I was happy to see this place open in the neighborhood a few months ago, because you never know when you need a bottle of wine. :) It has a neighborhood-y feel, the staff is friendly and nice, it's open late, and there's a decent wine selection. That being said, there is a fair amount of dodgy mass-market wines to avoid, and many things are strangly unmarked/unpriced so you have to ask or guess... But there are some nice bottles from which to choose. Though the prices are fair and not overly marked-up, it can't compete in terms of selection to PJ's or Cabrini Wines. No matter. If, on your way to a dinner party or something, you need to pick up something quickly on your way to the 1 train, this is right nearby and ideal. I ordered a delivery through a liquor Delivery app called DRIZL. From heights liquor. I made my order at 6:03 PM. I heard nothing from these people and I had called to confirm my order. Because they were so busy they took my money out of my Bank account: $39.79. At 7:30 I realized my order had been canceled. I called these people to find out when I would get my wine and they said oh we're too busy to fill this order it's been canceled. They said it's up to Drizl...The app to return your money. I said when will you return my money and why Can't you complete my order now. The bastard hung up on me. Just like that. I had to get my bank to put my money back. Don't ever ever do business with Heights Wine and spirits. These people are classless hucksters and trash. If I could give them no stars I would. read more

This is an excellent wine and liquor store. I'm a frequent patron. Most often, I will go in to buy a quality red for under $10. Sometimes when I go in, they're having free wine tastings or bourbon tastings for anyone who walks in. The people who run the store are super nice and fun to converse with. I went in with my GF to get some wine for her and whiskey for me. Its not the best selection of whiskey a small selection of either high end whiskey or low end. They did have a good wine selection which wasnt bad at all. read more

They're always friendly to my wine-ignorant self. I usually go to get liqueurs, but often grab a bottle of wine for fun and they usually steer me in the right path. They also deliver, and a decent distance too. My friend wanted some wine delivered and he called everywhere in the area. Finally I suggested this place, which was farther than the others, and they delivered. Since, we both favor this place above the others. This is a fantastic neighborhood gem! The store owner is very personable and generous. He is knowledgable of most wines carried in the store but is also honest if he hasn't tried something in a while or is unsure. He doesn't just try to make the sale, he tries to help you find what you want in the price range you want. I would highly recommend this store. read more

They're a bit expensive compared to other wine stores I've been too, just 1-4 dollars more really depends. It's not a huge problem. Sometimes I want Certain wines and they don't have it and sometimes if they have it it's a little over priced. It's an alright place. Looks amazing though and nice vibe. read more

A cute little place. I have been here a couple of times and they do have good stuff therefore the 3* but I am not sure how knowledgeable they are about the wines. Whenever I have heard them I have pretty much completely disagreed and I can not be that much wrong, so I am assuming we both were 50% wrong in that equation. The prices are not the most inexpensive but they are not awfully expensive so if you are out and need another bottle of wine or a fun flavor spirits this is the place to go. This liquor store is aweosme! People are great, very knowleageable. The best part is that they have the greatest sake here!!!! I tried Otokoyama golden label. It's amazingly delicious. I've been drinking so many kinds of sake but this is definitely the best one ever. As I asked Japanese friends, other sake are pretty good too. read more

I've been in the neighborhood for about three years, and it's really nice to have a place like this where the people are friendly, learn what you like, and can make recommendations. I love their wide selection - I can find something really good to bring to a friend, something decent and cheap for sitting at home with a novel, and the crappiest of the cheapo wines for the random times when someone asks me to bring the base for a wine punch. :) This place makes the neighborhood feel more like a neighborhood. read more

This is my favorite local wine store. The service is wonderful. The delivery option is amazing, complete with a cc machine if you don't have cash. I unexpectedly had guest over this weekend, and ordered a few bottles to be delivered, they came not only with their credit card reader, but all three bottles chilled and ready for my guests with out me even asking for it. read more
