chorizo taco bacon agg and cheese taco

as a mexican, this isnt mexican food!! they're like texas tacos I GUESS, but at 5 dollars for one breakfast taco i say save your money and make your food at home i guarantee it'll be better. I'm also highly disappointed at the fact they claim all their tortillas are homemade and when i asked to substitute for a corn tortilla i was again reassured they were homemade made. I only had to take one look at the tortilla and could instantly tell they were NOT homemade. I would've appreciated being told the truth so I wouldnt have bothered to swap them out. Overall the tacos lacked flavor and its just a new white person taco place that isnt worth the drive.

We enjoyed breakfast tacos this morning at Hectors! We tried a variety including egg, cheese and bacon, bean and cheese, potato and egg, and chorizo and egg. We thought the tacos were good but could have used a little more kick! Breakfast tacos are not inherently spicy; you are supposed to add hot sauce to get the spice level you want. However, their sauces were pretty bland. Since we are from San Antonio we would have preferred the more traditional red and green sauces (one of those should be hot). Overall, though, we liked the food and definitely will go back. It's very clean and comfortable and I know they plan to expand their menu. We need good breakfast tacos in Olympia so please support them!

    Bean + cheese taco

I really want to like this place, because it's such a great atmosphere but we have now gone twice, ordering different items each time- and it's just not been good. The potato, egg and cheese taco had little to no seasoning, leaving it tasting bland. The bean and cheese, was "okay" but the bottom was overcooked, and almost burnt (maybe from sitting in a hot holding tray?) The queso tasted velvetta based, and what I'd assume to find at a game day at a friends, not a restaurant. The green "salsa" was unappetizing, and looked like baby food. We weren't expecting it to look like a puree. Topo Chico was almost $5 which seemed absurd. Staff is however wonderful. I really hope they can figure this out, but feels like the food is an after thought, and the design/building took more priority.

It feels very Redmond/part of the community and is a great place for a casual meal, though the food does also hold up pretty well for takeout. The staff is great. A lot of people who work there have worked there for years and years, and it's nice to see this kind of employee loyalty. All the servers are kind and happy to be there. I go 10-12x per year and have never once had a bad interaction, or even one that was anything less than joyful. Their food is incredible. So much flavor, fresh food, delicious. My go-tos are the cheese enchiladas and the shrimp tacos. Both perfect to me. They make their own salsas and the green salsa is so good that I generally buy it in bulk when possible. The food and salsas have been consistently delicious every time I have been. Never an off meal. Lot's of options for dietary needs too- lots of gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, etc. I have also gotten catering from them and it's amazing and well loved. They put a ton of care into everything. This will forever be my favorite restaurant in Redmond!

With fast service, a good location off the Sammamish River Trail, and handy bike parking in front, we must return in summer when tables outside in front on a warm early evening would make pleasant dining. Simple menus help a restaurant run better, but for a place big enough for thirteen or more tables plus takeout, the menu is limited. Our sunny midwinter late Friday afternoon-evening found the place almost empty with one other table and three takeouts. A more varied menu with other Mexican favorites might draw a larger crowd. It's def underrated.
