I spent some time inputing info onto their onsite computer as a walk-in and was given a 40 minute wait time. Already I regretted not making an appointment. Plus the area was a bit dirty with discarded food bits and containers left under a couple of seats. My name was called minutes later. I was told that they were completely booked the rest of the morning and it would be late afternoon until I was seen. She wanted to ensure I understood the situation-an extremely kind thing to do. I ended up cancelling that walk-in visit and am forever grateful to the health care professional who saved me from what could have been HOURS of very uncomfortable waiting. Sheeba Thomas at CVS minute clinic is incompetent rude and an absolutely disgusting human being. I am shocked to have to write a review for something so ridiculous. I had an appointment to have my TB test read. The follow up appointment was made by the doctor at the minute clinic. I was an hour early for my appointment. After waiting for Sheeba to recognize we had already waited an hour. Leading up to my appointment time she had no patients and sat in the room doing nothing. Eventually calling me back for the appointment 17 minutes late. She takes us into waiting room and says we are 7 minutes past 72 hours and we have to have another test performed. She said it wasn't her fault it was my fault for not scheduling the appointment at a better time. (They made this follow up appointment for me) She then became vulgar and disrespectful and then told me I needed to leave that she wasn't reading my test and further more I needed to make a new appointment to get a new test. When I asked if she was being serious she called security on me. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. All of this took place in front of my young daughter. The fact that you allow such worthless rude incompetent people work for you is sad. What's worse is she has a license to practice medicine. I've used Minute Clinic in South Austin for years and always got the treatment I needed. However, this was the first time for me to come see one up north since it's closer to where I live now. Firstly, the lady (nurse?) obviously wanted me out of there quickly. I was so sick, swollen throat, coughing, rolling fevers, the whole nine. I was SICK. She tested me for the common illnesses and then told me she was going to prescribe me cough drops. Fine, but lady didn't even tell me what was wrong with me??? Then I go to the pharmacy and they say nobody put in for anything. They even called other locations. Mind you, she looked at my throat and said it was "fine" when it was obviously really red & swollen, and I had fluid behind my eardrums. I want to add, she was nice enough to me till I had to take my hoodie off and she saw my sleeve of tattoos. Then it was a whole different experience. She wanted me out of there 100% after that and kinda treated me like I'm some bum off the street looking for drugs or something. I was very obviously ill and she shooed me away. Thankfully I went to a real ER with real doctors who successfully told me I've had a sinus infection that's worsened due to the lack of treatment, thanks to this lady here. I'm usually quite forgiving, but the way I was handled here was not ok and not how someone who goes into the healthcare profession should be treating people. To make it worse, the one seemed to be training the other. I was there for an hour. Many questions were asked twice. I was feeling very poorly. I am sure you can understand how I wanted them to hurry things along. 2. Affordable I wanted to make sure that this visit was covered under my health care plan. My PPO seemed to have no record of minute clinic in their computers and I couldn't find it on their website. I finally called Minute Clinic direct who assured me that I would only have to pay my normal co-pay. Nice. 3. CVS shouldn't be in this business. My only experience, coronavirus testing, was horrible. After 4 days waiting for results, they inform me it leaked and they'll have to do it over. Accidents happen. But, they have no way of contacting them to make it up. Their customer service says reschedule it on line. I say I needed the results the next day and they say let us trasfer you. Three times they trasfer me to a busy signal. I ask for direct number and it is CVS's main store number. What a nightmare. If you need them for an emergency, I can see using the most convient place. I tested positive for Covid in June 2022, and when I decided to schedule a virtual MinuteClinic visit, I didn't realize I was making a big mistake. I thought I would be saving the hassle of going in person to see my doctor and helping to prevent further exposure to others, so I went online and booked a MinuteClinic visit through CVS. I input my insurance information and the appointment was booked. The doctor - Karen Morrissey - was just going through the motions and seemed indifferent to my case, but I figured hey, it's not my usual doctor, what do I expect? Little did I know at the time, that her practice was out my network coverage area (this was in no way indicated when the appointment was booked). It would be five months before I would realize this when I received an overdue bill for $150 in November! I spent 45 minutes on the phone, transferring between my insurance company and the MinuteClinic customer service (which was 45 minutes wasted as the customer service agent was incompetent and had to ask four times for my account information before ultimately inputting it wrong). I am tired of dealing with this, so after receiving another overdue bill in January, I just paid the full balance. Lesson learned: NEVER USE MINUTE CLINIC. EVER. read more

