The guy at the front desk (Hunter?) was super rude to me. I said thank you to him about 4 times. He never acknowledged me, looked me in the eye or said you're welcome! Such a turn off that THAT is the person "running things" when I visited. Will be taking my business elsewhere like AG Antiques! read more

First time to the shop, we asked about pricing on some items and cashier was very rude in his response. We didn't know each section was owned by a different vendor. Cashier, James, who owns the shop, told us to get the [expletive] out of his shop. We left our items and won't be going back. read more

This place is amazing! Every time I pop in dealers seem to have worked really hard to keep their inventory rotating either through sales or re-organization. Seem to always find something 'new', nostalgic, or hand crafted reasonably priced that keeps me coming back for more. Owner and dealers have always been so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend checking it out at Least once a month. read more

Poor service. Hunter should be mindful in how he treats returning customers. We have spent a couple thousand dollars in this place since moving to the Houston Heights a few months ago. Came in to shop with my wife and our daughter, walked passed the 3 older ladies in charge of the shop and they suddenly STOP their conversation and stared at me the entire time. why? not sure. but it made me very uncomfortable and unwanted in the shop. very rude and not helpful at all, maybe the reason why they have the same stuff. don't recommend. read more

Once every few months, I go antique shopping. Forever the bargain hunter, yes. I tend to search for items which are well made that I can either refinish or simply add "as is." On a recent inventory of my house, I realized the only brand new furniture in my house are a pair of bookcases. Those are the two cheaply-made items in my house. I like the layout Heights Antinques. It consists of many stalls on two floors. Nothing is too cluttered or overwhelming. They range from antiques to junk store staples. The front of the store definitely has a range of antiques: furniture (nothing as fancy as Heywood-Wakefield, but still nice), vanity knick knacks, apothecary bottles, lamps. As you journey to the back stalls, you shift to more of the estate sale items. Old records, old magazines, cloisonne, and depression glass. The upstairs loft houses mostly estate sale/junk shop/garage sale caliber items. I saw a life sized papier mache Egyptian coffin on my last visit. As with any store that lists "Antiques" and "Heights" in its name, most things are over-priced. Not as over-priced as most places, more...moderate. I'm certain if you found something you absolutely had to have, you could talk them down. Waited and waited for assistance from front desk person. No one else in line. She was on a call so I was patient. She was not wearing a mask and I had hoped she would put it back on when the phone call ended. Instead she came around the desk and went to speak to another vendor. Still without a mask and only inches from my face she asked of I had a question. Another vendor was adding items to his booth. Mask under his chin. A customer was shopping without a mask. The experience made me very anxious and sad. I guess Im the one in the wrong. What was I thinking by trying to shop for even one gift that was not on line. read more

What great finds! So many wonderful items to look at. I love the staff and owner. They are kind and helpful. I enjoy popping in even if i am short on time. In fact, recently i found a great Trameau mirror when just dropping by! Brought my teen and her friend and they also enjoyed poking around. Popped in on Saturday to look for some items for the new house. I like the organization of the store, it wasn't too cluttered and it was pretty easy to see all of the items. The items seemed to be organized by dealer and some stalls had signs with 20% off this area, etc.. The only downside of that is that you may not be able to negotiate as the dealer him/herself is probably not there. They have a wide variety of styles but mainly I'd say traditional and rustic. Those looking for mid-century modern will do better in Montrose. I wouldn't say I saw any great bargains - it was definitely on the pricier side. However, I did see some beautiful items that I am seriously considering. Post Round-Top I may return for some of the pieces and will update on the purchase experience. read more

EXTREMELY poor customer service. I'm easy going, went in just to seek out some information and check out what they had. Wanted to ask a question about a set of 200 year old dishes that I inherited - at the front desk, an extremely rude heavy 35-40-ish man informed me that no vendor there could help me, no one was able to give me an appraisal, no one could possibly answer any question (!?!) - I told him that I wasn't looking for an appraisal necessarily, just possibly more information from an experienced dealer/collector, as I have had no luck researching on line.... again he said no one there had any information to share.... so weird. The 2nd person at the desk, a smaller older woman, did not say anything and therefore was not helpful either. What if I had actually intended to buy anything? I'll never go again and will advise all friends the same. Instead try AG ANTIQUES- really nice vibe, endless selection and FRIENDLY PEOPLE. read more

I will give it a three on merchandise Tends to be better than some other stores of its kind. Service is mediocre at best. Went in on a Thursday afternoon and the woman behind the front counter was somewhat rude in saying hello and had a scowl on her face. Upon leaving, she and a man who worked there could not have been bothered to say thank you ,goodbye, etc.... With the counter being 15 feet from the door, it just leaves a bad impression. Here is a tip for those of you in retail or service industries; a smile, a hello, thank you or any semblance that you appreciate your customer goes a very long way. If you cannot muster that, perhaps you should work in a morgue or a nuclear power plant. read more

We are from out of town and usually antique in Louisiana. We met a few booth owners who bartered with us and we got some good deals. They had a good eclectic mix of items. Were pleased with all the things we bought. Definitely worth seeking out. read more

I think the selection here is pretty good. They have a lot of diversity and you can find some really good deals if you dig for them. The staff is also very helpful and friendly and willing to negotiate, which is always a plus when antique shopping. I gave them 4 out of 5 because there was a lot of junk to dig through and some stuff seemed like a rip off. read more

Great antique shop, if you are in Houston area it a must stop if you love antiques and vintage. There are maybe 30 vendors in this shop and in my opinion they seem to have been carefully chosen with an eye towards higher quality but a good variety. So almost no matter what your decor style you should find something you can't live without, I always do!! read more
