Taco Medic - Searle Lane - The bushman - pork belly tacos

But, we were feeling tacos for dinner and it popped up as the first suggestion on Google Maps. Walking up to the stall, it was packed full of patrons eating outside, so a good sign. We got four tacos and I've detailed my thoughts below: The Bushman: there was a massive amount of pork belly and the sweet onion reduction which was good, but the huge amount led to mush when I picked up the taco. The integrity of the tortilla was hugely compromised by the toppings, so I wished there was a double tortilla situation. The Stockman: one of my favorites with the green hot sauce they have made from tomatillos and jalapeños. The chipotle créme fraiche were just three big circles on the taco, but it ended up being incredible to cut the richness from the brisket. The Fisherman: first bite and it was way salty and acidic, but I persevered through to a second, which was better. I thought that the fish itself was good, but the balance from the toppings was lacking. The Ken Tuckymwan: my absolute favorite. The freshness from the mango chunks cut through the richness from the fried chicken and that chipotle mayo. I really enjoyed this with the hot sauces they offered. Overall, the integrity of the tacos were really poor as the tortilla almost disintegrated after the second bite. But, the tacos pack a punch of flavor that makes the mess worth it.

It's quite a large outdoor space with a variety of mostly food, handmade items, and live music. Biga, a Neapolitan-style pizza stall was slinging pies made to order. Whitestone Cheese Co had samples of artisan cheese. There were fresh produce, bakery goods, chocolate, coffee, restrooms, water refill, and more. Hang out on the grass or picnic tables (the sun was strong and they had sunscreen free to use), or grab and go. Recommend if you're in the area.

The bus took us as far as the nearby shopping center, and from there it was easy enough to ask a local where to find the market. It was about 1/2 mile walk from the shopping center, just far enough to not be able to see signs from the parking lot where the bus dropped us off. I had never been to a farmers market outside of the U.S. before, and this the Remarkables market was amazing, and probably better than I could have ever imagined a farmers market to be. Set along what looked like newly developed roadways and open lots, the market was set in a big green meadow area. Cars parked on grassy areas around the market. There's a large 3-walled barn structure, an open air area, complete with some picnic tables with umbrellas, rustic planters with flowers in them and play areas for the kiddies. It looked like they built the space specifically for a farmer's market! The area was ringed by the Remarkables mountain range, and a few snow caps remained. It was so gorgeous!! There may have been 20 vendors at the market. Vendors sold everything from produce, prepared food, bread and muffin mixes, packaged salt seasonings, homemade Worcestershire sauce, raw meat and fish, farm fresh cheese, baked goods, preserves, honey, charcuterie, clothing and gift items. There was also musical entertainment. It was such a diverse collection and every single vendor as as nice as they come! As I expected, the produce was amazing! I took a photo of celery that was at least 24" long!! Mom and I were so tempted to buy all kinds of things, but since we were traveling, and soon to leave the country, we knew that we would have to be selective and also weren't sure what we'd be allowed to take with us to our next destination. We opted to only buy what we could eat for a nice picnic--salami, cheese, bread and a smoothie. All were so fresh and delicious! We sat at a table under an umbrella and soaked in some sun while enjoying watching the locals. A really nice touch was that at the picnic tables were a stack of newspapers for reading, and a huge bottle of sunscreen for anyone who might need some. The market is my favorite memory of our short stay in Queenstown.

Loved the tall windows spanning the length of the apartment and the skylight near the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery and cookware if you wanted to cook. There's also a washing machine and dryer and they supply dry detergent which is super helpful for our longish trip overseas. Also loved the gas fireplace on those cold days while lounging looking out at the lake. There were 2 separate rooms each with their own bathroom-1 room had the queen? sized bed closer to the living room and the other room was by the entrance of the apartment which had 2 twin sized beds. You can also walk out to the balcony and enjoy the fresh air of NZ. I believe they were doing some remodeling at the time but it was a bit inconvenient to get to the apartment-first take an elevator to a different floor, then pass through the parking garage, then take another elevator, then short walk to the apartment... hence the lower than 5 stars. Also the breakfast buffet was pretty small but it did the job. The location is right by the lake and only a 10 min walk to the downtown. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you're visiting Queenstown and maybe go to another place for breakfast.

So we asked different local people what they recommend, so after we purchased the first pizza, it looked like an individual size, so we bought another from the second choice and that was not much bigger. We remembered as we were walking through Queenstown that there was another shop handing out samples and it said "Largest Pizza in Queenstown", that was a go for us were quantity was most important, so we got a 3rd pizza from 3 different pizza restaurants. Ended up, all 6 of us preferred the Fat Badgers the most! Half Fat Badger, Half Arnold Schwarzenegger was a very tasty pizza and good size. Was loaded with lots of ingredients and very generous. I would recommend this pizza restaurant over the other "popular" pizza restaurants