I have recurring sinus infections and decided to visit the Minute Clinic on South 27th/Howard in Milwaukee after work on a SATURDAY!!! Go to a real doctor. I went in here for a gross cough and code and was diagnosed with bronchitis. She prescribed me three medications that were the equivalent of an over the counter drug (like fancy robitussin) which didn't help in the least. Seriously, in the least. I feel I should have read more reviews before choosing to visit this clinic, but I was in a pinch. I was third in line around noon on a weekday. I waited 1 hour and 25 minutes before even seeing the Nurse Practitioner, while watching two other nurses bustle in and out of the other clinic door, completely ignoring the building line of miserable folks in the doorway. Though they did take the time to comment to each other about how long the wait list had become before leaving. Thanks ladies, I didn't notice. The NP was a bit slow moving, and maybe hard of hearing, as I frequently had to repeat myself in a much louder than necessary tone. This was a bit painful to do with strep throat. She rarely even looked at me while speaking to me. Reminded me a little of the nurses I watched leave earlier. I know I'm just another sick broad in the long line of coughing, grumbling patients, but I was able to force a smile for ya... throw one back at me, please. I was a bit taken aback when the total without insurance was $112 ($124 with the prescription) as I had seen the reviews for less, and the exam cost listed on their wall was much lower. The little tests they run are a bit more than expected, which seems deceiving. Did get my meds, though quite a bit shorter on time and money for the rest of the day. All in all I'm pretty positive I can find a much better inexpensive clinic in Austin. **UPDATE** I am updating this review because I received a message from Minute Clinic asking how I was doing and to call with any issues. My symptoms have become worse since my visit Tuesday (It's Friday), so I called them back to request a different prescription. "No," the lady says, "we recommend you see your general practitioner. Or you have to come back in to be re-evaluated." Are you kidding me? So I'll have to go back in to CVS, wait over an hour, deal with grumpy staff and be overcharged all over again to MAYBE be diagnosed properly and get a prescription that actually works? Absolutely not. I don't know about anyone else, but when I had a general practitioner if they prescribed something that didn't work I could call within a week and get a different prescription. Now I'm looking for a general practitioner. For strep throat. When the simple and inexpensive solution is a different antibiotic. Don't wast time and money with CVS Minute Clinic. I wish I could choose negative stars. This was by far my worst CVS minute clinic experience ever - mostly because I was never even looked at! I came and signed in. The only sign around said that they were running low on flu shots. Seeing as I didn't need a flu shot, I didn't mind. About 30 minutes later the sign changed to "seeing no more patients today" - but nothing was said to those of us still waiting. After an hour and a half of waiting, and now being second in line, I was very rudely told by the nurse practitioner that she won't see me. I told her I signed in before her sign went up and she yelled at me that I didn't. Never going back here, that's for sure! read more

So I got this horrible throat infection this week, making it the third time this specific illness has plagued me in my life. Previous times when I went to the doc about it they couldn't tell me what exactly it was. Being familiar now with the onset of one the most painful experiences ever, I fought it with antibiotics purchased in Mexico last year. I was seeing some improvement but it was still incredibly painful, so I opted to try one of the Minute Clinics to see if I was on the right track. I arrived a bit before noon and was seen immediately. The PA Jane Grougan was incredibly friendly and attentive as I described my ailments both current and previous. Then I cringingly told her about my self-medicating with Mexican antibiotics. I wholly expected to get bitched out. Not the case! Jane told me she could run some tests on the cultures, but given my previous experiences, it would probably do no good and cost me extra as well. She said that while self-medicating wasn't preferable, it was certainly a better option than most facing us uninsured folks. She encouraged the use of my antibiotics, told me when and how to dose with it, and saved me money by not writing me another antibiotic prescription. She suggested home remedies and over-the-counter meds to help with the pain, and didn't even charge me for the visit! I couldn't have been more impressed with my Minute Clinic experience. It was so much more enjoyable and painless than other Doc-in-a-Box times I've had. Clean, quick, and definitely cheap. read more

