This was our first experience at Vetta. Our neighbors in Lee's Summit wanted to try the new Italian place in town. My wife did too. I hadn't heard about it, but after checking out their menu, I was game. Our server, Kaylee was great. It took her a bit to get to our table, but she had a lot of tables and not much help. She was very kind and knew the menu well. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken, which she liked great deal. I had a small salad add-on to start the meal. And then I ordered the lasagna. The lasagna was fantastic! One of the better lasagnas I have had in the Metro area. Very meaty and a hardy portion. There were a couple of misfires. Service was a bit too quick as we weren't done with our appetizers and I was still eating my salad when all of the entrées came. Just a few minutes early. All of us ordered drinks from the bar and my wife was the only one that enjoyed hers. The rest of them fell short. One was a custom order and two were from the specialty drink menu. 3/4 drinks fell flat. Maybe they had an inexperienced bartender that night. All in all we would return and hope to try other things on the menu, but we would probably only order beer or wine. read more

Nice new vibe for downtown LS. New Italian place always welcome! My dad had the lasagna which he enjoyed. I had the Caesar salad, I asked if they had anchovies, server was going to check but salad came sans anchovies.. still fine. Salmon was good. Service was very good. They all seemed new and learning the menu. Food was good enough to return still has a lot of opportunity to be even better! read more

This pop up bar was so elegant looking! Everyone knows I love me a good Christmas pop up bar, so this was right up my alley! Me & my fiancée stopped here for our anniversary (we had reservations) & they took care of us!!! Our waiter was amazing, the bartender gave us a free anniversary shot, the drinks were fantastic & don't get me started on the food! Everyone & everything was great! I will be back! Bonus: they gave us scratch off tickets for our next visit! You can only scratch it off in front of them, so I'm excited to see what I win! read more

Made reservations for 3 at 4PM. We were greeted quickly, seated in our favorite, a booth in view of bar. The decor was themed "White". All about Christmas, winter, snow, Angels etc. was really decked out bright and cheerfully. We had for drinks Peppermint martini (outstanding) even came with its own peppermint stick spoon and a Rose. We casually remarked that the rose was a bit dry and the bartender came over with a sample of someone a little less dry. After we expressed interest he exchanged them at no charge. Very thoughtful. Our waitress, Rachel, was terrific. Took plenty of time with us, explained everything and was on top of service. Extremely personable. For foods, after discussion w Rachel, we ordered Fried Spadienini w Amogio chicken, vodka pasta. Also the Tortellini Alla Panna. All dishes were terrific. In full transparency I did order from DoorDash however I was shocked at what I received tonight. I ordered a classic wedge salad with no changes. Described as a normal wedge with bleu cheese crumbes, bacon lardons, tomato and bleu cheese dressing. The photo looked delicious (which I will attach to the photo of what I received in my bag). What I received for $16 was a tiny halved romaine heart with a single cherry tomato a couple pieces of Parmesan and some sort of oil on the side. They also forgot part of my order but for some reason I got a side of un-toasted bread I didn't order. I definitely wasn't impressed. The pasta was great but unfortunately didn't make up for the rest of the experience. read more

