The rooms are nice and have in-room coffee makers, big refrigerators, and microwaves. The TV is big. The Heat and AC are easy to use and work. There's even a a great deck overlooking the river. The front desk staff are great. I'd come here again anytime. Only small issue: the restaurant next door is under renovation and it's supposed to be the best place in town. I'll have to try it on my next visit.

We had heard that the new owner was a jerk since we hadn't stayed here since it changed ownership, and they were right. If you are lucky enough to not have to interact with him, the hotel is a great spot to hold up for the night. Very good rates and the rooms are clean and comfy. Breakfast was ok - they had waffles, so it wasn't just a standard cereal and bagel breakfast. Won't stay here again unless it changes ownership again, however.

The beds weren't awful but I wouldn't call them comfortable. We were there 3 days and never had maid service even though we put the card out. We had to take our own garbage out and everyday we had to ask for towels and washcloths. When we left there was a giant pile of dirty damp towels and washcloths in the bathroom. One more thing, half of the tv stations were so static you couldn't watch them, not so important I know but we won't be staying there again.

This is an older motel, but new owners have acquired it since being here two years ago. Very friendly and courteous staff. Rooms are recently remodeled, and not sure if all of them have been completed. Bed is vey comfortable to which my aching back thoroughly enjoys. All rooms have outside doors and there is no elevator. Place can be very busy with workers such as myself or fisherman, so parking in front of the motel can fill up quickly by 5 PM. There is a parking lot across the street for the Ponderosa restaurant which seems to get used for the motel as well if needed. We've parked our larger trucks over there with no hassle. Park in the row closest to the motel. Rooms for us were roughly $70 a night during this End of July week. So not really a bad deal. There is no Breakfast served here, but there are two local places to eat that I've tried that serve a decent breakfast.

Our group of 16 adventurous women experienced the thrill of Class III and IV rapids while surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. We were accompanied by five exceptional young men who were the epitome of true gentlemen. They took amazing care of us every step of the way--preparing five-star breakfasts, lunches, and dinners complete with appetizers and delicious desserts, setting up our tents, sharing fascinating history about the river, and, most importantly, keeping us safe on the water. Their professionalism, kindness, and hard work made the trip even more memorable. Each day brought incredible wildlife sightings, including bald eagles soaring overhead, ospreys, an otter, great blue herons, merganssers, and bighorn sheep. Evenings were spent relaxing around camp with great food, plenty of adult beverages, wonderful conversation, and sleeping under a sky full of stars. The rapids were exhilarating, the scenery was spectacular, the company was unforgettable, and the memories will last a lifetime. My expectations for the weekend were blown out of the water (literally) in the first ten minutes on the jet boat ride. I don't think we stopped smiling for 3 days. I can't imagine a more beautiful setting for a wedding if rivers and mountains hold a piece of your heart. The staff was incredibly fun and accommodating. Dax is the cutest 6 year old host you'll ever meet and I felt almost no stress before the wedding because I knew Joni had everything under control. If you want a wild jet boat ride, jump on Bucks boat ;) Mackay Bar is truly a hidden gem in Idaho. All of my friends and family are texting me that we forever ruined their expectation of a wedding. Sunset horseback rides, fishing, hiking and phenomenal food. I am forever grateful for our wedding weekend and Mackay Bar and we are plotting to get back there as soon as possible.

Seems the reservation was incorrectly placed and the first/last names were swapped and it was not readily visible via the reservation system on the computer screen. Crisis averted - glad I glanced at the computer screen and called out the mistake. Otherwise we would be sleeping on the ground at the KOA. Ranai is a complete gem. She takes great pride in her little slice of heaven. She takes personal care to make sure the boarders are taken care of. Great recommendation of where to eat - Hotel Bar. Rooms were appointed sufficiently. Showers were hot. Plenty of towels. A/C worked great. Beds had fresh linens. It was a welcome rest spot after a full day of riding Harleys. Breakfast in the morning was ready on time as advertised (6 a.m.). She even offered me hand-picked boysenberries. Who does that? Oh - Ranai does. Biscuits and gravy were just what I needed. Clearwater is recommended. Make sure to book directly with the front desk. Expedia reservations may or may not be honored. And be sure to get some sort of confirmation of reservation - email, text, something you can have in your back pocket just in case. Ranai - you have a good thing going here. Keep up the good work. If we are ever back through Kamiah we will certainly be staying at the Clearwater.
