Who moves in the middle of a pandemic? Me, but it wasn't my idea. I had a very good experience renting a truck from here a little while ago, so I called to make a reservation which they gladly made for me. Later I realized I'd forgotten to ask how much it was, so I called back. Wait for it. (You know UHaul is $19/day.) Wait for it. Their price had skyrocketed to $199/day. Um what??? Good service is good service, but I saved $180 and went with Uhaul and it was fine. I hate surge pricing! read more

The most important part of business is the relationship you have with those you decide to invest your hard earned dollars with. I've been storing my belongings and renting moving trucks all over Marin for the past 5 years. I've been to numerous Public Storages and all the truck rental places in the county. Heirloom Storage has consistently paid more attention to me than anybody else. Their prices are lower than storage units off of the 101. Maybe it's because they are slightly further away then other storage units, but it is well worth it because of the price and service they give me. In 2016 I rented a unit at Public Storage in Petaluma - mistake, BIG mistake. I've reviewed that experience separately on Yelp so won't go into the details except to say that they increased my rent by over 40% within the first year. In 2017 I terminated that agreement and moved my things to Heirloom Storage. I stored my stuff there for 3 years and it was a great experience. The people are friendly, everything is so clean and we had no problems at all with moisture or rodents. I also appreciate the easy access from 37 and 101. Maybe best of all, no rate hikes at all in those three years. I would not hesitate to recommend Heirloom or to work with them again. read more

This place is high class ! I needed a place to store my grand piano and other belongings while I looked for a rental in Marin. They were recommended to me by my piano mover because their place is climate controlled. I am so glad I went with them because the rental search has lasted 10 months so far. When I go to get something from my unit the place is always super clean and I never worry that a rat is going to jump out at me when I open the door. (A friend rented from another place in town and all her stuff was covered with rat droppings.) The customer service is great, very tight security, convenient hours and centrally located ....... Years with dealing with storage units and this is one of the best run facilities I've used. Fairly band new storage units , great security system, and clean. Plus large truck access with a loading dock and plenty of carts and hand trucks. Much better than the rest of competition in the area. Staff is friendly. This is best place in the bay area to store delicate fabrics and other items like dolls that are sensitive to temperature changes and mold damage. Some of the units have wooden floors that are less likely to sweat then concrete floors. read more

My mom had used other places around town over the years so I had an idea what I wanted when I decided to move my own storage over here, I checked prices around $99 a month was the lowest for a place with secure storage that is protected from the elements. They are much more affordable here and I love their set up the place looks much nicer than most storage I have seen in the area. there have been recent break ins, vandalism and my trailer was severely damaged while in storage. there was no note or acknowledgement of the damage. given the obvious risk to property coupled with high monthly rents, i have moved my trailer to a safer more responsible and cost effective facility. read more

When I first went into the Heirloom Storage I was briefed on their rules and regulations and it all seemed daunting. The Manager seemed overworked and I was told by another person that he didn't get overtime paid so it made sense why when I showed up during the last half hour he was rushing to get out the door. Since I only had a minuscule amount of things, I rented the smallest unit which was still quite a bit larger than needed and continued to pay for several months while I was searching for a new location. Because the rules and regulations were SOOO strict I still felt that I should get out a.s.a.p. especially when I went to get my things on a number of occasions and couldn't get in. The hours seem to work well for others who have lots and lots of stuff but not so well for those who need regular access to their things. The Manager seemed kindly but obviously was not well treated by the owner. And when I was asking if I could get a discount on paying for a whole month when I was leaving an they wanted to charge me for the unit even though I was leaving because I wasn't fast enough, the Manager couldn't even let me speak with the owner. Now that's not Marin County Community spirit but a hard nosed greedy attitude towards the customer. I am a Monastic, a Nun and so get only donations to survive and I give my time and energy to everyone without asking for money in return. It is my vows so that I can offer my life to support others. To support the underdog and the homeless to get back on their feet. For me to have lots of debt or to have to pay sky high prices without the option of a discount, even though I am now unable to eat my daily meal because I've given it away to them for a unit that I'm not even going to be using, it's unfair and doesn't warrant a good image for them as a company. I'm quite popular among the community and so I will NOT be recommending this place to my many wealthy and endowed contacts. Too bad that Mr Peter Daniels is such a penny pincher. read more

We have had two large storage bins for a couple of years and love the place. It is new, clean and very convenient right off of Hwy 37. Our three adult daughters, my wife and myself frequently make independent stops to drop off or pick up goods. It is easy to access anytime. Peter is extremely cooperative and service oriented. If you need a storage unit or a truck rental, this place is the best! The facility is clean, easy to use, and though a little more expensive, very worth it for the customer service you'll get! Peter is great and super accommodating. He is always kind and willing to do what he can to make sure his clients are happy. I had an issue with getting the right size truck when I moved out, and Peter not only found one last minute, but gave me a great price on the mileage. There was a caveat - I HAD to get the truck back by 5pm. Well, even though I gave myself 2 and a half hours to get to Novato from the city (PLENTY of time, I thought) due to the Bay Bridge closure, I ended up getting the truck back an hour late. Peter was so kind and understanding and so easy to work with...I was so grateful for how he handled it since I already felt awful about being an hour late, So, if you need a storage rental or a truck rental, Heirloom storage is top notch! read more
