I purchase the swim package that's originally $300 but with the discount the new price was $240. My daughter and I were excited for the lessons that were supposed to start on 1/12/2025. On 1/11/2025, I received a call from BKLA stated that their contract had expired and they were relocating to another location. The other location was in a different area of Brooklyn, only offered lessons on Saturdays and Sundays, and only evening classes (specifically after 5 o'clock). This did not work with my schedule so I was told I had the option to cancel without being charged. I agreed to cancel my order on 1/11/2025. Today 3/7/2025, I have yet to receive a refund or any contact from BKLA. I've tried numerous attempts at outreach but their number continuously rings out or sends me to voicemail. I've left multiple voice messages, but to no avail. DO NOT do business with this company unless you want to be scammed out of your money. Such a horrible experience!! I would NEVER recommend anyone to purchase any service from this business. All I want is my refund so I can move forward in placing my daughter in a swimming program.

Each session my daughter is doing the same moves and they instructors dont differentiate levels. Plus no reputable swim program teaches people to swim with floaties. I reached out several times to swim Directors who have changed as well as the VP of customer Relations. Even the founder herself Tamara Galloway was contacted through linkedIn. She looked at my message and gave no response. These people do not care about customer service or providing quality service.

The Canarsie Blinks gym definitely deserves better…read more It's one of the few gyms in the area with a significant number of Black women, which is important because cardio equipment, in particular, is lacking and outdated compared to gyms in other neighborhoods, even ones just miles away. For example, the Blink Fitness at 2166 Nostrand Ave, near the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Junction Road, is much better than this location. Additionally, the Blink Fitness at 81 E 98th St in Brownsville offers a better experience with updated equipment and a more accommodating atmosphere. The equipment at this Canarsie location, on the other hand, feels worn out--loose, light, and ineffective. Some of the treadmills and step climbers are either broken or overcrowded, and there just aren't enough machines to meet the demand. This gym serves a lot of Black women in a predominantly Black neighborhood who depend on reliable cardio equipment, but I've noticed many of them are forced to go elsewhere. It's frustrating because a good gym location should serve the people in the community well, and this one doesn't seem to. I also had a strange experience in the locker room: there was a guy with a leaf blower drying the floor, and when I walked past, he yelled at me for walking on the wet floor. This was really off-putting. I understand he wanted the floor dry, but using a leaf blower seems like an ineffective and unprofessional method for a gym. I've never seen anyone use a leaf blower in a gym, and as someone who worked as a custodian before, I can tell that a mop or towel would be much more effective. It just added to the overall sense that this location isn't up to par. On a positive note, the lifting equipment is fine if you're into weight training, and the staff downstairs is friendly. If you're looking for something quick to drink, there's a dollar store nearby that sells energy drinks and water. I also like the smoothie and bowl shop across the street. It's frustrating because, with all the great supporting stores around, there's no reason why the equipment here can't be updated to better serve the community.

Supposedly they have a no bullying policy. Well, on several occasions, my child and several children were being bullied, and it was brought to the counselors attention to the main offices attention, and to the owners/guy who runs it attention. supposedly the child that was bullying My child and several others should have be kicked out. That's what their policy states that didn't happen. My child had to endure being bullied or what happened was we left and did not get our money back even when brought to their attention on numerous occasions that that bullying child was still there! And bullying is supposedly against their guidelines. The situation is I have one child and they were only getting paid for one child. The kid that bullied. My child had siblings so if they kicked that child out, the parents were gonna take the other children out and ask for their money back for their children. So does sum it up if your child gets bullied, they will do nothing about it. You just make your child summer a living hell!
