This place is always offering a warm welcome and the staff is so knowledgeable. I'm on the email listing and get updates on the new options or the lists for the cooking nights. I'd like to go to one in the future. The oils are very heart healthy and they offer a listing of what to pair with them and how to use them. First, I'd like to kick Rachael Ray in the face for referring to Olive Oil as EVOO. This is the Guitar Center of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Lots of stuff on the walls to try, most you will never need or buy. You walk in and along the wall there is a row of olive oil containers with spickets. An isle of the same in the middle of the store full of balsamic vinegar. I was really hoping for regional European olive oils, Laudemio, Marfuga, etc... I would no longer have to drive to Leawood to buy Olive Oil. But no. Every oil here is intensely flavored with something. There's really no point to using olive oil at all. They should use vegetable oil to cut down on price. There is no way to distinguish if it's extra virgin, or cold pressed, etc... The same is true for the Balsamic. I am a Balsamic purist. I despise the cheap blends of red wine vinegar with sugar added then passed off as Balsamic on the poor, hapless, masses. I like the 16 year and older stuff, -aged until it's syrup. No quality aged Balsamic vinegar for the purist here. Don't be a food snob. I really try not to be a food snob. I tasted everything while the owners carefully watched(I sensed, desperately hoping I'd make a purchase because no one else before me had). During the uncomfortable exchange I tried to like something. They were very nice folks. All of the products were very good as long as you get out of the mindset that you are not shopping for Acetaia Malpighi of Modena. You might actually enjoy a lot of the products. I purchased the Cinnamon Pear balsamic. My favorite of the lot. It seems like a very good quality vinegar and I have found it to be excellent on a number of fish dishes. This place is highly specialized and you wonder how they can do enough business to survive. Now that I've acquired a taste for the balsamic/pear vinegar I hope they succeed and stick around for awhile. read more

Loved the samples! The rows of silver cisterns greet you as you enter, and little plastic cups are available to help yourself to samples of rich olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The staff was very friendly (sometimes overly so), but they mixed several oil/vinegar mixtures for us to try along with providing us some freedom to roam around and try the different varieties. The Tuscan Blend olive oil was a favorite - has great flavor and I use it frequently as a drizzle over dishes. I also enjoyed the Tangerine along with the Cherry balsamic vinegars. You can mix and match to make your own wonderful flavor concoctions here....blackberry balsamic with Tuscan olive oil, yes, I think so. This place is very user friendly--you can taste all the various oils and vinegars and then the staff will fill bottles for you to take home. My wife and I found this place by accident. There was an excitment on the face of what I could only assume was one of the owners. I don't know if it was because we were the only customers that had been there all day or she is that excited for all their customers. Either way, I liked it. Great people. As for their product, I enjoyed it. I tryed a couple different vinegars and olive oils. I'm not going to pretend like most people out there that I am some kind of food Connoisseur. I'm just a normal guy that likes food and flavors. I think when you go there you're not looking for just plain olive oil. You go to a store like this looking for something different. I loved the flavors. If you are on a South Beach diet or something like it, this is great for you. You can use these to flavor your food. It has helped me with some of my sweet cravings. Despite the mixed reviews I have purchased about 7-8 bottles of EVOO & Balsamic from this store. I LOVE the espresso & 18 year aged balsamic. Try both over vanilla bean ice cream or on beef tenderloin. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to give numerous samples (which I suspect is a must as the oils are $15+ a bottle). One lady did get a bit testy when my 8year old tried to pour his own sample - which I can understand - but it did hurt his feelings and he was being really careful. I walked away with an espresso balsamic, lemon white balsamic and baklouti green chili olive oil. So far I've used the green chili olive oil to scramble eggs and over steamed green beans. I went in again to day for the 3rd time and sampled more flavors and even mixed combos of vinegars paired with olive oils that the ladies there kindly mixed up for us. One taste test told it all. Okay, I've never been to the store but they had a set up at my place of employment's cafeteria where the lady, who was very friendly, looked at me straight in the face and told me that they sell the freshest olive oil around. So, I ask, "Where does your olive oil come from?" She replies, "Oh, they are a mix of olives from various countries" Okay, I'm no expert but I do know good olive oil. But when I think of "mix from various countries" I'm thinking the Italians, the Spaniards and so on, once they utizlize the best of the oil they sell the bottom of the barrel to the ignorant Americans who will eat anything (isn't so for a lot of us!) so.... So, she gives me a sample of some bread dipped in olive oil. Was that olive oil? I couldn't tell...all I tasted was a Crisco oil slick on my tongue. I'm serious. No flavor. It was tasteless and just like vegetable oil. If you've had the opportunity to know real, cold press extra virgin olive oil that is fresh and of the highest quality, you will turn your nose up to Heavenly Olive Oils and Vinegar. I really hope the owner looks for a better source for olive oil so they can have much success. Another commenter says that they might as well take vegetable oils and use seasonings in them. He's right on. To me, the quality of the olive oil comes first. I'd rather have plain, great quality olive oil and season it myself than buy poor quality/tasting olive oil with fancy seasonings. If you are looking for a great Olive oil that will tickley your tastebuds, your senses and experience olive oil the way it's meant to be, I reccomend you try Sciabica family olive oil.(needn't be italian grown to be good although there are many good Italian brands out there). I shopped at the LS store last year for Christmas. I purchased a couple of items for us to try, and one for a gift. I gave a bottle of their Peach white balsamic vinegar to a family member and they haven't stopped raving about it. I agree. It is fabulous. I also loved the Tuscan Herb olive oil. It's really great for dipping bread (add your own spices) or Italian cooking. Made a simple pesto pasta using it with some basil pesto and it was great. Their website has some recipes worth looking into with suggestions on how to use their products, which I really appreciate. The new owners of the store have made some great improvements this year. They have added really cute gift options, like bread dipping dishes, and also spices, flavored jalapeno jams, chocolates, etc. so you can create a nice gift basket. All kinds of stuff. A wonderful selection. They also have sampler sets of their oils and vinegars, or you can ask to create your own. They offer some gift packaging, too, which is I really appreciate. They were so helpful and very accommodating. No pushy shovey attitude like some places. Really great experience. I never knew that the grocery store-bought oils and vinegars were SO BAD until I tried a few of these high quality varieties. If you haven't tried white balsamic, you are really missing out. It's a game changer. Especially if you are trying to do a low carb diet. All these flavored products really have improved my cooking. It's opened up a whole new world!! I fell upon this place and am thrilled. I had been looking for a good aged balsamic and found an 18 year which was yummy. I ended up also getting the Tuscany Blend olive oil which was double yummy. I also got a spice olive oil for my hubby called Harissa which has a bite to it just like my husband likes. One of my faves is the chocolate balsamic...it was pure delight in a bottle, perfect to use drizzled over vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. I was excited when Heavenly Oils & Vinegars opened, as I frequent a similar store in Austin, TX to get my 18-year aged Balsamic fix. (I am a Kansas City native and was in town visiting family). I was very disappointed with the quality of the products offered here. The truffle oil is made with imitation truffle flavoring. It took a very long time to get the salesperson's attention to make a purchase, and when I got home I discovered that I had been given lemon vinegar instead of the lemon oil that I had ordered. read more

