The first time I went to Hebron Animal Hospital, my little dog was offered a treat. When my baby wouldn"t eat it, I was told that there was something wrong with her because she had refused to eat it. i explained that my dog had just eaten and was also probably a little nervous because she had never been in their office before and didn't know them. However, he kept insisting that she eat it and shoving it in her face was not working. He then explained that the reason that they offer the treats is to determine if there is something wrong with the dog. This "wanna-be psychiatrist" continued insisting she take the treat until I finally had to ask him to please stop and to please get on with the exam. I felt like I was in the middle of a "Saturday Night Live Skit!" I had determined that I was never coming back. However, there came a time when I needed a Company that would do home visits and they were hard to find in my area except for Hebron Animal Clinic. i reluctantly scheduled them, only because I was hoping it would be more comfortable for my baby this time. So my next wierd experience with Hebron Animal Hospital was when David Hale and Megan Mulberry came to the house. David didn't even interact with my baby. Neither he nor Megan interacted with her...not even an exam. David just turned his head to look at her while he and Megan just stood there and stared. i think he might've touched her paw and called it a visit. Again...I felt like I was in a "Saturday Night Live Skit!" another issue with this Company is that Christine likes to interupt another receptionist while they are in the middle of helping me on the phone. i read the other negative comments regarding this place and hopefully mine will also help others to look somewhere else to take their furbabies. Please find someone reputable that is educated and Medically qualified to treat your baby. Otherwise....if you want a clown show and plenty of "comic relief..." This is the one and only place I take my dog when is needed. The staff is always great, rarely I have to wait and if I do is just a few minutes, and thats without an appointment. Everything is always spotless and the doctors always take the time to hear whats going on, explain everything and make sure you have everything you need. I tried multiple Noahs Ark's prior to finding them years ago and they dont come even close to this Animal Hospital. Highly recommend them and will continue going their even after moving away from the area. read more

This is our dog's clinic for the longest time, and I haven't got the chance of provide a feedback. For the past years that we were coming here, my dogs and family were very happy with the services we have from this clinic. The vets, assistants, and front desk clerks or all the staff seemed very friendly as helpful all the time. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you get your money's worth with the quality of care they provide. I called in this morning if I can have my miniature poodle for an emergency checkup due to having blood on his stool. The lady were able to get me in today for a 3:30 pm appointment. Their process is different due to the pandemic. I have to wait in the car, call them so I can check in, then an assistant will come take the dog from you and ask questions. Then you are asked to wait in u you sir car, and they will call you if you want to go ahead with the procedures or options of treatment for your dog. I highly recommend this clinic for your furry kids. read more

Moved to KY a few years ago and found this vet. They are awesome. Ever had a vet treat you like a number? Not spend any time with you or your pet? These guys are awesome. It's like family every time. The last visit was with our new puppy and Dr.Lloyd actually got down on the floor because she wouldn't come out from under the bench. He ended up winning her over and encouraged us to come back for "happy visits" so our dogs could get treats and loved on so they don't associate it as a bad place. Who does this? If your pets are family. Consider this your extended family. I'm not a cat guy but they have a separate entrance for cats. Come on who puts a separate entrance into a vet for cats and dogs? My family has been taking our pets to Hebron Animal hospital for over a decade now, both cats and dogs. They are the best vets in the area by far. They are straight forward with you and are not the type to try and convince you to do the most expensive option but rather the option they think would help your pet the most. Some time has passed, the pain is still bad, and will never go away. Avoid this place like the plague. 2 years ago a 'vet' looked at my dog. He had a mass on the outside of his body. They took a small sample, and tested it there, saying they could send it off to get better results. They did not do any other test, did not take his temperature, did not do x-rays, or any scans. Fast forward a year give or take, he has nasal discharge that will not go away. The same 'vet' did a quick look over and gave us antibiotics. Told us how much to give (said on bottle as well). To me the dosage seemed to be a lot, but was told it was okay. Well, he overdosed on antibiotics, and almost died. Fast forward about 9 months and he's lost weight, and isn't eating. They look at him, oh, he has a mass on his spleen. the same 'vet' says surgery 2000.00 bucks. I was fine with that, I would have mortgaged my house for my partner. Come in 2 days later for his scheduled surgery a different 'vet' says, he's got cancer throughout his body, he will die any day. Wow, one vet says, yea give us 2k we will do surgery, another (same office) says he's terminal. He threw up blood 5 days later and we had to have him put down. A 3rd 'vet' there did that, and like someone above me said, the staff was laughing, playing around, and never came when we called. I blame them a lot. Had they done better exams 2 or even 1 year ago, the cancer may have been stopped before it spread. They do very bad work. I have taken my other pets to another place, and it was night and day. We got full body x-rays, thorough exam, and wouldn't you know it, they found stuff this place missed also. I blame myself just as much for continuing to take my best friend there. I am forever scared from this experience. read more

