So the secret is out, and people are heading to this little gem in City Heights. I read a couple of fellow Yelper reviews and they said to go and check them out, and since I work close by, why not? I told the friendly worker that it was my first time. I ordered a beef shawarma, a chicken shawarma, secret fries, which he gave me half n half so I can taste both, and a Greek salad. Everything was really flavorful. I can decide which kind of secret fries I like better, beef or chicken. The shawarmas were a good size and generous portion of the meats. This location has only been there a little over a month, maybe three, I can't wait to go back! Oh, and he gave me a small coconut dessert sample, which I finished before taking a picture cause I was hungry! LOL! Earlier, I made an error about affiliation, sorry about that! But I remembered we talked about Golden Hill, so I was probably confused. Looking forward to going back soon!!!

Skirt Steak Shawarma Wrap with Secret Sauce

These guys are sporting some great eats! I had the Beef Shawarma Wrap made with tender skirt steak: a good choice of meat cut. The wrap came with some fries for $10. Like I said, the meat was not only tender, but well seasoned and tasty. The wrap came wit a very good quality tahini sauce and a sparing amount of pickled veggies which was a good call, so not to overwhelm the flavor of the wrap. I liked the way they toasted the wrap on the hot griddle. You can choose from a variety of sauces to have with your wrap and fries. I went with the secret sauce which was a tasty peppery concoction. I would have it again and it went well with the crispy well seasoned fries. The food truck offers a variety of eats, including a melee of wraps, bowls, plated, and sides. The two gentlemen running the food truck were super friendly. They also offer a nice creative dessert. It's kinda like a pudding with cookies or crackers in it. Good stuff.

We stumbled upon this place by pure luck. We ordered #1 beef shawarma sandwich. While we waited we couldn't help but smell how great the food smelled from the ppl seating next to us. Our order was ready in less than 15 minutes. We are in our car since it was really hot and humid outside. Our order was packaged perfectly. Now to the food itself, the fries were cooked perfectly and the seasoning overtop definitely added a great flavor. It was our first time trying this type of sandwich and I'll tell you we were impressed. It had such a great flavor combination. We will definitely be back to try more things.

This is one of the best mediterranean food out here I love this place I always eat there on my way to work. I just tried the new ground beef kabab sandwiches and plate with my family and it was delicious I highly recommend it the service is good and the food is delicious.

What's the secret to their shawarma? Disregard for the health of customers and members of our community during COVID.

I really hate to give Secret Shawarma a 1 star review because their food is AMAZING... unfortunately I observed a male worker here inside the food truck WITHOUT A MASK. I watched this unmasked worker deliver food to a customer in their car, and then go inside The Boulevard Liquor store with his uncovered face. The setup inside of the food truck prevents the workers from socially distancing from the shawarma spit that has meat rotating out in the open... all of the germs that the worker is exhaling could be in your next food order. I had a conversation with the worker because I was truly sad by what I saw... but his response to me was that it is close to closing time, so I shouldn't worry. Sorry Secret Shawarma, COVID does not care if it is near closing time; your actions put others at risk and you need to do better if you expect people to trust the food here.

Food truck off Main Street and Hollister. Pleasantly surprised by this food truck off the side of the road in a business district. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and a Greek salad. The chicken shawarma was robust in flavor and Smokey with a creamy garlic sauce. Came with a side of fries. The Greek salad was a good salad but nothing above average but a big stand out was the quality of the feta that made the salad extra delicious. I would have to say this worth a try if you are in the area. Happy eating!

Found this spot close to our apartment and wanted to give it a try. I got the Greek salad with beef shawarma and dolma. It is delicious! Both dishes taste very fresh and I love that the beef was slightly charred, but still had the tender juicy taste to it. The Dolma was sooo delicious and fresh! I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Shawarma plate was pretty good. Beats driving to El Cajon if you know what I mean. My only complaint, the Falafel was dry with no flavor and so I tried dipping it in garlic sauce which also had no flavor.

This place is beyond tasty!!!! I can't even begin to describe it because their customer services is perfect and their food is more than perfect. I am actually reviewing them after trying almost everything on their menu because I wanted to make sure everything actually tastes good not just the first order I got. And now I assure you that everything on that menu is just perfect taste and organization wise. I especially recommend you get the beef shawarma and the chicken tikka and you will not be sorry!!!! I love their food!!!!

This food truck is a hidden gem in Chula Vista! You can see just how juicy and tender the chicken and beef were in the picture! I usually drive to San Diego to eat mediterranean food because there isn't many options in CV. But now that I found this place, it will definitely be my go to. The meat is flavorful, the pita bread is fluffy, and the tabouli tastes fresh! There's not a long wait time and the service is nice. My only complaint is that I wish they gave more tabouli. Nonetheless, this place is delicious and I recommend getting their garlic sauce too to top off your meal. I will for sure be going more often and trying more things on the menu! read more

I go here at least once a month, it's hidden around a corner from a auto shoppe and next to a large mariscos truck. For all of the Shawarma places in San Diego this is my absolute favorite! The prices are really reasonable and the food is always solid. My favorite is the Gyro plate but I have had everything on the menu. I love the secret sauce (which I think is garlic, mayo, ketchup) and my favorite is the Garlic sauce (i always order extra) if you are a bread fan, order an extra piece. I love their dolma here and they give a huge portion! Their chicken has a really nice flavor as well and that is my hubbys go to. He loves the 2 for 8 buck sandwiches on special sometimes. read more