Had a great dinner here.. little snafu on server placing half our parties order for food and then other half later so came all at mixed intervals but he apologized.. one other thing was that we ordered several glasses of wine, wasn't until after we saw a sign that said it was 50% off bottles which would have been far cheaper had he told us this. Our experience at Vetta tonight was wonderful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers in a historic building in downtown Lee's Summit. We had a wonderful server, Kaylee, who was very attentive while allowing us privacy to enjoy our meal. There were three of us and we had angel hair pasta with garlic, ribeye steak, and chicken with spinach topping and balsamic glaze. The food was excellent and well prepared. My wife and I went here around Christmas time after randomly driving by it one day. It was great! The atmosphere was perfect, all decorated for the Christmas season. We got the fried gnocchi as an appetizer which was so good. It was a little heavy on the oil. I got a chicken and rigatoni dish, delicious, I would definitely get it again. My wife got shrimp scampi. Weeknight delight. Weather is perfect right now to sit on the patio. I tried the Ravioli Sausage and Cheese. All of the food was way too salty and the service was poor. One of the things we ordered was cannelloni but we were give manicotti. When I brought it to the server's attention, she argued that it was cannelloni and to cut further into the middle to find the meat. Nope, still no meat, just cheese. Finally after much discussion and showing her there was no meat all the way through, exasperatedly she asked, "Do you meet me to have them remake it?" After that, someone else brought out the replacement and we never saw her again except when she brought out the bill. Vetta is undeniably beautiful inside. The design is warm, stylish, and feels like the kind of place you want to linger. The service matched the ambiance. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely trying to make the experience great. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the setting. The bread arrived looking and tasting like floppy, wonder-bread-style slices, which immediately set the tone. It felt like very little effort was put into something that should be simple but memorable at an Italian restaurant. The dishes that followed were presented nicely but lacked depth and authentic Italian flavor. Nothing was awful, but everything was underwhelming -- more "fine" than enjoyable, and certainly not what you'd hope for given the atmosphere. My husband and I truly wanted to love this place because the space and the staff are wonderful, but the food needs improvement to match the rest of the experience. I hope they make some adjustments, because the potential is absolutely there. read more

Vibe is 10/10. Went during the winter pop-up and it was magical inside. Beautifully decorated, excellent ambiance. Live piano music filled the air, but as delicate background noise, was not overpowering of conversation. Service was fine, nothing terrible, nothing outstanding. Drinks took a while to get to the table, longer than expected. Food was 7/10. It is better than the other Italian eatery in town, but it's not anything outstanding. And whatever they say on the menu, NO, the corn with the lasagna dos NOT work, and the 1/4c scoop of canned corn I got plopped on the top of my lasagna for $2 was most definitely not worth it. read more

Wasn't expecting much given some of the reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the service and food. We had fried ravioli, Mostaccioli and cannelloni, all of which were very good. Portion size was generous and the food was served promptly and hot. Our server was attentive and offered solid recommendations. Pretty place with great food and service. Went with a group of 6. If you ever went to the Mexican restaurant in this space before it hasn't changed much inside, still has the beautiful bar and pretty chandeliers. We all really enjoyed our food. The menu is different from the pictures shown on Yelp btw if you like to plan ahead like me. We started with a seasonal bruschetta, which had a cream cheese spread and peaches. Wonderfully different from the norm. We also enjoyed bread and olive oil, which was full of yummy garlic. My husband and I both got a caesar salad and shared the sea bass on a delicious bed of peppers and onions with a drizzle of balsamic sauce. It was absolutely scrumptious and plenty for us. Others in the group had salmon and chicken piccata, both served with pasta, and all enjoyed. They also have a great variety of cocktail and mocktail choices. I had the Spritz mocktail and it was really good. You may want to plan for dinner to take some time. Not sure if it was because of the size of our party or not. We got there for an early dinner at 4:45 on a Saturday night, hardly anyone in the place, and didn't leave until 6:45 and the place was packed. Authentically Italian I suppose ;). read more

The food was great, but I'm not Italian and think Olive Garden is great too. (The Italian people I was there with confirmed it was good though). Overall the food was just okay, but maybe they are still working out the issues. I had the Capelli D'angelo with spiedini and the tiramisu. The Capelli D'angelou was super watery and flavorless. The spiedini, was nothing more than a piece of chicken with breading and tasted very plain. Overall the dish was a bust. The tiramisu was nothing great either, one layer of ladyfingers was dipped in coffee but the second layer wasn't throwing the whole thing off. It tasted mostly like whipped cream. It's a rather unimpressive start but hopefully they iron things out and produce better quality food. read more

