I absolutely love this salon, the atmosphere and every single stylist, manager and receptionist there! They are all so friendly, warm and inviting!! My personal stylist is Kamryn, she is amazing, I can't get over the miracle she pulled off w/ my hair. I have dark black brown hair, I've tried for yrs to get it to blonde of course as most places would say you would need a few sessions to get it to what I wanted. Kamryn was so patient and attentive, she actually got my hair to exactly what I wanted the first time I went in. They were even closing and she was supposed to be getting off but stayed to make sure my hair got to the color I wanted and did my cut too! Now that is dedication and extremely highly rated customer service. Now yes it did take about 2.5 to 3.5 hrs, which was understandable in my opinion, and I knew it would take a while. She could have very well been like 'ok this is as far as I can take it today, so you'll have to come back' (which i was worried about but prepared for that happening, if it had to), but she didn't do that! No she took the extra time and care to do her best (which was phenomenal) to make sure I got what I was hoping for and left happy and I sure did! That was when I decided I wouldn't go anywhere else ever lol! Anywho, I noticed there weren't a whole lot of reviews from '26 so I wanted to put this out there since I really believe in this salon and the people that work there. I am extremely appreciative of this salon and of course my stylist, who I simply adore, and highly recommend, lovely to visit with and really seems to care about her clients, such a sweetheart. I am actually going to schedule an appointment with her in the next couple wks so I will update my review w/ new pics at that time. I should mention I am extremely picky about getting my hair done, simply becuz in the past 99% of the time my hair never turned out how I wanted, hoped or asked for. In fact there has only been ONE time in about a 30 yr span where I loved my hair cut, and was decently happy with my hair color. UNTIL I happened upon the woodlands hair elite, which they really are Elite. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the owner, but she sounds like a wonderful lady. I truly appreciate her staff and the salon as a whole and everything they offer and what she's built. I personally feel, and probably becuz I have been extremely satisfied, that the price points are right on with most other salons, and I don't mind paying for great work. The products they sell are spot on with anywhere else you could get them, at least what I've noticed. They are very up front with the cancelation policies and if you do not cancel in the alloted time that you will be charged, which I think is fair, especially for what you may be asking for, like in my case it's never just something simple so they have to block off that time and potentially lose out on a job for that day if you cancel without the right amount of time, so to me that's fair and makes sense. They are clear with that when booking the appt. They also check with you multiple times for your appt giving you ample time to confirm or cancel properly. I'm sure that if it was an actual emergency and you could maybe prove that it was, I'm sure they would work with you if you are calm, kind and understanding that they are doing their job and they are losing out on potential income for that period if you don't show up or don't cancel in the time frame. But thats just me, I love them and the place to much so I personally wouldn't mind the fee if I didn't cancel properly, or show up. Anywho, bottom line is they are all awesome, the salon is beautiful, a ton of services (one day I'm going to get extensions done with the lady that does them, she is also so sweet and fun!), wide variety of free beverages and snacks, and sell great products. I love the receptionist, she is such a sweetheart too, she's always so nice to me and well like I keep saying everyone up there is awesome, you can just tell, it's a really good vibe! A few weeks ago, I was going through the same process... looking up "best salons" and doing my best to find pictures and reviews of individual stylists - trying to pick a "good" one before I called to see if they were available. I was calling on Thursday, getting ready to leave on vacation the following Monday. We were planning a photo shoot the next week, so I was taking a HUGE risk going to get my hair done right before our trip, and with someone who I had never worked with. I called many places, but naturally, some of their master stylist were booked till the end of time, so there was no way I would see them last minute. I finally stumbled on Shag Spa and Salons. They've been in the Woodlands 11 years, and had many different stylists. I looked through their reviews, and further researched any stylists I thought might work for me. Enter Alex! First of all, I was so happy to see she had an IG page with her previous clients before and afters (@alexatshag). Because I couldn't assume her skill based on her years of work (as compared to a master stylist), I needed to see what she had done in the past in order for me to feel comfortable enough to sit in her chair. I've had some awful hair experiences (as many of you have), so needless to say, I was very nervous! I wanted a soft balayage and a trim with some face framing pieces. Simple, yet considering the circumstances, it could have been a disaster! I called Shag to start asking my questions.. Alex heard the receptionist doing her best to answer, and eventually got on the phone so we could talk. I poured my nervous heart out to her ( I really want this, but I'm scared!) Haha. She listened to what I wanted, explained her process, and opened up her schedule on her day off so we could get er done. I met her early the next morning, and before she did anything, we sat and talked and looked at pictures and she again further explained her plan. At this point, all I could do was sit back, let go and enjoy the process (literally - I love my hair being played with!). Alex was AMAZING. She took her time, talked through what she was doing with me, answered all of my nervous questions, and was SO sweet and happy the whole time. She mentioned she loves what she does, and you could feel it - she genuinely enjoyed painting my hair and styling it! The results speak for themselves. At the end (this took several hours), we were both so genuinely pleased, and I was pretty much shocked at HOW good it came out. I've never had my hair look like this before! She was so excited at how great it looked - it made me feel even better about what I had come in for! I mean, I knew I liked it, but when your stylist is sincerely stoked at how great it looks, you know you did well!! I am SO happy Shag was here for me, and that someone like Alex works for them - I have been in the Woodlands two years, and have finally found my hair stylist!! I absolutely LOVE my hair..