This place needs to take their business off of yelp or change the address as I have made several attempts to get my fav wrap yet the food truck has been MIA for MONTHS! I'm not sure if they moved to a new location but they definitely have not been at this location for again SEVERAL months. I would think they would at least update their address or remove so people aren't driving across town for disappointment of not even seeing the food truck. read more

Very bussin :))) Got a beef shawarma plate and a side of garlic sauce and it was soooo good! The bed was tender But it was a little dry, which the other topics such as the salsa, something pickled, and hummus and OF COURSE GARLIC SAUCE. I love it so much and usually based off my experience in a Mediterranean place based on their garlic sauce among other things :)) anyways very good experience, loved everything :-) the cashiers were also pretty nice and welcoming and gave me good information about the menu :-) WOULD come back again, definitely more on the expensive side though! read more

I wanted to love this place so much!! The service is great, very friendly, the actual taste of the food is delicious too. But the portions were kind of outrageous for the price. The chicken shawarma bowl was all rice and salad. I probably had 5 bites of chicken the whole time. Other than that it was filler. Got 4 bowls total and everyone experienced the same thing. For $15/ bowl, you could get a lot more food with the same quality at Luna grill, kebob shop, or Aladdin's. read more

Visited tonight in the rain, but it was well worth the trip. Ate it too fast for pictures. We got the beef shawarma plate, chicken shawarma plate, and falafel plate. Portions were ample, and we loved saffron rice, tabbouleh and hummus sides. All were full and pleased by the meal. Hidden gem well worth a visit. read more

What a great stop! Love a good food truck. Would definitely recommend this little spot. No real tables but they have a long bench to sit at while you eat. The food was very good. Chicken was better then the beef plate in my personal opinion, but both were very good. Will be back read more

First time I tried shawarma fries was in London. It was delicious and loved it. Shawarma is London's late night comfort food spots open after you've gone clubbing. Socal has taco shops, London has Shawarma. You don't have to go to London to try shawarma when we have it here in Chula Vista! I ordered a beef shawarma sandwich. It was savory, fresh, and comfort. I will ask for extra sauce next time. That sauce with the pickles is finger Lickin good. Shawarma is a must try, you'll like it. read more

I haven't written a review In a while but this place really deserves 5 stars. We stumbled across this place by accident. We had falafel plate, Beef shAwarma bowl, lentil soup, beef tika, and baklava. Excellent all around and well priced with good portion sizes. The lentil soup was perfect. Exactly the way I've had it while traveling around the Mediterranean. But what puts them over the top was the service. It's a food truck. But the chef politely came out and asked how everything was. He got us more lentil soup at no charge when he noticed that we licked the bowl clean. He got our toddler an extra serving of shawarma too. Just wow. The generosity and service was astounding. They more then earned this 5 star rating based on food alone, but It's extra special when they treat you like family. read more

This place is a breath of fresh air in the Southbay. We don't get many options like this outside of tacos, Ceviches, taco shops , etc etc mostly fast food here in the South Bay too.. Life changing shawarma here at this food truck. I ordered the #5 beef shawarma plate and my wife ordered the Greek salad plus chicken on top which she loved and said was "super bomb" and gives 10 out of 10 rating, I shared my shawarma plate with my 9 year old and he loved it as much as I did. Our other son prefers the mariscos trucks next door so he kinda missed out, but not really because fish tacos are as good as holographic charizard Pokémon cards in his world. we will definitely become regulars here at this heavenly new institution that is a major plus for our little neighborhood. Thanks guys for making this day even better than it already was. AND TO LOUISE M., who gave a 1 star review based on PPE masks, really? Like really? You have the audacity, and so does karma. Pulled over for fish tacos but this food truck was parked right behind it so we made a last minute decision to go here instead. So glad we did. Wowowowoowowowowow! This food truck is amazing! I have to say the sauce is fireeeee. My only regret is not asking for extra sauce on the items I got. My favorite item would have to be the secret fries! They do half orders as well. The fries are sooo crispy and crunchy. It's not too salty. They are not cheap on the meat. Both chicken and beef wraps was loaded with meat. The location has a parking lot which makes it easy for customers to get the food and go! Also, the workers were extremely nice read more

What a welcome new addition to the neighborhood! I spotted this new food truck in the Jaroco parking lot the other day, as it's on my regular dog-walking route. I didn't have my wallet on me, but I popped my head around to check out the menu. The young lady working in front cheerfully greeted me and brought me a menu. I've been thinking about it ever since! Walked up today, and received friendly and quick service, and was offered a taste of their new dessert while I waited. I got the chicken cream chop wrap and an order of the secret fries topped with beef shawarma. I didn't realize the wraps all come with fries, and it was sooo much food. Get in the car NOW and get over to SECRET SHAWARMA! Read reviews and new to area and had to try. Sooooo SOOOO TASTY! Ordered the beef shawarma sandwich. Love how it is cut into sushi size pieces. When I got back to the jury room to eat my meal, I saw that there was a nice quantity of the fresh salad and the grilled vegetables but the meat was piled high! I stumbled upon the Secret Shawarma food truck in Golden Hill, and it was the best surprise ever (since I was looking for lunch!). There were so many vegetarian options, but I settled on the Fattoush Salad (which was just the right amount of tart and spice) and a side of Yellow Basmati Rice (which was seasoned to perfection). They even threw in a free sample of a new dessert, which was like a sweet biscuit cake in a sweet creamy sauce. The whole meal was delightful and satisfied all of my cravings for the afternoon.