Stay away from this place!!!! Let me start my saying that I am a general manager of a business in Kearny Mesa. About three months ago, we were looking for an area clinic chain to be our worker's comp provider. I called Minute Clinic to speak to someone; and as soon as they picked up, they put me on hold without asking. I waited over 30 minutes, listening to piano music, and then I finally had to hang up. I called another clinic, and the exact same thing. And I called another and another after that. Exactly the same thing at each one. After I had finally had enough, I wrote a one-star review, and hammered them for the poor way they run their business. Funny, I got some kind of response that they were "sorry for the bad experience" I had. A one-off is understandable; but this is chain-wide. Well, over this last weekend, I developed a double ear infection which was really painful. My wife made me promise to go to a clinic and get it looked at. So I thought: "I live not very far from the Poway Minute Clinic, in the CVS store off of Pomerado, and I'll see for myself if the actual staff in there are as bad as the people who own and operate it. So I dropped in at about 3:15 pm, and signed-in on the kiosk (there's no staff there, except for a Nurse Practitioner, who is in a small examination room). The computer screen said that my wait was approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes; so I dug-in and waited. And I waited and waited and waited. At least no piano music this time. But I ended up wandering around the store; going outside; visiting my car several times; sitting on the floor; sitting in the plastic chair; being hunched over a CVS shopping cart; etc. The clinic was scheduled to close at 5:30 pm, and there were still people waiting ahead of me. When 5:30 pm came, the computer screen with everyone's waiting times reset, and it told us to come back the next morning. But I still hung out and waited. The last guy who went in must have been in the exam room for almost 45 minutes. No exaggeration. I'm not sure what they were doing in there. My speculation is that it must have been a surgical procedure or psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Not sure, but the timeframe fits. It parallels the DMV's waiting time. I ended up leaving two hours and 30 minutes after coming in. I got off of work early, and blew through all that time, and I'm now sitting home, with a double ear infection, and nothing to do about it but to look for another clinic tomorrow. But after today, I just want to say a few things. After I complained several months ago, the service is still the same: they don't answer their phones, and now, I have first-hand experience--and verifiable proof--that the company is really INCOMPETENT. If they cannot even answer their phones, or if they take EXCESSIVE amounts of time to see patients, WHY would anyone trust them with their health decisions and their body? It's probably a good thing that they didn't see me because, given such treatment, they would likely have diagnosed me wrong and/or written an erroneous prescription. ---------- I have been running businesses for almost three decades. The business operators who do not care what happens; or do not respond to customer feedback and then correct bad practices; or, just treat people with a "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude--those are the ones I really warn others about and, I rub salt in their wound every chance I can get. If the business operators are okay with it, then so am I. Gladly. Because they are so disrespectful to their customers, that's why, and I'm only giving them what they like and are acclimated to. Why would investors tolerate these sorts of business practices? I'm not really sure. *Hypothesis #1: The investors are "hands-off," and are only interested in an ROI. *Hypothesis #2: The "above-store-leaders," i.e. area managers, area directors, etc. are not really involved in day-to-day business activities, but are instead "spreadsheet jockies" as they work from a laptop in various Starbuck's, while not on vacation or not in a director's meeting in some other city. Hypothesis #3: Each Minute Clinic is independently operated by the pharmacy or other anchor store it's embedded in; and as a result, the owners are not actually involved in the Minute Clinic operations. In organizational development, that's called "silo-ing." Just like farm silos, and how each holds a different grain or produce item, the CVS (at least in the Poway Road situation) has no clue about how people are being treated, nor do they monitor the nebish-inspired phone system arrangement. They simply look at the receipts at the end of the day, and think that they made money. An experienced mom once gave me the advice of keeping a mental note of where are the closest urgent care clinics are. She sagely told me that children never get sick M-F 8-5, and I soon found out that she was right. We have been to most of the local urgent cares in the Anderson Mill area. The ones we like the best are the RediClinic at HEB and this MinuteClinic at CVS. We've always had great service here. I love that you can secure your spot online. Plus, I love to kill time by shopping at CVS. They are closed on Mondays though. read more

