I arrived already 10 cm dilated, and the doctor came in while things were pretty chaotic but handled everything very calmly. I wasn't able to get an epidural in time, but she still advocated for me and supported my request to try, which meant a lot. She also guided me through different positions to help me push more effectively, which made a big difference. I especially appreciated her communication when our daughter's heart rate was dipping during contractions. She kept us informed and gave us a thoughtful heads-up about possible next steps without making us feel rushed or pressured. Very grateful to have a healthy baby and such a smooth recovery so far!

After being unsatisfied by my previous primary care providers due to always feeling rushed and dismissed, I am really glad to have found Dr. Livingston. The appointment did not feel rushed, she asked many questions and also listened to my concerns seriously. She is very knowledgeable and gave feedback on what could be done / tested on my concerns & what wouldn't be helpful, and she also help set up any follow up tests necessary. My only wish is that it's easier to find appointment availability as I had to book months ahead, but I think that speaks to how great she is! Although it was just my first appointment, I'm looking forward to working with Dr. Livingston as I feel like she genuinely cares and will take care of her patients! Also front desk is efficient & friendly even though they were very busy. It was easy to book other appointments with the front desk.

Doctor stated she wasn't seeing me for a UTI and will not address that issue. That I need to go back to my primary with concern or go to Urgent Care. Then went to her staff and argue with them for taking the UTI test for me. CRAZY! AND...DID NOT USE GLOVES FOR PAP SMEAR! I told the receptionist but she didn't believe me. I saw her transferring the swab to the counter with her bare hands. Don't go! But I will say, the Spanish speaking assistant was very nice!!

Here is my…read morehonest review: I had severe itchiness and discomfort during the entire second half of my pregnancy, but Joy, the nurse practitioner who runs the clinic, dismissed my complaints on multiple occasions. I spent hours researching my condition and worried that I could have bacterial vaginosis, which can cause miscarriages. I briefly self-medicated with probiotics and vaginal suppositories, which is warned against because the suppositories contain boric acid, but midwives have prescribed them. Also, I was desperate. Two weeks before my due date, I met the doctor who was going to deliver me, and she diagnosed me with a yeast infection and prescribed a cream. I prefer addressing root causes with natural remedies rather than using pharmaceuticals to suppress symptoms, but I didn't want my baby to develop thrush, so I used it and hoped that he wasn't born a week early and exposed to the infection or medication. Magnificat's nursing staff is nice. However, on three occasions, one of them told me she would follow up with me by phone but never did. Another caused me to have to go to a lab for blood work three times because she filled out the paperwork incorrectly. I ended up delivering my baby myself at home, which was a wonderful experience. A few hours later, I called Magnificat to set up an appointment with the doctor, but I was told that I had to go to the hospital. (That is not true, and in the future, I would find a doctor who is willing to treat me as an outpatient.) I went to St. Mary's Medical Center, which was terrible compared to Long Beach Memorial. They were understaffed, took my blood twice because they forgot to do a certain test, a narcissistic nurse made snide remarks, the facility is outdated, etc.). They instantly killed my oxytocin high. I checked out a day early. When I called Magnificat a few days postpartum to possibly schedule an appointment because I was concerned about my unusually slow pulse, the receptionist told me to go to the ER. I didn't feel like it was an emergency, and I had just been released from the hospital a few days prior, so I didn't go. I just wanted to talk to the doctor to confirm that I wasn't at risk of hemorrhaging and possibly get a referral. The doctor was only at the clinic once per week though, so apparently being seen by her wasn't even an option. I didn't bother going to my six-week follow-up exam because I didn't feel like Magnificat could help me. This place should be used as a last resort.

Patient care is her top priority. During my visits, she spent the time to listen and answer my questions. Her answers were thorough, thoughtful, and based in science. If she was ever unsure, she would research it and then get back to me. I always felt secure in knowing that I was in great hands. She is absolutely the best and am lucky to have her as my OBGYN. She also has a group of incredible nurses who are efficient and kind. Every time I have messaged them (either via the Memorialcare portal or over the phone), they have responded back within minutes to at most a couple hours even to questions that are not time sensitive. When I have an appointment, rarely do I have to wait. The nurses get me in and take my vitals and information. Dr. Karm is usually close behind. Overall, she is the best at what she does and has a great team of nurses. If you are lucky to have her as your OBGYN or even get to have an appointment with her, you've hit the jackpot!

The first time she performed this procedure on me, she said told me to take an aspirin before I arrived. Then prior to taking the biopsy she told me it might "Pinch" or there might be some "Pressure." I didn't know what to expect since I had never had this procedure done outside of a surgical room under anesthesia with a previous doctor. After the experiencing this procedure with Dr. Karm, I found this procedure to be incredibly painful - and was really shocked that all I was provided was advice to take an aspirin prior to arriving. The second time Dr. Karm needed to perform a cervical biopsy on me, I asked her if I could have something for pain management and she said no because, "It's too quick of a procedure to justify needing pain management." She went on to explain that the pain management she could provide would take longer than the procedure itself, so she said she would not be providing pain management for my cervical biopsy for that reason. Taking an aspirin prior to having someone perform a biopsy that felt like having your cervix hole punched repeatedly was not proper pain management as far as my needs were concerned. In my experience, Dermatologists perform skin biopsies and Dentists pull teeth quickly, but both do so with appropriate pain management. I feel the amount of time it takes to perform a procedure does not equate to the level of pain management needed.
