This is actually a correction to a previous review The…read morereview I had posted earlier Was a mistake It was actually meant for another clinic altogether and I had posted it here by mistake I felt I got a fair evaluation during my dot physical I have non-insulin treated diabetes Which means I take non-insulin medications to control my diabetes They just wanted a recent A1C test from my primary care physician And since it was at or below 10 I passed So they didn't get ridiculous with their requirements I was able to easily find out what was required over the phone before I even showed up for the visit They basically just check for hearing, vision, numbness in the feet and hands, because diabetics can lose sensation in their feet and hands as a result of elevated blood sugars as well as excess protein in the urine Which can indicate kidney disease (It can also be a sign of a high protein diet such as low carb) Diabetes can destroy nerve endings Causing diabetic neuropathy So that's why the feet and hands are checked for numbness I've had DOT physicians ask for ridiculous things like a recent eye exam, a note from my doctor about my blood pressure, etc That's not even necessary if you pass the eye exam and blood pressure test during the exam If a person fails the eye exam while wearing their corrective lenses then by all means they should ask for a recent eye exam to make sure there are no eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma and other conditions that can be complications of diabetes So they didn't ask for unnecessary things as part of my physical Which didn't put any undue burden on me as a CDL holder I feel that a DOT exam should be focused on safety for the driver and for all of the other drivers on the road And I felt that my DOT examination was just that It was about safety, not about putting and unfair burden on me, by inconveniencing me with unnecessary requirements I have also had dot examiners lie to me and tell me that things that they were asking for were legal requirements when they were not I have even been asked for a sleep study by other DOT physicians And I was told that it was law that I had to have one Which is not true That's actually nothing but fat discrimination Because skinny people can have sleep apnea too That did not happen here at afc So yeah if you're a non insulin control diabetic, just get a recent A1C from your doctor and take it to your visit And if everything else is good Like blood pressure, vision, etc You should be fine

Everyone that helped me throughout the entire visit: Robin Alley, Semone, Laurie, Danielle and Dr Brittany Congress!! Everyone was so kind and helpful. X-rays were done. And, a couple of days later, someone from the office called to check how I was doing! I was pleasantly surprised with an urgent care that was not only thorough but kind as well. We had to call them and walk them through each charge and payment in order to prove to them we were over charged. I am also filing a complaint with the BBB. Do not go to anyone associated with Summit unless you have money or time you don't need.

I did not even sit around other patients. Well, I'm angry at this and even the insurance company was. I will still see if there's other way to file a complaint against them. The women's program has turned into complete garbage. There have been hippa violations on the…read moreweekend in clinical. The clinical director seemed very nonchalant about it. The old motel that PHP lives in has its issues as well. Drugs and alcohol making their way in, property going missing, doors being left unlocked, etc. The IOP women were moved across town and basically told to figure out how to live on their own. No cars, no jobs, no trips to the store, etc. 10 out of 10, I do not recommend.

This program is wonderful, and I truly mean that! I enrolled…read morein December of '21, went straight there after a 7 day detox in Bristol. I was treated with kindness and respect from the jump. Staff were all warm, welcoming, friendly and informative, made me feel safe and took great care of me while I did my intake paperwork there in the office. I was assigned to the Ebenezer house, which was super nice and in a great neighborhood. My housemoms were absolute angels and we bonded straight away. Everyone was amazing and I honestly felt as "at home" as possible, which is such an insane thing to say about a rehab! I was in PHP (partial hospitalization) for 30 days and then moved to IOP (intensive outpatient) which lasted 90. PHP classes were 9am-3pm, every day except Sunday. IOP was from 9am-12pm, except Saturday and Sunday. In IOP they helped and encouraged us to get a job, so that's what I did. Me and a bunch of other girls started work at a factory that was super flexible with scheduling so if I had to miss for whatever reason, no big deal. I was able to start slow and pace myself which I really liked. Eventually I was comfortable working more and I started saving so I could support myself after my time at Evolve was up. Once I graduated the program, I was offered a spot at their Graduate House (sober living) which was such an honor for me to even be considered, and I of course said yes! After staying there and working for a little over 7mo's, I was actually able to get my own place with my husband and move out which was the biggest deal to me ever. Never in a billion years did I ever think I'd be able to stand on my own two feet, let alone get clean and sober, but there I was. Evolve helped me get my life together. I won't say they helped me get my life back however, because I had no life; they helped me start a new one. A life I could be proud of. A life I thought I'd never live long enough to even have... I've overdosed and died so, so, so many times, I legitimately shouldn't be alive today, but here I am... guess my God ain't finished with me just yet. In closing, everyone at Evolve always went above and beyond for me. They only want to help and give back. They will absolutely fight for and go to bat for you, as long as you're willing to do the same for yourself. I'm truly just so very appreciative of Evolve and everyone involved with it. I have not one negative thing to say about my experience. It's just a good, solid program if you really want to get help. p.s. I'll be celebrating 3yrs clean from IV drugs December 1st thanks to all my time at Evolve (and God of course) and I'm currently going on 5mo's sober from alcohol thanks to Cornerstone of Recovery and Recovery Unplugged's virtual IOP program, (and of course God again) both absolute wonderful programs that I 100% recommend, and I pray to never look back. I am going to request another sleep clinic next time I see My Primary Care Physician but if I have to go back here I will be asking to see somebody other than Cynthia Whisenant because she makes me feel the same way. A burden, a waste of time, someone to look down her nose at, a reason for an eye roll. I've seen her a few times and this has been my impression on both occasions. I appreciate that she already knows what I have to say before saying it because she is a genius and why should I be speaking anyway? Oh yeah, I'm the patient, she is the provider, this is what we are supposed to do. Try smiling. If you have to fake "caring for a patient..." then do it. Get back to the old crew from a year ago, this one is a disapointment.
