We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and enjoyed looking at the different glasses, decanters, clothes that they have displayed. The wine bar, for tastings, is right there letting you know wine is a major focus. The selection of wines is also there, each with flavor notes and suggested pairings noted on a card. This provides a pleasant start to an evening. Armed with this information, when we got to the table, we were able to order one for each of us that we thought would suit our pallets. I enjoy sweets so the Scarletto delivered perfectly. My spouse had the Summer Berry Sangria, which she really enjoyed. Along with water and our wines they brought a pretzel bun and butter. It was delicious and I couldn't resist another. We had the prime rib sliders for an appetizer. The accompanying garlic spread was amazing. My wife had the pistachio encrusted grouper came with 3 good sized asparagus spears and mashed potatoes. I sampled and the grouper was about an inch thick, citrus notes and the crust of pistachios slightly salty and good nutty flavor. I had the braised short rib risotto. It had the subtle earthy notes from the mushrooms, totally tender and delicious also. After dinner one of the service ladies refilled my water glass and some accidental spilled in the table. No harm, no foul. But then asked, after cleaning up, if there was anything we would like. I asked for a third pretzel roll and yes, not ashamed, brought it home for tomorrow. Some of our friends gave us a three month wine club membership to Cooper's Hawk for the holidays and we just got around to using it. I've always enjoyed the wines here and my wife and I enjoy the menu as well. We love the small menu section with healthy items for those who are watching their macros and calories. They also have a nice selection of various pasta dishes, proteins, and seafood. The servers snd staff here are always on point. We have been to a couple of Cooper's Hawk locations and so far this one is our favorite. It doesn't hurt that it's the closest one to our house in Lee's Summit. We make sure to grab our monthly wine bottle and if we are having chicken or fish, especially if it leans Italian, the unoaked Chardonnay is our go to. read more

I really want to like this location but it's missed the mark my last two visits. My very first visit was over a year ago, and I absolutely loved it. The meatballs ordered were yummy, the wine flight was nice, and the service was decent. Fast forward to this summer, and it's been downhill. I tried the meatballs and they were not as flavorful as I remembered. I also ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts, and they were very crispy more like flakes and had little flavor. The sangria flight was okay, nothing I'd get again. Service was slow, and overall, it was such a disappointing visit. I recently returned, and while service was slow, it was busy, so that was somewhat expected. I ordered a flatbread from the happy hour menu; it was okay, though the edges were a bit crispier than I like. I was hoping to wine taste but it was very crowded and no spots were opening up. While this location is convenient, I'd drive to a different location for a better experience. read more

First visit to this restaurant. Went with ladies brunch group. Some might consider the menu pricey, but it is not outrageous. I found it to be a good value for the money. There are selections for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I opted for a cheese burger with a side of Asain Slaw. Good burger . And the slaw was flavorful. What I really enjoyed was the Summer Sangria. $5.00 a glass. The fresh mint is what set this drink apart. So many things I would want to go back and try. I'll bring Mr. G. for a date night. I would also like to try a wine tasting in the future. The display of wine accessories, glasses, and dishes for sale is a great place to pick up a gift. My niece ordered off the children menu we were surprised at the offerings there. Not your usual chicken nuggets, Mac and cheese and burger. That was great for her because she likes upscale dinning at 8 years old. She got the pot stickers, broccoli and fruit. She loved her option. My adult niece got the chicken gnocchi, it was very good and my sister and I got the spaghetti and meatballs, which we enjoyed. We also got the delicious pretzel bread. All the components in the dish went really well with each other. Chicken was decent quality and tasted great. In terms of ambiance, this restaurant is also a cool place to sit in. While it is a bit on the pricey side, I definitely recommend coming here at least once. It was a great experience overall! read more

We love Cooper's Hawk, and we're so excited to get one in Lee Summit, as we always used to go to the one on The Plaza in Kansas City. Unfortunately, this location has been packed in the wine tasting, bar, outdoor dining, and restaurant areas since they've opened and they seem to have issues with food and service consistency. Sometimes we've gone and the food has been undercooked, I had a drink flight spilled on me from head to toe, and we've also left the wine tasting area because no one ever came up to help us. We used to be wine club members and really enjoy their wine and the tastings. We recently canceled our membership, because we have found other wines and wineries that we enjoy more. We always meant to go to one of their wine dinners, as they look really fun, seem to be a good value, and we have heard wonderful things about them. I hope that they're growing pains with staff in the kitchen have been resolved, as this used to be one of our favorites! read more

