Pretty much every time we end up in the Heights, we come to AG Antiques for a browse. The location is good, conveniently located next to the new Jeni's Ice Cream and Jubilee (another fun shop). AG is nice because it's very big. Each stall is managed by a different owner, so there's a good variety of things to see and most everything is curated well. To be honest, I've only purchased something here once or twice, but the fun part of antique shopping is you never know what you'll find, so the variety alone makes it worth the trip.

A pretty quirky store with a mish mash of everything from old and new furniture to vinyls on sale. It's very eclectic and occupies a really large footprint on 19th and is huge inside. Definitely fun to browse around but we've never found anything to take home that wasn't insanely marked up from what you can find online or new.

If you love European Antiques you need to try AG Antiques! Lots of new French and British antiques. For designer pieces they are at a reasonable price point. I could spend hours walking around, I will definitely will be back to buy more!

Whenever I picture this antique store, I figure this is what it would look like if one of those iSpy books came to life (in the best way possible). When searching for unique, one of a kind items for my client's homes, AG Antiques always finds its way on my list. You truly never know what you're going to find. They offer a huge selection, and variety of vendors. Everything is tastefully divided into sections, and there's not a dust bunny in sight. Although the reviews seems to be mixed, as a black woman, in my handful of trips, I've always encountered friendly employees, and felt the comfort of shopping independently without being followed. I will also add, I tend to mentally tag or take a phone pic of my desired items to bring to the register only when I'm ready to check out. If the shop is concerned about patrons hauling around items, it may be valuable for the owners to display signage or otherwise set expectation to make their customers feel welcome and comfortable. If you do choose to visit, do so when you're not tight on time. It's easy to lose time meandering along the exploratory journey that is 19th street. Happy hunting!

This is a simply an antique-type consignment "mall" for lack of better words. I like this these types of shops because there is always quite a variety, and AG Antiques hits the bulls/eye on that regard. I can go in on a weekly basis and find new items if interest without seeing the same old things time after time. The new owners from a few years did a good job of cleaning up the building (the old owners had frequent graffiti left on it). And, the a/c is nice and cold in those hot months.

Surprisingly, I found this store very interesting. Before coming here, I was never a fan of Antique stores because I always thought they only catered to old people, but it turns out they carry more than dusty old furniture (does that make me old?). I saw so many cool things like baseball cards, old knives (w/ blades forged in USA or Japan and not China), tools, super old electric mixers, old fashion ice cream scoopers, creepy looking dolls, paintings, film cameras, lots of beanie babies lol. I probably spent an hour in this store just looking at all the stuff. I even decided to buy this used Schrade pocket knife (w/ the blade forged in New York) for $10. Not bad! The store is divided into several sections rented out to different sellers. Each seller carries their own piece of history, which is super cool. This means that some sections of the store may be really boring to you, but others may be really cool. It all depends on what you are interested in.

As I walked around the store, I noticed that it was more antique furniture and knick knacks. There were two booths dedicated to vintage glass. In the store front window to the right was some peach luster, avon glass, stretched vases and towards the back near the cashier station was a rather large booth that was fully lit. I looked in the lit booth where none of the price tags were showing, but it was a huge collection of Fenton Glass and some of it was carnival. As I was about to leave the store, I thought maybe to ask one of the vendors about prices and to be shown pieces. I asked one vendor who was sitting out front drinking a coffee and reading a magazine. He gladly assisted me. I asked to see the stretched opalescent glass vase as I was keen to find out the maker. He encouraged that I ask the owner who was the cashier. I walked up to her with the piece and said, "Hi" could you remind me whose the maker on this beautiful piece?" The owner gave me the biggest attitude and was being condescending towards me. She said, "and you don't know who makes this?!" I told her that I had forgotten. She said, "well obviously this is Fenton" and proceeded to look it up on Google. She goes on to mention Fenton is an American brand. She was not only ugly towards me, but her and the other vendor was prejudiced to think just because I forgot the maker on that piece that I was completely clueless on all vintage glass. The owner convinced me to buy the piece, but after dealing with her snobby attitude I decided not. Before I left, I asked the vendor guy to show me this fenton carnival glass cat and carnival glass fairy lamp. I mentioned to the guy that the cat was carnival glass, the guy tells me, "uhhh, no I don't think so because this vendor gets her inventory from China and it's iridescent glass". So then I ask him to show me the fairy lamp which I told him, it's carnival fairy lamp. He picks up the piece looks at the nametag and turns to me to say, "ohh you really do know what you're talking about because the name plate said exactly what you mentioned." I just left the store because the experience was terrible. Awful owner who has superiority complex. Lack of friendliness.

The booths are marked with a letter and number so you can keep track of where you've been! Every time I turned a corner, I discovered something different. From beautiful china and vintage collectibles to outdoor metal art and furniture, there's truly something for everyone. One of the coolest things I came across was furniture that had been used on movie sets. The workers were very friendly. When they saw us carrying items, they would tag it with our name and bring it to the check out counter so we didn't need to carry it while we browsed. I also appreciated that they have a small eating area on-site. After hours of shopping and exploring, it's nice to be able to grab a bite without leaving the building. This is the kind of place where you never know what treasure you'll find next. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Spring area and enjoy antiques, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind pieces!