Positives--Pop Up Bar theme was by far the best I've been to this season hands down. Were seated on time per reservation. Negatives--Service, eek. Needs training and maybe make sure you have ample staff, our server visited our table 3 times in 90 minutes (no tip for the first time in my life). Initial drink order, food order, and bringing our check. I had to got to the bar to get another drink. Never came by to see if we needed anything else or check on food order. Lastly, take the fettucine off the menu, it was noodles, water sauce and a little sauce. Most horrific fettucine I've ever had (this is my go to at all Italian restauraunts). The food was really good. The Vodka Rigatoni was so good. If they offer you a side salad just be aware that the Caesar salad is huge and a dinner size salad and a side salad. With your pasta, they offer you extra garlic and Parmesan cheese. The extra garlic is in butter and olive oil was seasoning and it was really good on the bread. Our waitress was super helpful and made good suggestions. The decor is really beautiful and it's a really good atmosphere. read more

Beautiful,romantic setting indoors. Really nice patio seating and the Food is so good. Had of course the free fried Ravioli, cheese was perfectly crisp with lots of melty cheese. The Bottle of Angels List Pinot Noir was perfect with the Eggplant parmigiana. I am very fussy when it comes to marinara,I really like my homemade the best. I really really hate to give a bad review to a restaurant, especially one that has only been open for two weeks, but this isn't their first restaurant either & it was really bad. This was just a mess from the very beginning. We had a large party of 12 & we had a few questions before we could get started. We asked what pastas are made in house & if they used Italian flour because it is non-GMO & is easier to digest. I asked the waiter the questions & he immediately told us ALL pastas were made in house (which surprised me & my first red flag) and that they "probably" used Italian flour. I asked him if he'd go ask to make sure and he was gone for awhile, but he came back & didn't even address the question. I asked for the manager to come by, but when he walked up he had his coffee mug in hand. I thought that was a bit unprofessional, but whatever. He told us they get their pasta from Springfield & he was pretty sure it was not Italian flour, but not 100% sure. That's the kind of answer I like, just admit it if you don't know! It's OK to not know an answer especially if you are a waiter, but don't just guess! Especially when it comes to people with gluten issues. We also found out from the manager that they were out of the spedini since the night before. We never heard that from the waiter though & most of us had planned to order that. We were finally ready to order, but the waiter was two tables down trying to open a bottle of wine.... for literally 3-4 minutes just getting the foil off (I'm not exaggerating). He finally went to ask for help, but we had been there a half hour at this point and were very ready to order. We had an 18 month old with us & she was starting to get a bit fussy with only bread to eat. I asked the manager if he'd come over to take our order so we could get moving & thankfully he did. Our food finally came out & I'd say it was about a 50/50 split on who thought their food was good. I had the salmon & it was super salty. My husband had the capelli d'angelo and said it was bland. I ate his leftovers the next day & I agree! The tomatoes were either canned or not ripe, but just no flavor. My mom had the eggplant parm & said it was not great, that she'd had better & wouldn't get it again. I heard the meatballs were good & the chicken parm were good. When we were finished our waiter wasn't around so we had to ask another waiter for our ticket & to-go boxes. Our waiter came to deliver the bill and every item was rung up separately. I'm sure he was just trying to be helpful, but it just made the check out process even longer. They gave us 10% off our bills, but we have a couple of veterans at the table so we'd asked for a veteran discount & it was the same. I'm not actually sure which they gave, but it was definitely not enough as far we were concerned. So with a fussy 18 month old in tow we gave my mom some cash, told my sister-in-law to figure out the bill and ran out the door! Oh one last thing, the waiter had just started his shift & his shirt was wrinkled & dirty. I have waited tables & my sister-in-law was a restaurant manager & we both noticed. If we ever came in dirty we were sent home to change. The waiter is a representative of the restaurant & if it were mine, it would not be the image I would want represented. read more

The ambiance of this place at Christmas was like a Hallmark movie, from the White Christmas Margarita, to delicious dishes, and don't forget the desert!! Everything thing was better than expected!