I stopped in to get my brother a birthday gift. He's a big grill master kind of guy so I thought this place would be great to pick up some fun and unique flavored oils/vinegars that he could use for marinades. I'm so glad I did because this place was awesome! I bought a bottle of Surrano Pepper Honey vinegar, a bottle of chipotle infused olive oil, and a jar of Fat Pat's Bigfoot Repellent all purpose seasoning. They were all delicious! My brother loved the gift. I can't wait to go back to try more flavors. The Surrano Pepper Honey vinegar is incredible. The service was fantastic. I went in and told them I was looking to buy a gift for a family member. They have a nice assortment of EVOO and balsamic vinegars. I'm not an expert but the balsamics were excellent. I wasn't such a fan of the olive oils, they tasted off to me possibly because they just have you sip the oils. I would have preferred to taste them with a bread stick or cracker or something. They also didn't give a lot of detail about the product, but I didn't ask a lot of questions either. They also didn't mention that they had some small gift assortments for sale until I had already chosen a pair of EVOO and vinegar to buy, so they really need to work on their sales skills. They also didn't offer gift wrapping even though they knew it was a gift. That would be a nice touch since I will guess that most of their sales will be as gifts. Overall it's a nice concept. I liked the assortment of flavors. I would have liked some prepacked gift bags with goodies in them vs now having to put together my own. They really should direct people more about what to buy since most of us are not experts about their product. like - 'oh it's for a gift? Here's a nice pair of vinegar and EVOO and I would recommend this pasta/sauce/bread to go with it.' Great! Thanks, I'll take it! That would have saved me 10 minutes of wandering about not knowing what the hell I should buy. If you are interested in specialty EVOO or balsamic, I would recommend going to this place quickly because I can't imagine they will be able to make the rent. I probably won't be back. When I walked into this store, I was amazed by the pretty silver vessels and wondering to taste or not to taste. The plastic sample cups gave it away. I was greeted by a friendly staff associate who asked if I wanted to taste the olive oils and vinegars. I sampled ten to be exact. The Organic Tuscan Herb oil and Strawberry Balsamic are two of my favorites. The associate was more than happy to share combination recipes that result into syrups, marinades and vinaigrettes. If you decide to purchase an oil, vinegar or both. NO PRESSURE from associates, which is a huge PLUS with me. You get to pour your very own into your own bottle. There are also other samples of their bread dips, jellies, mustards and salsas. The store also makes elegant gift baskets. If you want something fun to do and at no charge, make a stop at this store. What a refreshing treat!!! I can not say enough about this wonderful store. I love their products!!!! It completely changed the way I cook. I have tried several olive oils in the store that were supposed to be 100% extra virgin oil. Nothing I have tried compares to the flavors they carry. I am so excited about this store! When my boyfriend and I saw this place, he read the sign and immediately drug me in there! We absolutely love to cook together and we are constantly in our kitchen trying new things so we are having a blast with these different flavors! We bought about five bottles because we had such a hard time deciding on our favorites! The sales people were great, they gave us lots of ideas for how to use the different flavors and talked to us about how the originated! Man, I don't knw what planet that Adam guy is from, but he doesn't know what he's talking about. If anything, he just made a complete fool of himself with those crazy, ignorate and biased statements. Obviously his family is connected with Sciablica. Many of the oils HOOV carries are Gold Medal winners, and they ARE fresh, as the are harvested in fall in n. hemisphere and the spring in the S. hemisphere. They are never more than 6 months old, unlike Calif. oils that are up to ayear old from a fall harvest. Evoo does NOT get better as it ages, unlike what some people believe. Color or oil and country of origin is not at all important, just freshness and hom strong the antioxidants are in the oil. Go taste for yourself. Heavenly IS selling the best, as any fool can plainly taste. This is the bad thing about Yelp! People posting that have an agenda..... read more

