Finally got around to reviewing this place after seein the unfair one star left by another person…read more This gym is hands down the best gym you will find in the imperial valley. There is a wide array of free weights, cardio options, and machines that allow a lot of options for your chosen workout. While other gyms shy away from the heavier dumbbells and free weights, this gym has several free weight bars, plates, clamps, etc. and dumbbells that go up to 120lbs. There is a traditional power lifting area, a dedicated dumbbell section and even an outdoor area for sport fanatics to train their fast twitch muscles and work on agility and endurance. Now why isn't this a five star review? Well as good as it is, it could be better. The dumbbells have seen a few wars are some are broken free from their rubber casings, some seats are cracked/torn and could use some freshening up, and a little bit of organization when it comes to dumbbell placing would really make a difference. Also, sometimes the music system leaves something to be desired. By that i mean sometimes you go in and it's as quiet as a funeral, and sometimes it's so loud you can't drown out the music with your headphones turned up to the highest level. Again these are very minor complaints given all this place has to offer and compared to the competition, you won't get a better value for your dollar. Being open 24/7 even on holidays is a HUGE plus as well and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming when I'm heading out the door in the early morning. All in all, although no place is perfect, aside from some minor annoyances, I challenge you to find a better gym in our community. 4/5 stars.

This Planet Fitness location is unbelievable. I'm a Black Card member, yet every visit turns into…read morean ID interrogation. I've given them my ID countless times, and they still claim they "don't have my photo" in their system. That is their failure, not mine. I scan the QR code like every other member, but they act like the scanner can't be trusted and treat me like I'm going through TSA security. They question me every single time as if I'm not even a member. Who do they think they are? Even after I transferred my home club exactly as they demanded, nothing changed -- they still keep checking my ID like a checkpoint authority. The attitude here is rigid, unwelcoming, and completely out of line. They treat their "own" members differently and make Black Card members from other clubs feel unwelcome. And let's be honest: I'm done with this toxic place. I will never come back. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. Stay far away. Most of their clubs are poorly maintained, the hygiene is terrible, and the equipment is far from professional. The only reason I joined Planet Fitness in the first place was because they had many convenient locations -- but at this point, I'd rather not work out at all than step into a place like this again.

Nice friendly staff,+ members, w lots to do! AC's cool, & place's clean & maintained. The open hrs…read morecould be 1-2 hrs more, esp on weekends. Summer kids need to stop slamming wts, + cleanup/ pickup, & stop acting immature in groups. Windy days create whirlwinds of debris by entrance. I'll be glad to train/ coach you..

How do you not open on Sunday? People workout on Sunday too…read more For this reason I would not recommend ESPECIALLY when your monthly dues are as high as they are! Definitely disappointing

Gym is way overpriced for what you're getting in return. Don't go here!…read more Owner of the gym really try's to make it seem like you're getting a grand deal with it being "24/7" with 3 locations (4th Street, Holtville, Imperial) but you need a key to open the door and it closes on Sundays from 3pm-11pm, lol. 4th Street and Holtville is $60.00, Imperial is $70.00 Their pricing is a bit confusing because new location supposedly if you have no card on file it's $80 month to month but if there's a card on file it's $70??? Their annual fee is $80. Then I also heard some people get special "prices" while others have to pay full... Cleanliness is bad. Other day I was in the restroom and they had a reused hand sanitizer bottle with watered down soap in it, like what? On 4th Street, upstairs restrooms have rings in the toilets, pretty disgusting. Then downstairs they'll have roaches inside and sh*t/pee stains in and on the toilets. In Holtville, the bathroom has a very strong fishy smell, sometimes it's pretty unbearable and it's stinks up the entire gym. I normally went to the Holtville location and all of us are annoyed that the treadmill, elliptical, and row machines don't work. Like they literally won't turn on. Seems they just put it there to get people to believe it works or something... Again we have to pay full price for stuff that doesn't even turn on. There's also a huge hole with mold in the roof and when the debris fell onto the floor, no staff was present to clean it. It always floods as well when storms come by in the Valley. 4th Street during the summer is horrible. It's so hot and humid for sure has to be a safety issue. There's also a broken window but instead of fixing it, they put Sheetrock over it? Then they put these wood frames over the mirrors which is so annoying because I can't even properly see myself in the mirror and it's been left like that for 3-4 months. For staff, there's literally no one. You would have to drive allllll the way to either 4th Street or Imperial to get in touch with someone. Equipment wise, all of its old. The bars in Holtville are really wobbly. Every time I try to do bench, it just feels like my wrist is gonna roll when I go down. Very unstable. Quality of the equipment literally looks like if it was made in the 50's-60's. The gym is a scam. I would highly recommend checking out other gyms in the Valley that aren't Solo Fitness to get a better bang for your buck. I don't think this gym is even worth coming for free in my honest opinion. Also to mention, when I canceled my membership, the owner turned into weirdo/creep mode. Like the Instagram page kept messaging me and when I finished out my month. He kept asking me questions and never left me alone throughout my last remaining days I had left. It was weird, uncomfortable, and annoying. Like your gym sucks, sorry bye. Before though, the owner would always pull me to the side and talk to me for like 30 minutes about all the "renovations" and "updates" he's gonna do. Which turned out he does it to everyone. I honestly think he does it to "reassure" people to prevent them of the idea of canceling and make it seem like "BIG" things are going to change but it's never gonna happen. Been going for like 7 years. Overall, gym sucks and needs to be reworked in all locations, not sure about the new location, never really went, but for Holtville and 4th Street. Gym is always dead and there's barely any people that go. The music is HORRENDOUS, they literally have like this same playlist EVERYTIME. Again, I recommend other gyms, don't go here.