We typically go to the Country Club Plaza location, but decided to switch it up this month. We really enjoyed this location in Lee's Summit. It has plenty of parking and we didn't have to wait to start our wine tasting. The service was great and the wine was amazing as always. Happy New Year! We went here on New Year's Day. I was surprised and happy that they were open. We figured we wanted to start the New Year off right with a nice dinner. I made a reservation and we went. Once we arrived, we were seated right away. I was and wasn't surprised at how busy they were. I guess others had the same idea we had. Our waitstaff, Hope, came over and took our drink order. Hubs got a tasting of their Reserve Red. I tasted it. It was too dry for me but hubs was a fan and got a glass. I got my usual unsweetened iced tea, the older kid got lemonade and the baby got water. For apps, we ordered the Sweet Chile Calamari and the Egg rolls. The Calamari was delicious! Fried perfectly and the sauce was good. I didn't eat the egg rolls but both the kid and hubs said they were really good. For meals, I got the Gnocchi, the kid got a burger, hubs got the Jambalaya, and the baby mac and cheese with fruit. My Gnocchi was very good except the panchetta. It was cooked a little too long and you could taste the char. It wasn't pleasant. The good thing is I didn't taste it often. Hubs said his meal was ok but he'd get something different next time. The kid lined his burger and the baby loved her mac and cheese. I also had a ceasar salad that was delicious. The dressing has pesto in it. Definitely a different take on it. For our first dinner of 2024, it was great! I know we will be back. Also, Hope was amazing as waitstaff. She was very attentive. read more

4 of us went for dinner on a friday night with pre dinner wine tasting planned. We had a wonderful time. We showed up 45 min before dinner (as suggested) and checked in with the hostess so we didn't miss our dinner reso if we got caught up in the wine taste. We opted for the premium taste--8 tastes--very generous pours--probably almost 3.5 glasses of wine--most very good. Not much commentary/description as short staffed but still fun social event and lots of good wine especially for the price ($20pp I think). We spent over an hour drinking/tasting and they were very nice to save our dinner spot. Service spot on, tolerant of our happy inebriation and helpful. Star of the meal was the short rib (amazingly tasty sauce), but the shrimp/scallop risottos was also very good. Nice GF options for sons SO who enjoyed a GF veggie risottos. Ambiance: The dining area had low lights and could have been romantic, but it was so noisy we felt like we had to speak over everyone to hear each other. Then, for a full bar, when my husband ordered an Old Fashioned, they only had one whiskey. Service: we had a young blonde waiter, who was a bit odd. He would come to the table and just stand there without saying anything for a few seconds. At times it made things feel uncomfortable, although overall, he was attentive. Had Cooper's Hawk for lunch yesterday with a friend for the first time! The pretzel bread that they served prior to the meal was hot and fresh and super tasty. I ordered the lunch salad and soup. I chose the wedge salad and tortilla soup. The soup was served in a small, normal sized soup cup and the salad was on the same plate. This was $20, so I was a little surprised at how small the portion of salad was. It tasted delicious! Again the soft drink price surprised me at $4.99. Our waitress was friendly, but was not super familiar with the menu when my friend asked a few basic questions. Average experience overall. At this price point ($30+ lunch) I would likely choose something else next time. read more

I was so impressed! Our meals were wonderful- we had the lettuce wraps as an appetizer, and they had tons of flavor profiles. I had the Parmesan crusted mahi mahi, which was very mild and had a nice Parmesan breading on top. The butternut squash gnocchi was awesome- didn't even miss the meat, it was so creamy and dense. The petite Syrah was very smooth and perfectly semi sweet. My mom got the peach sangria and it was so good- I would get it again in a heartbeat. We were also offered the truffles for celebrating our anniversary, and they were great! The ginger carrot cake was very heavy on the ginger but I enjoyed it. Jeremy, our server, was very friendly and answered all of our questions and made great suggestions. Although a little pricey-er than I generally like to spend, I will absolutely be back for a special occasion. We love Cooper's Hawk on the Plaza, so we decided to make a drive to the one in Lee's Summit. The restaurant itself is modern and nicely decorated. When you walk in, the wine tasting is to the left. Walk straight and you'll see the bar and the hostess stand. The hostess was very friendly. The waitress we had was super nice and knowledgeable. Of course they have same food options as the one at the Plaza, so the food was delicious. We ordered the steak salad (big portions and so good) and the pretzel crusted pork chops ( so tender and yummy). It does come with bread and butter. We also ordered a bottle of wine. Now for the wine tasting side review.. Oh boy, I'm never coming here for wine tasting again. First off, the people waiting cut in line like toddlers. Second off, the employees here just pour the wine for you, and don't really go over any of the wines with you until I politely asked. I know it's a rush and that we are wine members, but a few seconds of knowledge of the wine is fairly doable. We haven't tried all the wines here since they switch out wines all the time. All in all, I still love Cooper's Hawk. But I'll stick to the Plaza Cooper's Hawk. At least I know there that I'll have a great experience with both sides of the restaurant. read more
