My kids have always been very receptive to going and look forward to the price they get to choose at the end. I really like bringing them here because they're very equipped for working with kids, both just the environment, but also how the staff interacts with the kids. The dentist we've seen have all been great at communicating and sharing any concerns. We recently started using the orthodontics Services with my older daughter, getting braces. That all has gone really well and the payment plan that they offer is very reasonable. I couldn't be happier with My Kids Dentist. Our longtime dentist retired and the next office I tried, Vacaville Dental Group, randomly stopped taking our insurance after onboarding all four of my kids. Instead of being upfront, they tried to charge us and kept saying they were "working on getting back in network." Weeks turned into months, my daughter needed a checkup, and the front desk response from a lady when I called was... let's just say, less than warm. Immediate nope. Cue Kids Care Dental, aka, why didn't we come here sooner?! This place is clearly designed for kids and parents who value sanity. TVs on the ceiling, sunglasses, headphones, and a calm, welcoming vibe that immediately lowers your blood pressure. The dentist is one of the kindest, most patient humans, she genuinely loves working with kids, and it shows. Every staff member was wonderful. While I was there, another little patient had a hard time leaving a toy behind, and an employee simply let him keep it. Meltdown avoided, mom relieved, kid ecstatic. Honestly, I almost asked if I could have a toy too The only small hiccup: calling initially routes to a call center, not the clinic, which made asking questions a bit annoying. But they texted me the paperwork the day of the appointment, I filled it out before we arrived, and they told me I can text the clinic directly going forward. Problem solved. They keep sending me multiple text messages about outstanding dues, when I call them asking for what I am getting charged for, they have no idea what the charge is for and its just "an estimate of what my insurance isn't covering" I ask them to stop sending me texts until they can tell me what my actual amount is, they said they cant. Mind you this is just for routine cleaning for my kids and I've never had it not covered by my insurance. I would also like to add that when they first sent me the bill, I blindly paid for the amount and then found out that I was wrongfully charged and had to go through a lengthy and annoying process foe a refund. Dr. Amanjee did an x-ray of that specific area. She said there was "NO" infection and a piece of a tooth that was "supposed" to have been extracted was still inside. She said she didn't tell us that because she wanted us to be with my son. But, she prescribed an antibiotic anyways even though she said there was no infection. A few weeks after, one of the crowned teeth fell. At this point, we just gave up with this dentist and went to have my son's teeth checked by another dentist. I have them do an x-ray again to see if there are any more problems. Oh boy!!!! She crowned one of the tooth and didn't clean it out and now it is infected down to the root!!! Another tooth that has pasta has a cavity inside! She covered it without taking out the cavity. The crowns were very poorly done that the cement was still visible in the front and back. But, that's not all. She crowned the front teeth but she didn't have to! It would fall off anyways. Please save your kid, yourself, and your money. They will max out your insurance and ruin your kid's teeth and health. It's such a shame because she was nice up front. But, don't let that fool you! This doctor does a half-ass job. I always arrive early to medical appointments, especially first one to set up the account. So we stood outside in 84° heat, 15 minutes holding a baby. Giving an additional star because when I went in at 2pm to cancel the appointment the doctor came out and personally apologized for the experience. I would recommend they tell people to show exactly at the appointment time if it is a post-lunch appointment. The staff seemed cranky/tired and I do not feel comfortable having my son get care there.
