Talk about a fabulous selection, unbeatable prices, and a comforting environment, Helios cigar lounge is the place to be in the I.E. I have been a cigar aficionado for about 7 years and living in Riverside has been a challenge for me to find good quality cigars in the area.....until I found Helios about two years ago. Yea you have Mission Tobacco Lounge or La Bodega but my experience with them is I could never find a cigar that has been well kept, I tend to find them hard as a rock or even mold on them, not to mention overpriced by $5-$10 dollars on an average stick. Though La Bodega does not have a sitting area, Mission Tobacco does, and let me tell you if you like loud thumping music beating on the walls or if you like to breathe the smoke you exhaled out then this place is for you. The one thing I like most about Helios besides the cigars, is the welcoming patrons that you can sit down and talk to all day. If you have issues there will be guys in there wiser and knowledgeable to help guide you through them. This is my first Yelp review (I have never felt compelled to write a review but use Yelp often to look for exceptional businesses in my area). The reason for my first review is the Inland Empire (and specifically Riverside CA) has a new FANTASTIC Cigar Lounge. Many might scoff at that statement but cigar and pipe smokers of the Inland Empire know the pickings are few and many are flawed (for various reasons). So to the review... Helios Cigar Lounge was a complete surprise to me. First, because it opened in November of 2013 and I had no clue it had. Second, because it is so close and Riverside has been (in my opinion) wanting of such a lounge for some time... and thirdly, I was completely taken in on my first visit. I will break this review up into a few separate segments. The Owner: Amit, was welcoming as I entered, as if I had been there before. Moreover, he offered to assist in any way, if he could help (not in a used car salesman way but he came across as really trying to be helpful). I have smoked many of the cigars in his humidor (which is quite extensive and offers smokes at every price point) but I was indeed trying to narrow my search between a couple cigars I had not tried yet. One of the selections I was looking at was the Alec Bradley Nico Puro. Not only was he knowledgeable of the Alec Bradley line but he asked a few questions, including if I liked Nicaraguan tobaccos and blends and what I was looking for (I love Nicaraguan tobaccos)... it may seem like a small thing but his recommendation based on knowledge of the line and the cigar was a factor in my selection. I was completely happy with the cigars I purchased and the Nico Puro especially. The cigar selection: The humidor is well stocked with very good cigars at nearly every price point (I know because I have smoked many of the brands and offerings). The price is very competitive for a brick and mortar, and in many cases with any retailer. You absolutely can find cigars you will enjoy here! The Pipe tobacco selection: This was a surprise! While the total number of pipe tobaccos are modest, Amit stocks quite a few high end (not expensive but high quality) pipe tobaccos at VERY competitive prices. Samuel Gawith, Dunhill, and Drew Estates are just a few examples. Those, who like myself, enjoy smoking pipe tobacco in addition to cigars know that often the pipe tobacco selection at Cigar Lounges contain few offerings, "house blends" and lower end tobaccos are often the norm... not here! If you are a pipe tobacco smoker you can find a blend you will enjoy at a reasonable price! The lounge: Well laid out, and offering pipe and cigar smokers a relaxing environment to enjoy their purchases, the lounge is easy going and completely comfortable. Amit explained the state of the art air purification system he installed and the many big screen TV's, overstuffed wide leather chairs and general atmosphere really make you feel at home. It is located in Canyon Crest in the Towne Center (in a perfect location, although you may want to call ahead for specific directions). The Helios Longe is planning to offer beer (on tap in addition to singles) and wine pending approval in the near future!!! There are plenty of great places to eat (between cigars)in the Towne Center (I went to Taco Station for today's lunch). Overall: Amit explained his business model... a comfortable, non-pushy, relaxing atmosphere for his customers. He believe by providing this type of relaxed atmosphere and focusing on customer service he can grow the business and provide a truly needed service for the local and outlying customers looking for a cigar lounge. What did I think??? "Build it, and they will come"! I have been to quite a few cigar stores and lounges in the Inland Empire, Temecula, LA, and San Diego... this place is the real deal! read more

Absolutely wonderful! I stopped by on a whim, since UCR borders Canyon Crest Dr. It's an elegant, modern cigar lounge that emits an air of sophistication. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy an exotic cigar in the large comfortable arm chairs, play a game of pool, chess, or drink black coffee with your smokes while watching any of the large HDTVs hanging on the wall. The owner is very knowledgeable of the inventory and even has his own brand of cigars. When you get a chance to stop by, ask for the House Mocha Cigar! I'll definitely be back soon! I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Helio's. The owner Amit was very welcoming and provided great customer service. Nice, easy going atmosphere. Not at all pushy when I walked into the humidor, which can be an annoyance in other lounges. There's a very wide selection of cigars (old school and some newer boutique selection) and they are definitely priced moderately as far as retail goes.
