I am so glad I discovered HYGF. I've preordered several times (including a delicious birthday cake) and have also walked up. The food is delicious and high quality, and the variety is amazing. I also really appreciate the transparency about ingredients, and a bonus is that their social media account is fun to follow and how I found them in the first place! I initially had one small gripe, which was that people who were skipping the line to walk up for preorders were allowed to purchase additional items, leaving those who arrived early to wait in line waiting longer and with less inventory. HOWEVER, I know how challenging customer service can be, and I really chalk that up mostly to customers being entitled and taking advantage of the fact that you're able to bypass the line to grab your stuff. Regardless, they now have a two-line system and are doing less pre-orders anyway, which has rectified that one small complaint of mine, though it never kept me from visiting anyway! A note regarding the fact they've had to adjust their preorder system due to people not picking up during their window: you people are the worst! You're ruining it for the rest of us. It's selfish and rude to not pick up when you're supposed to, contributing to food waste and altering a small business's inventory. And then y'all have the nerve to leave them negative reviews? We love this place! We come from very OTP for gluten free goodies. We are hopeful that they solve the lines and running out of favorites with in an hour of opening. Everything is worth it. My wife is gluten-free so we were very willing to drive an hour on a rainy Sunday morning to visit this bakery. We pulled up and the line was snaked outside (covered). We were about 45 min in line. Masks are required here and no more than 2 in the store at one time. Only one worker on the register so it did move a little slow. That's because all the others are baking. She ordered one of every donut, lemon poppyseed cake, cinnamon bun, pop tart and a few others - about $65 worth lol. The quality and taste of the items is excellent. I have only 2 complaints: it's 150 miles away, and only open on mornings. The cinnamon roll was divine - solid, well made, but not stodgy. If you cannot eat gluten or have other food allergies, you know how special it is to find a place that offers quality options of food you'd never get to eat at any other restaurant or bakery. I hope then that you can understand my sadness in writing this review. I've loved Hell Yeah for the entirety I've lived in Atlanta. Our favorite dates are our Saturday's picking up donuts and sandwiches followed by eating breakfast at the dog park. I was so excited when they announced they were reopening cake orders after COVID. I reached out 4 months in advance to see if they would be able to do our wedding cake. I received a prompt reply and was ecstatic to supply them with any additional information they might need in discussing our wedding cake. However, their communication ended there. :\ I emailed twice with no reply and ended up calling the store multiple times in hopes of getting someone on the phone. Their voicemail recording listed best times to call the store and get ahold of an associate, the email I had already been using, and the option of reaching out over social media. The recording also warned not to leave any messages as they do not listen to them. After a couple days of calling during these hours with no answer, I reached out over social media. (I really don't like communicating with businesses over social media so I'd put it off and was hoping to talk to someone over the phone or get a response via email. Especially since this was, once again, in reference to our wedding cake.) It was through social media, a month after our first email contact, that they notified me they were not taking customized cake or wedding cake orders for the remainder of the 2022 year and the beginning of 2023. I got a "sorry for the inconvenience!" as well. I understand not being able to supply me with a cake, but the lack of communication was what truly upset me. (Since Hell Yeah was no longer taking orders for events four months out, I started panicking that it would be too late to find anywhere else gluten free to supply us with something. However, the three other bakeries I reached out to told me they were very much still accepting wedding cake orders, especially ones of our smaller caliber, at our three month out mark. I'm so thankful I still had the opportunity and ability to contact and find back ups.) I think anyone who rarely has access to enjoyable and fun food options safe for them to consume, can understand the significance of having something special for your wedding day. And what felt like a lead on followed by a "ghosting" by a place that held all my best Atlanta food memories hurt. I did give them the suggestion of adding the aforementioned information regarding customized cake and wedding cake orders to their website, since their decision to not take any upcoming wedding cake orders is currently not displayed there or anywhere else. Hopefully they remedy this. I just really wanted to put this story out there for anyone else pursuing a customization or cake order from them in the future. Their lack of communication was a big (and shocking) turn off for me. I've loved Hell Yeah for their service and food for years now. I think we'll still shop our gluten free treats and Saturday breakfasts here, but I don't think we'll pursue any other orders from them in the future. read more

