    Quesabirria and consomé
    Jenna P.

This place is in my top favorite birria spots, especially because of their birria fries! An excellent option in Linda Vista if you're in the area and don't feel like driving super far for a legit birria experience. We ordered the quesabirria tacos and birria fries. YUM. The tortillas for the tacos were perfection. Not soggy at all, not overly crunchy where they break, but the ideal texture of chewy and crispy. Held all the juicy meats in. And the consomé was a great balance of flavors to dip the tacos in. The fries were SO GOOD. I'm not usually one to order fries, but wow I could go to town on these! So much quesa fresca and tasty birria together, all the toppings and sauces, ugh so good. Every bite was covered with the fixins. Overall, love this place and glad I ate here. I'm taking my mom here next week since she's been asking about it ever since I showed her the pictures lol!

This is a SECRET gem in San Diego. Literally one of the best quesadillas I've had in a LONG time. The meat is extremely tender and melts in your mouth, which pairs really well with the slightly crisp exterior. I also tried the Birria tacos and a quesadilla pizza, which were also EXTREMELY on point. I would go OUT OF MY WAY to get this.

We live so close to Birria Spot and so glad we tried it! Everything they have taste so good!! We have ordered their Birria Vampiro, Grilled Cheese with Consome, and their Birria Ramen and nothing disappointed!! Fernanda was the one that took our order and she was super friendly!(: if you're in the area definitely recommend and totally worth the wait!!

I loved this food truck!! Im always looking for more birria places and im so glad to have seen this one! I believe their hours first said they close around 6 or 7 but we called and they were open later! Staff were very friendly and our food came out quickly! We got the quesataco and rolled taco. Both were excellent!! Quesataco isn't the best i've ever had but I still enjoyed it. Rolled tacos were SO GOOD though. Was probably my favorite item! The seating it all standing seating, but there was plenty! I believe they are mostly in the parking lot in Linda Vista, but theres lots of parking and its very accessible! I would def come here again

Soo good ! I used to go down to San Ysidro just for Birria tacos, and I'm soo happy that the is truck popped up in Linda Vista. The guy warned me about the Quesabirria size and I still went for it- a slice in, I was stuffed ! Very great, sufficing portions and friendly customer service. I don't mind if the prices are shy higher than another taco/ Birria truck because this is QUALITY for sure ! Overall, I will for sure make this my go to place for Birria tacos

Was looking to grab some quick takeout mexican and came across this spot right off the 163 and gennesse. Its a food truck semi permanently parked on the American legion parking lot on the corner. Menu is limited, even more so when they told me thier fryer was down. So I ordered 2 tacos and the quesadilla. Total with tax and tip was $20. This better be some dam goood birria for that price. Took a seat while waiting for my food, they have a few bar tops with high chairs scattered under a pop up awning as well as a 2 tables with 4 chairs set up. Not too long later they brought out my food telling me that the hot sauce was also in there. Got home and opened up the bag and was immediately disappointed in the portion sizes. Even the hot sauce they included was underwhelming. It was first time I had gotten hot sauce in baggies like I was buying some drugs. Reminded me of baggies of crack you see on tv and in movies being sold o the streets. Pretty funny until you realize this is no where near enough sauce for a meal. I first tried the taco, with the red hot sauce. The taco was good, good tasting birria and fresh onions and cilantro, and a nice tasting tortilla. The hot sauce didn't even last a single taco. Up next is the quesadilla. This was the highlight of my meal. Cheesy meaty goodness, this was worth the $10 price tag. Plenty of cheese, plenty of meat, great flavor. Overall good food but the portion size is a little off for the price. Definitely ask for more hot sauce. 2 dime bags isn't enough.

This spot recommended by a friend and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner!! I had their Taco Tuesday special: 3 quesa tacos for $10. Gotta start out with basics at a new place, amiright?? Anyways, it was deeeeeeelicious!! The only thing was the salsa could use more heat (I LOVE spicy!!). Will definitely be back!!

Just ate there on impulse and was not disappointed. Prices were great and service was pretty quick. Solid location on the corner of Genesse and Linda Vista Rd. I will be going back.

