Simply put - this is my favorite place in KC to buy alcohol. The deals are excellent, the local beers are well stocked and represented, and the staff is super helpful. If they don't stock it, you can order it. Talk about service! What I love about gomer's is that there are also tastings! Sign up for their beer mail list and you'll get notifications next time a partner is in town and they are hosting a tasting. I've been to wine tastings, mezcal tastings and - my fave - scotch tastings! It's fun to hear about the companies and sample different products. Also there is usually a discount involved for the bottles you sample if you choose to purchase one! There are also "floor tastings" where you can sample while you shop - and they are fun! Highly recommend Gomer's all around - stop by you won't regret it!

One of the best liquor stores downtown for craft beer, whiskey, and wine! This is my go to when looking for one off bottles of beer or whiskey when they come out. If seeking something that is limited release, I have noticed that it doesn't always get put on the shelves, they occasionally hold things back for regulars/frequent shoppers which they are able to look up if you pay by card here. If you know something came out recently and don't see it out, make sure to check with an employee. Prices here are always very competitive with what you will see around town. They do have a parking lot, so no worry about street parking.

I visited Gomer's to find Dogfish Head brews. Firstly, I found the staff to be personable and unlike some have described. I think all but one greeted me while shopping. The parking lot was clean and sizable. Entered through automatic sliding doors and through another set on the right. This is the beer area, with wine and spirits on the other side--along with the exit. Found my fave, Sea Quench, and two I haven't tried. Better selection in Minneapolis metro, but that's mostly due to distributors. I also bought some wine I didn't have. The wine selection is more diverse than the beer selection. Prices were reasonable. A very good shopping experience. Recommended

No, this is more of a sit-yourself-down kind of place, instead of being a make-your-way-to-the-bar-for-yet-another-drink kind of place. But they serve up some Joe's Kansas City BBQ, so you know they've got a reason to pull you in. Nothing says Kansas City quite like smoked meats & fabulous sauces, so get comfy & sample a Z-Man. There is plenty else on the menu, but if you're vegan or vegan-ish, then good luck or maybe have a cheat day. The BBQ is fantastic and Ice House has added their own bar & grille twists, so you have options beyond smoked meats. Seating is pretty good, and with both a wraparound bar and table service, there are plenty of options. As is the norm these days, there are screens in all directions, so you just don't miss a single moment of sportsball if that's your jam. P&L is a jammed up place when events are happening, so if you can find yourself a spot to sit and enjoy, then that's a win. County Road offers that and more, and it's only real knock is the service levels, which can be slow at busy times. But hey, if you have a seat and maybe a drink, then wait just a few extra minutes for servers to plow their way through the bar crowd. Definitely worth it for the BBQ alone.

It's was big and came with fries and a pickle spear. The flavor was good and the portions was a little too much for me but I powered through and conquered that beast. The menu has some really good choices I would recommend trying a couple items to get a better feel of the overall menu choices. Staff: It was late maybe an 1hr before closing time and about 20 of is walked in together. Yup! We were totally those people. Sorry guys, but the staff welcomed it and seated us immediately by placing tables together it was great. Orders were placed and everyone got what they ordered so cheers to the staff on that one. The staff was talkative and thanked us on our way out for stopping by to eat. Great team at this establishment. Atmosphere: It was quiet and I think we were tue only ones in the restaurant but again it was late and last minute. The space definitely looks like sporting events and other televised events could be a really great place to hang out. I don't really know so it may be worth checking it out for yourself. Price: My BBQ pulled Pork Sandwich was about $17 and in my opinion that's really good especially considering the portion size of the sandwich and sides. Location: It's located in Kansas City Mousori in the gas light district.

The overall vibe is pretty cool, and I really liked the lighting inside--it gives the place a nice atmosphere. I ordered the BRGR burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger itself was pretty good, and the sweet potato fries were fantastic. They came out hot and had great flavor, easily the highlight of the meal. The server was very good and nice. She noticed that we were getting low on waters fast and just gave us the pitcher which was super thoughtful. That being said, the burger is pretty expensive, and they don't include fries with it. You have to pay an extra $5-6 for a side, which definitely adds up and feels a bit steep for what you get. Overall, it's still a good place with solid food and a cool vibe, but the pricing does affect the overall rating.

If memory serves me correctly this used to be an old berbiglia spot. Just thinking about those stores takes me back to my early 20s and thinking about how much KC has changed in a decade. At any rate, I pulled over, dodged some rain, and came inside. Now, anyone who remembers Berbiglias in KC might remember them as I do - kind of basic, a bit dirty, and the kind of place that you just kind of tolerated. I mean, I was in my twenties so I didn't know liquor stores could be nice and have variety, but now I do, and boy was I glad when I walked in the doors and found out that this newly redone Plaza Liquor is NICE. Not only is the interior nice, the folks working are super friendly, and they have an incredible selection. I found some craft beers from STL that my husband hadn't been able to find in a long time at liquor stores closer to our house, and they of course carried a good variety of wine and liquor as well. Overall this one is a great little neighborhood liquor store, and is definitely one I'll return to if I'm once again needing to pick up a bottle of wine on the way home.

When you walk in you can choose if you'd like to sign up for a brewery tour - if you haven't done this it's well worth your time. I usually just head up to the taproom. In reality there are three different taproom places here. The second floor is the main space and where I find myself most often. They serve pretty great bar food and have a ton of taps to choose from. You'll find an array of Boulevard favorites and some experimental options which are fun to sample. They also usually have a free photobooth running and PLENTY of space. It's happened to me, but it's rare that it's so full you can't find a spot. They also have one of the best patios in KC IMO. The top floor is the rec deck which has games, and more space to hang out and enjoy a drink though a more limited bar. Downstairs if you navigate behind the gift shop you can find a more intimate bar where they deposit tour goers over the weekend. During the week they host trivia here and it's always a fun time. Overall you can't go wrong stopping in here for a pint. If you are visiting KC this is a must visit.
