Augustin-Wheeler, MD claimed I had to do a telehealth appointment (charged full price for a 5 minute call) to do so. Multiple times over years. 2.) Yes, my current doctor met the requirements for my blood work etc. But they also have the ability to REMIND ME and TELL ME when I need that bloodwork. For years: San Gabriel Family Medicine: Rosie A. Augustin-Wheeler, MD would NOT tell me. I would have my refill denied and it would take multiple days to hear back from San Gabriel Family Medicine: Rosie A. Augustin-Wheeler, MD WHY I couldn't get my Rx filled. I often had to wait for a call-back because they couldn't tell me--??!! *Terrible service. And completely unnecessary requirements and no communication--and in contrast my new doctor's office has met all my service needs. She is thorough and proactive with her healthcare approach. She also stays current on the healthcare industry to ensure you get the best care and most current protocols based on ethnicity where relevant. This sets her FAR apart from other physicians in the area. I would drive a million miles to see Dr. Supkay. Setting up appts, request of refills, insurance is all an ease due to the excellent attentional to detail & communication. They also have an amazing patient portal which makes communication with Dr Supkay & her nurse very easy. You can also make refill requests & get lab results from the portal. I absolutely LOVE that Dr Supkay does NOT keep your lab results hostage. As soon as CPL completes them, Dr Supkay allows us to see them. And she follows up to discuss of course. The convenience of CPL being located on site makes any follow up labs easy breezy. Highly recommend Dr Supkay as part of your medical care team!!! I had to see someone else and then they moved. I recently went on Yelp to find a new doctor and saw that Dr. Chikkala was still at the same place!?? WT? I left another message, again, no response! Then he tells me that I have to find another doctor because she won't have any information from the last 2 years?? Well, they can get that information from the last group I was at. He proceeded to then just make up stuff and it got ridiculous. He made no sense, I realized he was just being an ass. I got in within two weeks of my phone call. The office is clean and there are lots of seats. Our appointment was with Dr. ALBA. She was knowledgeable, she was kind, she was sufficient, she answered all the questions patiently. She listened to my 85-year, old mother patiently. I'm very happy I chose this doctor. The reason for the four stars instead of the five is because of the front desk and the check-in procedure. It's extensive to the point of being a bit unreasonable. One hour before the appointment time, They emailed me a very large amount of computer work to be done. I had to do it while my husband was driving. When we got there, they gave us the same information again in paper and we had to fill it out in paper. This is not a first time patient procedure. This is an every time procedure. There was people in there, complaining about these procedures verbally at the front desk while I was there. Since I find this medical doctor to be exceptional, I will fill out any papers that I need to every time I bring my mother to this doctor. If you're looking for a great medical doctor, Dr Alba is a good choice, but be ready for the front desk, it's quite a challenge.