Delicious, Delicious, Delicious!!!!! This place is awesome. Friendly service and delicious food. I got the queso birria taco and the flavors were amazing!! I went back for seconds.

    birria quesatacos

Delicious! We ordered birria quesatacos, birria fries, and the birria pizza. Quesatacos: crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Definitely recommend. It doesn't come with consommé, but the meat is juicy enough. Birria fries: surprisingly light, a good balance to heavier tacos. Birria pizza: 8 large slices of heavily topped double later crispy tortillas. Comes with a side of consommé. Worth the $18!

Birria Quesadilla you get full easily and it taste so good. Get the consome

Best birria spot. Hands down. So glad I found this gem in San Diego. And they're really cool stag. I go there once a week with my friends. Not gonna be surprised if I gain weight lol

    Birria tacos

Ohh my gosh been wanting to try this place since it is close by and it was delicious! My girlfriend and I had the birria tacos and consume. The flavor was on point. We will definitely be back to try more items. The service is nice, friendly, and fast which is always a plus ! Must try and they have reasonable prices.

You order and pay first, then they call your name when everything's ready. Service was nice and straightforward. The salsa bar was clean and stocked with fresh limes, two salsas, and radishes. There are a few tables inside plus a bigger table, but we chose to sit outside on the patio. It was clean, comfortable, and the weather made it easy to eat outside. Cabeza: $3.69. Super juicy and packed with flavor. If you like cabeza, this one hits. It came with onions and cilantro and didn't need much else. Lengua: $4.38. Lengua is usually my go-to, and this one was cooked really well. Not greasy at all, which I appreciated. The texture was right, and the flavor was solid, especially with extra lime. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't order more than one at that price. Adobada: $3.69 each. These were my husband's favorite. They come with a creamy green salsa that isn't at the salsa bar, and it pairs really well with the pork. Probably the safest order here. I'd come back to try other items since they have a lot of different cuts and styles, but the prices do make you pause a little, especially if you're ordering multiple tacos.

You now have to pay first, then wait for your food to be made. I actually preferred the old setup where you could walk to the different stations, pick your tacos, watch them prepare everything fresh, get it packed up, and then pay at the end. It felt like part of the experience. We also have to talk about the pricing. I remember when these tacos were around $1.25 each. Now they're over $4 for a mini street taco. I understand this is California and the cost of goods has increased, but that is a drastic jump. That said, I don't want to take away from the food because the tacos are still excellent. I ordered two buche tacos and a quesadilla, and both were 10 out of 10. They don't miss when it comes to seasoning and flavor. The service is still quick as well. My only real complaint is the price. It feels overpriced for what you're getting, and honestly, it may explain why there weren't many people there when we visited. There were only a handful of customers inside. The food is still worth trying, but be prepared for some serious sticker shock.

After some research, my wife discovered this hidden gem tucked away in an up-and-coming part of the city, just a short 3-mile drive from our hotel--and it was absolutely worth it! The carne en su jugo was incredible--tender beef, smoky bacon, and hearty beans all simmered in a rich, peppery broth with just the right amount of heat. Blanca, our server, was wonderfully friendly and made us feel right at home. Although it's not in the typical tourist areas like the Gaslamp or Mission Beach, this little restaurant is well worth the visit for anyone looking for authentic flavors and warm hospitality.

Instead of simply explaining there may be an extra charge, one of the workers came out making comments about how "that's a lot of sauce for one burrito," which honestly felt unnecessary and unprofessional. To make things worse, the business response on here exaggerated what I even asked for. I never asked for 9 salsa cups -- I asked for 6 total (3 red and 3 green). The salsa cups are also extremely small, which is why I asked for extra in the first place. The issue was never really about paying extra. It was about how the situation was handled. Taco shops all across San Diego either have salsa bars or don't make customers feel uncomfortable for asking for extra sauce. If there's a limit or additional charge policy, that's completely fine -- but it should be clearly posted beforehand instead of making comments toward customers after they order. The food is decent, but professionalism and customer service matter too. This experience definitely changed my opinion of the place. I attached photos for reference. The salsa cup they serve is the one next to the lighter, and as you can see, the portions are extremely small. That's the reason I asked for extra salsa in the first place. I also included a comparison photo from another taco shop in San Diego that has a full salsa bar and doesn't make customers feel uncomfortable or judged for wanting extra salsa.
