I rented a box truck here and just to be succinct about the experience: unfriendly service (couldn't be bothered if you asked any follow-up questions), rentals are in various states of disrepair, and the price per mile is exorbitant. But the reason for this review is because I left customer feedback through U-Haul (you receive a follow-up email from U-Haul to leave feedback about your rental experience) and because of the negative feedback I provided, the manager called me to inform me that I was "uneducated" and "I would not be served at their location anymore." I mean, I was never planning on going back there anyway; there's better and cheaper U-Haul locations in Marin County. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that my experience with this location was negative, and if you feel like leaving customer feedback about your rental experience through U-Haul, be prepared to receive a rude and condescending call back from the manager.

The first charge...they call a "hold" is supposed to drop off when you return the truck. Problem is they sometimes (3 times to be exact) forget to remove the first charge and it takes two days , five phone calls and an act of god to get this corrected. Often times saying they will be in touch and never responding. After the rental they often send a review email. I once clicked the "would not recommend this location button." I didn't write anything, just clicked the button. I already had a reservation for the next day so the following morning I went to pick up a truck and was met at the door with an employee threatening me about my bad review. I felt unsafe so I left immediatley and went to another location. When I arrived at the counter I was told that I was on a list and would not be allowed to rent. After a five minute phone call and the employees of this other location knowing me... they took me off the list. Please review all of your credit charges up to a week after you rent because I am beginning to feel like this is done on purpose. Two of their employees are great but they need to ditch the psychopath.

ZippGo rents you a certain amount of boxes based on how many rooms/square feet you are moving, and they deliver the boxes to your address, you use them for a move, and they pick them up at the new address. It was easy to schedule and make sure the drop off and pickup worked at an appropriate time. The boxes themselves are sturdy plastic, and the top interlocks so you don't need any packing tape. The boxes fit on top of each other which makes them easy to stack and move. You can also pick box inserts that are designed for plates and glassware which made it so easy to move these items. I would recommend ZippGo in a heartbeat- it made our move faster, easier, and more eco friendly too!

So they arrived without the keys to open the back of the truck so they had to wait for their boss to bring the keys. Then after they loaded the took what I assume was a 70 minute lunch break because when I called to see where they were they said they finished loading 40 minutes ago and they were taking another 30 minutes. Conveniently this mandatory break postponed their driving time to coincide with peak hour traffic turning a 50 minute drive into 2 hours. They arrive at 12:00pm to start loading this exact move was performed by another company 12 months early and was completed in around 3 hours. This move took until 5:30 pm. They turned a 3 hour job into billed me for 5:30 hours. I was furious because I had been waiting for them to arrive for around 2 hours. They talked to their manager and he offered me a discount which I understood to be a reduction in price to $350 after having paid around $750. However they ended up charging me an additional $350. When I called to discuss this they claimed that was a reduction in what they should have charged me!! This experience was ridiculous and wreaks of unethical business practices.