OK, if you have an urge to be made to feel stupid just call this place. Hebron Animal Hospital. First time cat owner and this is where we took her to be examined and have her shots. She was not "treated " for fleas then. Called the office several months later because we heard fleas were really bad this year and, even though she's an indoor cat, thought we should have her protected. The women that answered the phone made me understand immediately that they do not "treat" cats for fleas. Was i asking for an examination? (I had no clue, she wasn't sick!) Well we don't give the medicine here, It's a prescription. (OK, whatever you do to give a cat protection from fleas, i need that for her.) We do not give the medication, you do. (OK) Are you a patient here? (Yes, that's why I called there. Am I calling at a bad time? I can call back. ) She was very short and not the least helpful or nice at all. She never once explained what the procedure was to get your cat protected from fleas. Just made sure I knew I was undereducated in the subject (no surprise here, but be nice!) Well, if you'll just give me a minute. What is your cat's name? (No thanks, we'll go elsewhere) This woman needs to work with plants maybe and NEVER be on the phone. Went on up Rt 18 to Ridge Rd. That vet group was extremely nice and very good with my cat. Lady on their phone made me feel quite welcome. Explained what i needed so now I'm smarter too! read more

I wish my experience at Hebron Animal Hospital had been under happier circumstances, but unfortunately my recent visit involved the painful decision of putting my grandmother's grey tabby to sleep. The poor kitty had succumbed to feline cancer and the whole family agreed he shouldn't suffer anymore. Everyone at Hebron Animal Hospital, from the receptionists to the vet techs to Dr. Dell and Dr. Wright, were so compassionate and sensitive to our needs. I highly recommend this clinic because they treated us with tenderness and helped make the grieving process a little easier. read more

We've taken our dogs to Dr. Bueter and Dr. Greenfield, ever since we moved to Northern KY. They've been amazing and caring with both of them, and more than reasonable with pricing. The office staff is always friendly and accommodating and they've always been able to fit us in rapidly, even with short notice. I'd highly recommend this veterinary practice to anyone (just as it was recommended to me by 4 co-workers). We will be moving further away shortly, and will still be making the half-hour drive here, as there's nobody we would trust more with the health of our fur-babies. read more

Brought by dog in to be put down yesterday. When we get there they didn't have the room ready yet and had to sit in waiting room with a sick dog getting barked at by another dog because they must have forgot to get a room ready? Then when we go back to the room the doctor gives the dog the first shot to make him sleepy and doesn't give him enough so he has to give him another shot! When he gives him the second shot, the poor dog starts screaming in pain!!! So now since this doctor messed up, his last moments were him screaming in pain! Then this doctor gives him the second shot to put him to sleep and misses the vein and has to give him another shot on top of that!! So he sends his assistant out to get another shot and we have to wait even more! On top of all this, in the back you can hear your employees laughing and joking it up. This is the most disgusting unprofessional vet I have ever been to. After all this garbage, we walk out and an employee comes out of the back laughing!! On the desk is a candle with a note saying please be quiet a dog is being put down, well maybe your employees should actually read that sign and maybe get a doctor that knows what he is doing! I will never use this vet again and I am going to make it a point to tell anybody I know to avoid this place at all cost! Disgusting! read more

Strike 3 your out! The first strike was during a visit when I was 6 months pregnant I was asked to get my 80 pound dog on the scale. The second strike happened when I asked the vet tech to clip my dogs nails and they refused because my dog was too energetic. I never had that problem with Petsmart Or other groomers. The third was when I called to make an appointment and was treated like a burden by the receptionist. It's a shame too because the vet was great with both my dogs. read more

My parents boarded their dog Nellie with Hebron Animal Hospital and had the occasional vet visit, and recommended them highly. Although Nellie has passed, they still talk about receiving birthday cards for Nellie every year from Hebron Animal Hospital. Is my animal alive and recovered: yes. Will I be returning to this vet: no. Problem spun out of control due to an initial lack of diagnosis. Ended up costing several thousands of dollars and a stressful near death of pet experience because the issue wasn't caught in the beginning. Everything I read online about my pet's symptoms clearly pointed to a very common issue in senior dogs but with this veterinary practice it wasn't diagnosed and addressed until it was (nearly) too late. No more close calls like this again because of vets overlooking what should (for them) be obvious. On day 1 they treated the symptoms and sent us home without identifying the root of the problem. This is what lead to a full week of chaos, ER visit and a chain reaction of events that caused my pet so much pain and suffering to the point where euthanizing had to be discussed. Not to mention the egotistic defensiveness from the vet when I professionally expressed how disappointed I was in all of this. Overlooking the cause of what's really wrong and "just treating the symptoms" should never occur. Two stars for the very kind and compassionate nurses who helped out and genuinely want to see a healthy, happy animals. read more