My first-time visit. On a Wednesday morning from home around 9AM, I held my place online with a 18 minute wait time. It prompted me to be at the location 5 minutes early before my scheduled time to complete my registration and check-in at the kiosk on site. By the time I drove there, it was already time for me to check-in. Perfect. There was already one person inside with the PA when I arrived, so after completing my check-in on the kiosk I waited less than 10 minutes to be seen. The less than 10 minutes of waiting included watching the person before me leave and most likely (hopefully) the PA disinfecting the communal chair and mat in the room. Not bad, I wasn't in a rush nor was the reason for my visit an emergency. Bottom line: You go in-and-out. Don't expect much socialization in your 1:1 session as the workers there are (most likely) very busy people. The PA asked for the reason of my visit, gathered my medical history, took my vitals, examined me, diagnosed me, sent me home with a summary of my visit including additional information about my diagnosis, and sent a prescription order to my pharmacy (which was ready for me to pick up in less than 1 hour). I never did get her name until I asked for it as I was stepping out the door. Like I said, you go in-and-out. But that's okay, because all I wanted from this visit was a prescription for my accurate self-diagnosis that matched hers. I paid $60~ with insurance for a $100~ cash visit. Nice. (I did call my insurance in advance to make sure this visit was covered AND it was my insurance who recommended me to go MinuteClinic for a cheaper alternative than urgent care for my self-diagnosis.) By the time I left, there were 3+ people waiting in line. Oh boy, now that's going to be a wait because she spends about 20~ min with each person. I had a great experience. I did wait about 30 min to be seen but there's nothing you can do about that, it's way better then sitting at an urgent care for 2 hours with a bunch of contagious people. The FNP I saw was great, she took a thorough history and examination. Which as a nurse myself I give her props for because she has to do the job of about 3 people. She doesn't have an MA or other nurse to help, she takes care of everything herself including dealing with insurance. I don't think people give these providers enough credit for what they do. We arrive and the code on our reservation won't work, there is no one to help you and when we finally do let them know that it won't accept the code they tell us it will be another 30 minute wait. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. The nurse told me that she does not like to prescribe medication for walking ammonia so she refers all patients to the emergency room. I went to the walk-in emergency room, which created ANOTHER bill, waited 3 hrs to go through the entire process, all to be given a z-pack. Woke up with a serious rash over 85% of my body, thought I'd get seen by a PA or NP, as I'm a nurse, just want A Rx for a steroid and something to help with the itching. I signed in at the kiosk around 12, waited around, then read that they will text me 30 min prior to my appointment. I returned about 1.5 hours later, after receiving my text-that I need to return within 30 minutes or I would lose my spot. An hour later the NP/PA popped her disheveled head out of her office to advise she was taking a 30 minute lunch. Horrible clinic. The kiosk said doctors were at lunch till 2:30. Pretty late lunch. But okay. I arrived at 2:30. It said they're were 7 people ahead of me but I was the only one there. And that my wait time was an hour and 55 minutes. Waited till 3:30 and still no patients or doctors. I went to the pharmacy and asked if they could help find the doctors. They said they are contracted and they pretty much come and go as they please. Waited till 4. Still nobody. I finally left. This place just needs to be shut down. Don't go here if that dumb PA is working! I went in thinking that I had strep and my rapid test came back negative but she "wanted to be 100% sure" so she sent it to the lab. Terrible. My 30min wait was actually 1.5hrs. Once inside lady stepped out to close down and clean up her station instead of tending to the sick patient whose been miserable waiting for her. Also answered a call while in the middle of working on my stuff. Lastly, when asked questions for my file to get an understanding of my illness she repeatedly interrupted my answers. I actually asked her to repeat what she said bc I was still talking. None of them seems to know how to use a keyboard with more than one finger at a time. Don't go here. Loved my experience here. Yes, it was a long wait time even though there was only one person in front of me but once I was seen, I understood why it took so long. The RN/NP throughly goes thru your history and symptoms before she checks on your vitals or why you came into the appointment. I'm very happy that I came in and recommend it to others if you are needed an appointment. I was given a prescription after my visit and only had to wait 15 minutes to receive it at the pharmacy.
