My review has nothing to do with my personal use of a rental from this place. It has to do with what I encountered while driving behind a truck with the Hecht sign on I-84 in Danbury CT on 4/30/25. Whoever was in possession of this truck had rocks/gravel stored in the back of the vehicle. The rocks/gravel were falling from the back of the vehicle, onto the highway, and flying into my car. As a result, certain areas of my vehicle has been damaged because of the flying debris. My car is a few months old and I am frustrated. read more

These folks are knowledgable and their stores are well stocked. They are generous with their time which means that at times you have to wait a bit for them to complete a conversation with another customer. We've used them for years, they are an excellent source for trailer needs. read more

Ignore all the negative reviews about Hecht. I'm assuming most of those people had zero real interest in buying a trailer and they are all from years ago. Today I worked with Mark in sales and Heather at the service counter. Could not be happier with my purchase and the service I was given from Mark. From first contact at 8 AM I was treated with respect and had all of my questions and concerns answered. Mark had me of there with my trailer in under an hour and a half. I have read all of the negative reviews. Not to discredit, and I believe those reviewers as it was their perception. Also, people are very quick to criticize and far less likely to praise. I have been to this location once before today. Once for service which went seamless. My appointment was honored they were pleasant and their work on my trailer was perfect. I visited today and was helped by Chuck Tice. Not only did he go above and beyond with me, but he put his lunch aside and took the time to explain everything to me. He solved my problem and explained it to me in layman's terms. Ignore the posts and go experience this place and make your own mind up. You will be pleasantly surprised. Chuck is the man! read more

I went in the store on Rt. 9 and the 2 salesman were busy, so I walked around for 10 minutes, then said hello, I got no response. I literally stood there for 5 minutes in front of their desks ( 1 desk for 3 ft. Away the other 7 ft. ) they never said a word to me. Talk about poor customer service! read more

I am tremendously happy with the trailer rental, price and safety, as well as with the staff and customer service!!! They gave me a significant military veteran discount and a size upgrade. I saved so much compared to uhaul. Not only that, unlike uhaul, they maintain their trailers great. It was worth making a return trip and I hope this company expands nationally and puts uhaul out of business!!! This place made my day more than once. read more

disappointed , i bought a trailer about 2 years ago i will say they are the cheapest i found however here's why . First i was blowing fuses on the first ride home to pa and had to return . ( they installed tow wiring ) they first said it was a main ground. then found a lower marker light that was not working said that's it and taped it of i said i would ground it so they could all go home . about 2-3 moths when by,, i don't use the trailer lots . i called to tell them that the wiring is blowing fuses on my truck even if the tailor is not hooked up. they said bring it in ,, by the time i got it to them because i had it about 9 months . they replaced the entire main power wire and said it was arcing some where . then they charged me $57 and said that was half. the girl said i waited to long so they gave me a break on a trailer i spent $3400 on . i had to take a day off just to get it to them. since then -i have had to re ground 1 marker light and fix loose connections on another marker light. Also the diamond plate on the front . it looks nice but is extremely thin and they have stripped half of the screws on parts of trailer. so the nice diamond plate has stated to come of and on one side stated to rip in half because its like 1/16 thin . screws are stripped on Dimond plate both sides ,, the license plate mount,, and the mount to hold side door open . last all 3 lock mounds started to rust on end of 1st year . i would do some research on this stuff see about warrantees read more

I have been here multiple times. The staff is very knowledgeable and doesn't treat you like an idiot. Customer service is excellent especially Heather and I think Mike. I absolutely recommend this place. They fixed my horse trailer but they do all sorts of trailers and I think they put hitches on. read more

Potentially one of the worst customer service experiences ever! I was interested in purchasing a trailer so I called them for information. I was treated as if I was a nuisance. After being promised a call back, I never received one. After work, I called to see if a sales representative would be available to meet with me. I was told that I wouldn't get there until five minutes before closing and they wouldn't accommodate my arrival. "We close at 5pm!" I went anyway and observed two people watch me as I walked The parking lot looking at trailers. I found one I liked and called this afternoon to order it, only to find out that it had sold earlier this morning. Taking my money elsewhere and leaving this experience on Yelp. read more

Honestly the worst most miserable employees ever been here many times seems to be worse every time

I purchased a Haulmark Transport. I could have saved money elsewhere, but thought if I had a problem, the service department looked well equipped. I got my trailer home and thought the brakes were not working. All drums cold after a 50 mile ride home. I called immediately and was told the next appointment was 2-1/2 weeks, nothing they could do. Kind of dangerous, I thought, and so much for the $55.00 delivery inspection I paid for with the purchase. I traced the brake wires and found a completely separated wire. Fixed it myself. I bought about $500.00 worth of accessories and new draw bar. The tie-downs I bought were sold to me with the incorrect bolts. I went back , a 100 mile round trip, to exchange them, and was told they were not in stock. Ok, I thought. I asked if they could mail them to me as I just spent $30.00 on gas and tolls. I was told they would not cover the shipping! I left. Will never go back. So, paid more than I easily could have and no service. I will be buying elsewhere for my next trailers. read more

Home of the changing prices! After finding the trailer we wanted to purchase on the lot, we gave the number to the woman at the desk, were given a price and provided a credit card for purchase. The next day, received a phone call saying we couldn't have that trailer, no reason given. Drove down to their facility to inquire why we could not have the trailer we already paid for and was told it was $400 more than the amount already paid. Asked them to hold the trailer to confirm we would still take the trailer at the new price; when we called back that afternoon to approve the increase, our credit card was immediately charged for the additional amount. Imagine our surprise when later that same day we receive another call telling us the price was now another $1000! Asked to speak with the manager and was told he would call in the morning. When he called he was confrontational from the get go, ending with him saying he would not sell us the trailer because we questioned his business practices. It's been 6 days and they still haven't refunded our money. read more