I adopted 2 short hair domestic cats. It was time for their annual well check. So I wanted to make an appt. I haven't had animals in a LONG time and was hesitant to go to any vets office because all my friends "complain" of the cost. I looked around and asked pet owners who they liked best and for the price and knowledgeable staff, they all said Hebron Animal Hospital. It's in a centralized location & despite having a vet closer to my house(I used to go to that one when it was the only one around and I didn't like them much), I was pleased with the extra few blocks I had to go to see these folks. They were very nice, great with my 2 cats and didn't falter or wait to see my reaction before making any kind of diagnosis about my girls. My cats were very stressed over the visit, but the staff & vet tech was patient and gentle with them. And they even let my girls wander the room which made it a little more comfortable for them. They also noticed my anxiety and put my mind at ease that my cats were being very normal. :) Dr. Greenfield was polite, professional and helped me figure out what was causing one of my cats to constantly sneeze. I received a discounted rate for having both animals there at once. The tech helped the doctor administer the cats' shots and I was in and out of there within about 40min. I also noted that the folks in the waiting room seemed happy with this place as well. The staff was pleasant and helpful (especially with it being out first time there). They were effecient & quick, but not harried or hurried. I will be recommending this place to my friends. read more

I've gone for the last time. This place is SLOW! and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!!! They seem to be less concerned about you and your pet and more concerned about what they can come up with to charge you for so they can get more money out of you than need be. I took my dog to Hebron Animal Hospital because he was sick. He was not eating, and was having trouble walking. After xrays were taken and blood work was drawn, I was told that they weren't really sure what was going on with him but it was probably an infection and he was weak and depressed. They gave him a shot, a prescription for antibiotics, and carried him out to my car since he couldn't walk that point. He died in my arms the next day. Although I did get a call from the vet and a card with condolences from the entire staff, my dog is still gone and I don't feel as though he got the care he should of had. read more

The staff is so friendly and helpful. We lost our beloved lab, Buster, last May. He was very sick and spent his last days at Hebron Animal Hospital. Dr. Hale and his staff were wonderful to our family. They were so compassionate and made a horrible situation as good as it could be. I am happy to report we have since adopted two dogs that were in need of their forever homes. The staff is so good to our furry family members. I have used Hebron Animal Hospital for 19 years, since Dr. Paul Altemule was still the owner and main vet of the hospital off Rt 20. It was a very comfortable small town office with great people and a resident cat. Dr. Lloyd bought the business when Dr. Altemule retired and bought the property where the office is now. Dr Altemule took care of our cat Phebe when we moved here and helped us say goodbye when her time came. Sprite came into our lives and then Gracie showed up on our street. We brought her in as a stray when my daughter was 3 and child and cat had bonded. We walked around his pond while he did the needed tests to make sure she didn't have Felv. Happily when he called us back in, Gracie was a healthy kitten and could go home with us and be part of our family. 2 weeks ago it was time to say goodbye to Gracie after 17 years of fun and love. I told this story because though the building is new and in a different location that small hometown feeling of caring and friendliness is still there. We had care and tenderness given to us when we had to put Gracie down due to kidney failure and old age. There was no rush and my husband came from work so we could all be there to say goodbye. The staff and Doctors are great and words can not do justice. After 17 years it was hard to see her go. Everyone was so very good with us as we dealt with saying goodbye to her. We've spent the last 2 weeks feeling sad over the void she had left in our house. She was a very vocal cat and was always in the room with us, so things were way too quiet and lonely. Shadow was a bit lost too even though she didn't like him (or any other cat). We adopted Maggie on Sunday from SAAP and she is a real honey with a sweet little meow and loves to be with the family. She cuddles and has stolen our hearts already with her funny kitten antics and watching her get used to Shadow who is a very tolerant Grandpa cat. Maggie is now a Hebron Vet cat and has been spoiled rotten with love and snuggles on her 2 visits to date. Thanks to everyone for keeping this business a great one for pets and their people. read more
