Keep walking down the trail and you'll find a little lake with ducks that my daughter loved. Plenty of grass area for a nice picnic! It has a couple of futbol /soccer fields. It has soccer fields and a children's play area. It's nicely kept. It does have one busy intersection as a corner, but one side actually has a bike lane. It's busy in the afternoons around rush hour after school lets out since it does border 2 schools. There's a school zone, and it helps control some of the traffic in the area.

The shallow end has a beach-type entrance that gradually slopes into the water. What drew me here was Dog Splash Day. Neighborhood pools in Richardson are open limited hours in the blazing hot summer when kids are out from school. Pools shutdown nearly a month before Labor Day because kids are already back in school. However the real fun happens on the last day of the season when they open the pool up to humans and dogs. The dogs had a blast swimming, jumping, and peeing in the pool. It was about 109 degrees on this particular summer day in August. There was very little shade, so what little they had, everyone was congregated under it. The people running the event took more cash than was advertised to get inside. City of Richardson said $6, but the gate entrance told me $7. The City of Richardson advertisement online said this was a fundraiser for the shelter, but Richardson Shelter staff on site did not acknowledge this. They said they were there to break up dog fights. Someone was kind enough to give me a pupcup which I used to lure my dog to the water. He got his paws wet, but didn't venture any closer. On his own volition, he did head over to the water to cool off, but upon it touching his belly hair, he immediately ran back to shore. Fun event! Glad I went. Will try again next year to get my dog into the water. Hopefully it won't be as hot.

Lots of picnic tables and benches clustered for a group get together. I often walk my dog here. The circumference of the park is not very big at all, but on hot days, it's just enough for my pet to stretch his legs a bit. There are trashcans on both sides of the park. There is also a dual water fountain for humans and pets.

And while that makes the park a very good one for the games it makes it a little difficult to navigate to a specific game because you have to walk through and around several other games to get to a particular game. Because there are so many games going on at the same time it also makes it very difficult to find the particular game you are looking for. But overall I think kids soccer is a great thing and I love that the city of Garland has dedicated this amount of space to the kids playing soccer.

This little gem of a park has the volunteers and money plus LOTS of people actually using it. This park was absolutely filled with all kinds of groups of people using it. Tons of kids having fun with organized sports and with families. Everyone I saw were smiling and interacting with others. This park even has a small snack bar! This is a nice quiet little park tucked away that most people don't seem to know about, even if…read morethey live in the two neighborhoods that share a border with it. The city recently installed bathrooms on site, planted additional trees, a sun shield over the playground to lower the impact from the sun and keep the kiddies cooler, and some workout stations. Additionally, as mentioned before it does have a paved walking trail and pavilion. Along the trail there are two perpetually stocked dog waste bag stations and trash cans so folks can clean up after their pets. There is no water fountain at this park and I hope they install one with a dog fountain attachment at the bottom someday soon (the thought of drinking out of the bathroom is gross to me,sorry).Go here in the early morning or closer to dusk.

The gazebo gives a great view of the lake and being able to walk the shore and skip rocks is always a very relaxing thing to do. There's actually a secret spot tucked off away from the lake that people don't know about. Good fishing in that part, but not so much in the lake itself from the human interaction on the edge of the water. Families come out and hang out and windsurf so it's pretty family friendly. Also a nice place to go on a date and star gaze. Lots of traffic here on the holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Juneteenth, and New Years. People from all over come out and celebrate and it can get a little hectic but there's plenty of space to do what you want. I'll always love this place
