The instructor was a great communicator and demonstrated the steps in the simplest form making it easy for a beginner like me to follow along. I was actually sore the next day! The facility is quite large and offers a variety of services. We were in a large room with tall floor to ceiling windows that faces the park. It was nice to be able to see outside and enjoy the greenery. However, this also meant that the instructor was backlit. She did not turn on the lights in the room. This was okay for me, but it probably would have been better if she has turned on the lights so that we could see her better. In the hallway, there were a lot of paintings on display and they were actually for sale. They highlighted local artists and several of their works. The paintings were priced around $250. It is very reasonable considering the cost of canvas, paint, frame, and the creativity and labor that goes into the work. The front desk staff were helpful. I stopped by there first, and one woman staff member was kind enough to walk me to the room where my class took place. The gym has several of these large rental room spaces, but it also has a gym with treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, and machines The City of Richardson allows access to this facility and Heights located in opposite sides of Hey 75 for an annual fee of $70 to residents, even less if you are a senior. You can also get a membership if you aren't a resident of the city. It costs a few dollars more. It's a great deal since most commercial gyms cost $100 a month compared to the price here for an entire year! The hours change, so it is best to check the web or call the main number. It's usually open until 10pm on weeknights, excluding Fridays, but closes earlier on the weekends.

As a Richardson resident, the city will mail out letters occasionally that will provide for two…read morefree rolls of the blue bags. These blue bags are how the city picks up recycling at our curb once a week. I had such a letter and needed to get some blue bags. They are fairly inexpensive to buy if you don't happen to have a letter. The woman at the counter was so pleasant and cheerful! Richardson is a great city to live in. We are lucky to have such great city services: trash pickup twice per week and recycling pickup once per week. Also a Babic- Brush and Bulky Item Collection can be scheduled for larger bulky trash items (furniture, old appliances, etc) weighing over 50 pounds, brush and tree trimmings, etc. The pickup day is the same as your recycling day. This varies depending on where you live within the city. You can go to the city website www.cor.net for more information or to schedule your bulky pickup. There is also a phone app "My Richardson" where you can also schedule through. So convenient and easy!

In short, it is a great neighborhood park in the 75094 zip code area. It was updated and improved in 2010. The park has a brick gazebo pavilion with four 8-foot long picnic tables, a large BBQ grill and electric outlets. Be sure to check out the shaded playground area, sandy volleyball court, drinking water fountain, 31 trees, basketball court and lots of benches scattered around and one picnic table by the volleyball court. For dog walkers like myself, bikers, joggers and fur baby owners there is a 0.2 mile cement trail loop for lots of fun and exercise. Thinking about moving to the Aviary Subdivision in Murphy, Texas? All our options were explained and since we had already signed our waivers online the kids were helped into harnesses. A staff member walked through the safety video and had the kids repeat portions back to ensure they listened. I was pleased to find I was able to follow them around the gym to encourage them and take photos - even though I was not climbing. The kids are required to climb (3) walls to the ceiling before they could obtain a star on their wristband and be given access to the ropes course. This is an important milestone to complete fully, no cheating and no lying. The ropes course is high and requires height and bravery. The few tables for parents to sit watch were positioned just right and the bathrooms were clean and visible so I could watch my kids enter and exit. The 2hr time limit was actually just right, we didn't need any longer. My kiddos had fun, but all agreed they wouldn't want to come back without friends. The price is steep for 2 hours of play, so if you think you'll be a regular I suggest the pass.

I am giving it a four star instead of a five star rating for the following reasons: (1) Yelp won't let me give it a fractional rating of 4.8 or 4.5, which is what I think it should be rated as of the date of this review; (2) it is located just about a mile from Bob Woodruff Park which I rated a 5.0 and is a bigger and better park; and (3) some of the playground equipment could stand to be reconditioned or up-dated. When you spend as much time walking fur babies it is important to know your local neighborhoods and that includes the local parks. This park is a jewel for local residents and visitors. It has soccer fields, two playground areas in the main area of the park and more available on the Willowcreek trail, a rental pavilion (see more on that below), numerous uncovered picnic tables scattered around the park, two bridges, a creek and lots of trees, some wildlife, lots of benches and restrooms. My favorite part of this park is that it is part of the well constructed and maintained Willowcreek trail system. Which means that fur babies (i.e. dogs) have lots of room to sniff, explore, run, play and enjoy themselves. There is no shortage of grass or cement for dog walking and pet recreational time at this park. The pavilion holds a maximum of 50 people. The resident rental rate if $50. The non-resident rental rate is $100. Plano Parks & Recreation requires a $75 deposit. Other fees may apply. Check it out. You will be glad that you did. Are you a Plano 75074 proud pet owner?
