You can't beat Heimat. It's like an oasis. Everything from the locker rooms and incredible showers to the work floor, restaurant, pool.. the list never ends. I love that it's not crowded like your regular gym, it just doesn't feel like a gym at all, it's a total health and wellness experience. Well worth the $$. Only thing that's a little tricky is parking. There is no lot, just valet or street parking which can make it a bit tough. read more

It's truly quite amazing how condescending the staff is in this place. Sorry not the staff in general. The membership people. It's absolutely mind boggling. Everyone around me started complaining. I went to ask for some help because there was a glitch with my App and because I was never able to book a class in general. They just seemed annoyed and told me to send an email. I never got a response. I then sent 3 other emails and tried to book classes in the meantime. No response in more than 2 months and not one signe class I was able to attend. Everything is full a week in advance. I have never seen such poor customer service. I am beyond shocked by how they treat their members. The hype around this place is not going to last long. (And people come into the sauna dressed with their clothes on straight from working out all sweaty with their running shoes on. A complete rip off. It's $350 a month but what they don't tell you is it's an additional $30 per month for valet since they don't have a garage. Seriously $350 a month and you don't even have free parking?! Tons of homeless outside also so I don't feel comfortable parking at a meter. Classes are always booked out, been a member for over 6 months and still haven't gotten into a single class. The lobby and workspace have the worst interior design I've ever seen in my life. The murals are heinous to look at. Seriously, you can't even go pee without being forced to look at an extremely cheap looking mural. The only reason I'm not giving it 1 star is because the equipment is brand new and the pool is nice. Equinox is a better deal. Save your money! read more

for $350 a month their service should be much better, specially their membership management. Their products in the bathrooms sucks - they made their own bottles so you actually don't know what brand or ingredients is in there. steam room is missing. classes are always full. and they should start changing the menu in the restaurant. it's been the same since they opened. pool is nice and clean! read more

This place is ridiculous! I will admit that the space is beautiful but who cares when the people at the front are total snobs. I was "accepted" and did a tour before they opened. I asked to see the group class schedule or an example and the guy said "no." I said that I want to see what classes, times etc. before I decide to pay for a membership. He said I can only see if, if I join. WTF? It was $250 a month if you are over 25 and now it's $350 a month for 12 months and then it will go up. What a total rip off. Every time I drive by on my way home, the place looks empty. The only people I can see joining are either super rich people or young, model looking types that have probably never lifted a weight in their life or those who don't work and want to sit by the pool all day . read more

Mother Tongue is great but you can visit that without a membership. I am a Soho House member but was interested in adding this membership as it is steps away from home and included the fitness element. I was accepted and took the tour, but decided against membership because I was going out of town for three months for work and they refused to pause my membership. I asked them if they had any locations in New York where I was headed and the answer is no. So if you have a job, like I do, that requires you have to be out of town for weeks or months, this is not the place for you. They will not pause your membership outside of medical reasons. Just letting people know to save them the time I spent before learning this. Luckily I found out before I was locked into a year contract. read more

My application to this club was 'accepted' right away. They give a 1 week window to pay after acceptance. So before becoming a member, I wanted to tour the place. I emailed, and they responded with 'sure, when would you like to come in?' I emailed back with an option of two available days for the week after. I didn't get a response back. I emailed again, and did not hear back. I had actually visited the club for their NYE party. However I wanted have a tour to meet their staff/management, see the rest of the facility and have an idea about their membership base. To see if it is indeed worth paying around 4000 a year to spend there. More importantly, as a busy, highly occupied professional, I have to be picky about where and who I spend my precious time with. The NYE event I did not enjoy. It was 'open bar', and the whole night I was able to get one glass of champagne in a plastic cup. Because it was impossible to break through without pushing around in crowds of people clustered at the bar. I had to wait about 20 minutes before the bartender got to me, and by that time they had run out of most drinks. I felt lucky to get one drink :). NYE was a cold, rainy night and there was not a coat check to store my coat. There was a coat rack by the entrance, mind you, I didnt feel comfortable hanging my coat there so had to carry it around the whole night- which my friends did as well. So, we tried to dance putting our coats on various surfaces. Anyway, the DJ was really bad, transitions were clunky and the music was an awful pick for NYE and for the feel of the venue. On another floor, they had live music band , they were also very mediocre. I will not forget this special NYE where I paid $75 for one plastic cup of champagne and terrible music. From what I saw during the NYE party, they have a converted warehouse space with brand new furniture and modern design. Small outdoor pool. Stylish in the current modern sense, feels like going to a West Elm store. Not much character, though trendy. From the outside, I saw an impressive fitness floor full of equipment. These are the only reasons why I am giving two stars instead of one. The reasons I had gone forward with an application was because of the club's proximity to where I live, and my friend had newly become a member, mainly for their fitness class offerings, and to work remotely (which I dont do). So I figured, well maybe we can do some stuff together and depending, perhaps meet quality people at the club. In the end, I have decided to not become a member, and will look elsewhere. Even if I have to pay more money, I would like to feel that what I am getting is worth what I am paying. read more

This is the best gym experience ever. All the trainers are so nice including all the staff. They make you feel like family. The space of this gym is huge so you dont have to worry about waiting on a machine. Huge plus is the Pilates reformer classes are not a separate fee it's included in your membership. I see a bunch of 1 star reviews and now I know why. Gold's Gym is the main investor in this new concept. I called to inquire about taking a tour - no live person to take the call, it goes to voicemail. I send an email and say I'd like to come in for a tour and to get details on how parking worked for members. I get a response back saying "Have you applied for membership?" Of course not - why would I apply when I haven't even seen your facility or decided that I would want to be a member? I eventually end up talking to Anne, their membership manager, who talked over me for most of the call and was incredibly condescending. Gold's Gym: if you're losing money hand over fist, look at how your membership team is responding to inquiries for membership. If you'd like to success with this new idea, start with respecting people who inquire about membership instead of acting like you're doing them a favor. You're not Soho House. You're Gold's Gym trying to make money with a high-priced concept experiment. read more