I'm in Georgia for the week so I went on Yelp to see if they had any gluten free bakeries near by and found hell yeah gluten free which was a 40 min drive from where i was staying. When I got there the staff was very nice. I ordered a chicken sausage, egg and cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich, blueberry pop tart, Slice of lemon pound cake and a peach turnover. I was blown away with how good the food was. The only thing I was not the biggest fan of was the peach turnover but overall everything was great. read more

The biscuit is flaky and buttery which is difficult to replicate without gluten. I want to give this place a great review because the actual product is usually a scrumptious, high quality baked good that is hard to find in Atlanta. However the business operations are unlike anything I've ever seen. Well yes I have: in the Carribean, where your customer's time doesn't matter. 1.) they gave no indication that they'd be closed the first week of January. I showed up everyday. 2.) calling them is pointless. They ask for you to use the sms to communicate but the owner never ever answers. 3.) today I drive all the way across town in the bitter cold, only to find a note on the door saying they'll open at 9am instead of 8am in the winter". Have been following HYGF's story on Instagram for most of 2019, and after finally getting the chance to come in to Atlanta and try their visually stunning, almost can smell them off your instagram feed food, I am happy to report that these baked treats taste 100x BETTER than the photos... I inhaled the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, and felt like I was having a religious experience with the crispy top of the biscuit and perfect amount of salt crystals on top. I found out I had a severe wheat allergy about five years back, and literally nothing I have eaten has come close to this. On the end of customer service, I really like how the owner/team keeps it real with all of us, and keeps everyone posted about the store, in terms of hours, selling out, etc. via Instagram. We're all on it anyway, why not keep the lines of communication open there?! I've waited a L O N G time for HYGF to have a brick and mortar store and now that it's here, it doesn't disappoint. If you've followed Alejandra and HYGF for more than five minutes, you know what you expect: A little bit of spice, a lot of color, and an always interesting and fun experience (from both the staff and the baked goods). I do not have celiacs, but have friends who do, so I love finding places we can all safely enjoy and partake of without the risk of my friends being "gluten bombed", even though a lot of gluten free food just...isn't as good to me as food with gluten. HYGF completely shattered that perception for me. The breakfast biscuits are divine; I'm still thinking about them dayyyys after having them, with fluffy eggs, delicious cheese, and the buttery, flakey, wonderfulness of a thick biscuit. Don't skip the sweets, either. I had an apple pie crumble donut after my biscuit that made me feel like fall was already here in 95 degree weather. Nothing short of miraculous. Some people have mentioned the decor, and all I can say is: Atlanta is gonna Atlanta. Alejandra is onto something here. Too often substitutions mean a lack of flavor, bad consistency, strange textures, or something missing. She gets it right. The baked GF doughnuts are some of the best cake doughnuts I've ever had- tender, soft, moist and full of flavor without being cloying. There is no strange plastic coating on your tongue, no heaviness or starchy after taste from bad GF flours, and no excess of sugar to hide a bad product. The GF pop tarts are flaky and pretty, and her flavors are always interesting. It's an absolute shame to see people who take issue with talent lash out simply to lash out- HYGF has something for everyone, gluten free diet NEEDED or no. I'd much rather spend my money here for a treat than several other places about town. This place started as a pop-up and it really is more of a permanent pop-up than a destination. Hours are touch and go as well as items available for purchase. On more than one visit there was just 2 things to choose from. My advice: -Follow them on Social Media and see what they have made that day -Go early! They close when the run out of items -Do not have your heart set on anything specific -Prepare for a line -Park on the street in the neighborhood and walk over if parking lot is full, it is a very safe area. I found HYGF on Instagram and decided why not? I saw they had homemade pop tarts which to me is so cool! I got there at 10am on a Sunday. They had already ran out of a bunch of things but I was able to snag a cinamon roll, donut, and pumpkin pop tart. The cinnamon roll is HUGE! Like so big. The sprinkled donut was really delicious. I've had their spanakopita freshly baked and warm--it's perfection! The Blueberry Lavender Bakewell Tart was intriguing taste-wise and texture-wise to its final few crumbs. Their cinnamon roll is huge and still has all the complex flavors one could hope for. One thing to note: their "donuts" are baked instead of fried. To me, these are not donuts. They should either change the name or start frying them. Fried gluten-free donuts usually taste just like regular donuts.