I've spent a ton of money at this place in the past and the last encounter with my 15 year old daughter was the last straw, the rude sales lady came up to her and said she needed adult assistance if she was under 12...um hello if she were being disrespectuful I would understand, but she nearly had a sample cup in her hand with me by her side, wanting to sample the coconut flavored vinegar, which we were intending on buying, along with several other flavors, but after this incident of the lady nearly grabbing the plastic cup from her hand, I told my daughter let's go and we'll NOT be shopping here again. So much for us ever going back to this place, and very far from Heavenly as I've ever been treated! RUDE! I love this little oil & vinegar joint - as you walk in you will feel the friendliness and hospitality they have to offer. The oils and vinegars are like nothing I have ever tasted in my life. It will make your salads and dinner plates go ZING when you add these oils and vinegars accompany them. The neat thing is you get to try all of them if you wish and they give you ideas on how to mix them. I grow fresh basil in the summer time so I can throw it on my salad - I know longer have to because I walked out of their shop with Basil oil that is as fresh as picking it right out of your garden. I also purchased some Strawberry Balsamic that makes your taste buds spin with delight. I picked up some other oils and vinegars that I can't wait to try on top of noodles, rice or just to dip my bread in. They also have beautiful gift bags you can purchase, which I did. The woman was very helpful and informative. I did try several of the vinegars, which I normally avoid...OMG. SOOOOOOOOOOO delicious. Clearly, after reading the other reviews, I'm no expert on olive oils but, I love this store. I have found that I use much less oil when I am using one of the wonderful flavored oils as opposed to plain. I have made endless combinations of dressings and marinades that my family and guests always rave about. I found the people in the store very informative about what goes well together and they even have available a pamphlet on that topic. It's a little pricey I suppose but I would rather pay a little more and have something I really use. The best benefit is that after I've been sampling oils and vinegars, my appetite is greatly diminished. read more

My daughter took me to this store when I was there visiting over Christmas. What a find!! I purchased several oils, and one oil and vinegar mix - all are great tasting. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. We sampled many flavors before deciding on those I had to have. Since I live in Florida, the sales staff wrapped them in many layers of bubble wrap as extra protection. I can't wait to go again this summer when we are there! read more

My husband and I received a gift certificate to this place from his co-worker who loves it. We went and LOVE it too. It's so much fun sampling all the variety, and we have purchased numerous flavors. I like lime and coconut on my salad, and butter olive oil on my sprouted wheat bagel. The espresso is great straight, in water or on a roast... The harissa is fantastic in our hamburgers. This place is just totally fun, and gives you some new flavors to put on your vinegar/olive oil salad or experiment with in your food. Where has this place been all my life. The 18 year Balsamic was "heavenly". It stayed on my tongue & I didn't want it to stop. Only complaint, if I honestly had one. Wish they would either print the uses on the bottles, or give a card with recommendations of what to use the product on. As we browsed the store, the staff was very helpful with suggested uses. Of course, as soon as I made my purchases I didn't remember what those suggestions were. It really was a treat & I bought 3 of the oils & 5 of the vinegars. Can't wait to try them all. we visited Heavenly Oils in MO, and had a wonderful experience. the olive oils and vinegars are awsum. we bought several including apple vinegar, which was so thick and creamy. we are from MA, and were visitng our family in Lansing, Kansas. our kids took us for a visit to the zona rosa mall where we discovered this awsom store. You really should try it. we paid about 16.00 per bottle for the vinegars. taste tested many of the vinegars and olive oils, which were incredible and all from Italy. we hope this store succeeds. this is an amazing store and the staff was great; I wish there was one in a local in MA Since getting back home in Hingham, MA, we have enjoyed wonderful salads with this vinegar.
