I like Heavy's Smokehouse location inside a liquor store.  There is a multitude of drink options while you wait for your food to be ready.  When I first visited I noticed they offered a Dino Rib.  It's a special that has very limited availability.  I was able to get one at 11:10am. There is an option of a small dino rib for $25 or a large for $50.  Large dino rib was a huge piece of beef.  2 meals worth for me.  Rib was tender and juicy.  I was impressed as this is the most tender and juicy beef rib I have had.  The smoky flavor from being smoked and the salty/peppery flavor from the dry rub was amazing.  I had some sticker shock from the $50 price tag but it's not bad considering it's only $25/meal. Staff was very nice and efficient.  The owner was very friendly and showed me his smoker.  Business ihas been good and he has a new larger smoker on order so in the future he can have more dino ribs and other bbq available. read more

I visited Heavy's Smokehouse on the recommendation of a friend who really knows great food. He's never steered me wrong, and he's also an excellent chef in his own right. I also stopped by shortly after our local news featured Heavy's delicious BBQ, which clearly brought them a lot of attention. When I arrived, there was already a line of 15+ customers stretching into the butcher shop. For those who may not know, Heavy's Smokehouse is located inside Santa Fe Meats and is only open Thursday through Sunday from noon until sellout. By the time I finally reached the counter, all of the sides had already sold out! Thankfully, I was still able to try their brisket sandwich along with both the regular and spicy BBQ sauces. Their authentic Texas-style smoked BBQ absolutely did not disappoint. The brisket was incredibly flavorful, tender, and honestly SO good. Both Heavy and Angel were friendly, welcoming, and appreciative that I was trying them for the first time. If they were closer to me or open all week, I'd probably be there far too often. If you love Texas-style BBQ, Heavy's Smokehouse is definitely worth checking out. My only real criticism is that parking at Santa Fe Meats can be limited and a bit challenging during busy times. Came through at 11:50am (they open at noon) and there were already about 8 people ahead of me...which told me everything I needed to know. Line moved quick though, and I'm glad I called ahead, the owner was super nice and gave me the heads up on timing. Love that kind of customer service. He was so nice. I've tried this spot twice now and the best thing on the menu are their beef ribs which are hard to find at most bbq spots in area so definitely gives them a leg up. Unfortunately, they consistently run out of food well before closing and don't bother to let you know until you've stood in line for 20+ minutes. Best fix for this would be to cross off food on menu as you run out so as not to waste folks time. Lastly, they charge almost twice as much for menu items on weekends vs weekdays which is a MAJOR NO NO for me. While the ribs are good, you'd be better of just going to the butcher in the back to get the meats you want and making your own bbq. They are new so hopefully they resolve some of the kinks but won't be going back until then. read more

While I believe brisket is available daily, the restaurant served beef back ribs on this day but lacked them when I visited.
