifically that I would not have booked this day since I would be out of state and knew about this months ago. Dorie continued to argue with me and blame me for making the mistake of writing down the wrong day/time given to me. She said when booking they always repeat the date twice over the phone and I told her if I would've heard the 26th the first time I would've told them that wasn't the correct date let alone twice in one phone call. They messed up. They didn't offer to fix it or do anything for me because of their mistake so I will not be back. They do not have good customer service at all. read more

I had a lot of issues dealing with their sister location in Schaumburg. I was nervous coming in- as it was a groupon gift from Christmas. I didn't know what to expect after having so many problems over the phone with the other location. I was SO relieved once I arrived and saw what good hands I was in. Barbara did an amazing job with my massage. I loved every single moment of it. I'll definitely be booking with her in the future!!! My husband loved his masseuse as well. We have been going here for years and only went to the Mt. Prospect location as we had bad experiences at the other locations. The massages are always wonderful but it is after that has really got bad. We had couple massages on 2-14-20 for 90 minutes which were wonderful but after that it all fell apart. The steamer in the shower kept shutting off turned on the shower and had no hot water and when i grabbed `the bar in the shower it fell off the wall so i gave up and got out of the shower. Looked for deodorant nope not anymore, in fact we had no supplies in the washroom. Really disappointed i guess it has become get your massage and go home. I decided to treat myself a bit and get a massage and facial. I had a coupon for $40 for a 45 minute massage and I saw that their European facial as only $60. Sounds too good to be true...well it is! I went on a Wednesday afternoon at 11. Assuming it would be dead so I would have a peaceful and attentive experience. When I got there, they made me pay immediately (which I thought was incredibly odd but whatever). I had my facial first. The women led me to a room. She spoke very broken English but wasn't too terribly hard to understand. I layed down on the bed, relaxing music was played, wrapped in a blanket, etc... My ethetician (SP?) didn't speak to me the entire time. I am used to them telling me what they are about to do or are doing. She started doing my extractions (which aren't the most pleasant) but she was incredibly rough. I literally was in pain at one point. She pushed, prodded and pinched my face. Then she ran some electrical tool over my face which shocked me a few times (but she didn't warn me at all). Once the hour of torture was over, she gave me a mirror to look at my face. I was horrified! My face looked swollen, bloodied and bruised. I was shocked and her only response was "it will go down, you have very sensitive skin and a lot of blackheads". OK, I know my skin isn't perfect, but I know that's not true. She said the redness would go down the next day, well its been 48 hours and I have scabs, redness and irritation still. I feel like I went to a butcher. I would give the facial a 0 but that's not possible. The massage was nothing to write home about. I got the 45 minute deep tissue. It felt more like a mediocre rub down at best. I requested firm pressure but oh well...I suppose I could have spoken up. However, and I could this could be a long shot, but I swear every time she pumped lotion into her hand, she was adding minutes to the alarm clock in there because I was awake the whole time and I REALLY do not think that was a full 45 minutes. All and all, the place was pretty clean, the robes were dingy, the ethetician (SP?) was a butcher and massage therapist was incredibly dainty with her technique. I WOULD NOT recommend this place. I love getting massages here. I've had a few different masseuses at this location, and they've all been professional and good at their jobs. The rooms are kept at a comfortable temperature, and the music is calm and soothing. The manicures and pedicures are not as consistent. There seems to be more variety with nails, depending on who you get. I haven't had a BAD mani or pedi here, but some have been very different from others. I also wish they used the music from the massage rooms instead of what sounds like a 90's Lite FM mix tape. The owner of the chain is here sometimes, and he's very friendly. It's always nice to see hands-on management! Parking is easy, there are a plethora of magazines in the lobby and nail areas, and the bathrooms are spic and span. I got tired of the Heavenly Massage in Morton Grove, so I thought maybe a location switch would do the trip...ugh, regrets! I arrive on time, to be told there would be a little wait, fine, sat down and waited. I thought in the mean time I'll run to the rest room. I ask the manager at the front desk where it was and she told me down the hall and then asks "Do you really have to go? We like it quiet for others while they are getting their massages." Well I wasn't planning on being loud, nor did I plan to chase up and down the hall, so wtf! Rude! Already put me in a bad mood, so much for "spa". 20 min later, one of the gracious polish ladies walks out stating she can help me. She was the same one I saw sitting and gossiping with another lady, while on my trip to the restroom. Soooo, 20 min wait was unnecessary, 2nd ugh. I sit down, the lady is staring at my wedding rings, and when she notices I'm looking at her, she quickly glances away. She did this, ohhh about 20 times. The mani pedi sucked, flat out. She rushed so quickly, she was done in about 40 minutes. No scrubbing of feet or massaging, just chop chop to get me in & out. I dont know if to blame the technician or the supected management for telling them to rush. Nailpolish is old, they continue to add nailpolish remover to thin out aging polish, or for there to be enough of it to finish your hands. Seriously, I'm paying $50, you think you could spare the $8 bottle of Essie that will do about 20+ mani's? Cheap-o's! As a going away present, two of my work besties scheduled the three of us for a pedicure together. They specified there would be three of us when they set the appointment and the front desk was aware of this when I got there first. So, why did they start a pedicure about 5 min before our scheduled time, and put her in one of the middle chairs? There was no way the three of us could sit next to each other and talk. And though one of my friends was about 25 minutes late, the other woman's pedi still wasn't done when she got there, so we were forced to talk over her - and she was obviously not appreciating that. In addition, even though there were NO OTHER PEDICURE appointments or walk-ins at that time, the front desk people hassled us a bit about when my late friend was getting there. We weren't taking a spot from anyone else, since there WASN'T anyone else. This had been my go-to pedi place, but though the front desk people specified they are the only location that is locally owned, I'm not sad to have to leave them. Had I been staying in the area, that would have been my last visit given their treatment this last time. I've been here for a 1hr massage. I didn't pay attention to my masseuse's name, but i believe she's polish, short dark hair, wears glasses. This is a review on her, not the business. The appointment started good, with a warm-up. I told her i wanted her to focus on my shoulders. And that's what she started with. Although she went on to give a full body massage and i had to remind her that i want more work in my shoulders... However, what bothered me the most were her nails!!!! I got the mani & pedi for $30 (first customer coup). I had a girl on my feet and another on my hands. Wham bam thank you mam. It took about an hour for the entire experience. My nails haven't looked this good in a while and my feet are so soft and creamy. Much needed after pummeling them when I run.
