Is it expensive? Yes. Overpriced? Very. But is it good? Yes! Good drinks and good snacks are offered here, and while some may say they are a little too sweet, and I do say they are a little too sweet, they also taste pretty good, and my sweet tooth enjoys every single bite. Tried their strawberry green tea and loved it! Loved the cup it came in and the rim around it full of sugar. Also tried their chocolate cake; both were sweet and delicious. My only regret is that I did not realize they had alcoholic drinks too; the menu is taped to the wall, so it is easy to miss, but I guess they are trying to keep it low-key, maybe because of the high kid volume? Not sure, but I need to go back and give those a try. This place is worth the trip. read more

Absolutely had an amazing time at the store. The theme is so cute. Everything is hello Kitty the store itself is on the smaller side, but it is connected to their café so it's a whole experience. We went on a less busy day, but there is a roped off section because I can't get pretty congested Well, everything is on the more expensive side. Love checking out this store! We always drop by on our way out of the park so we don't have to carry anything in case we shop lol. Lots of cute finds, everything is literally Hello Kitty themed so you'll find Chucky the doll but Hello Kitty. Stuff like that lol! They changed it up during Fan Fest so you would find One Piece and recently DnD merch! They have other non-Sanrio characters like scooby doo, ET, and How to train your dragon stuff at this store. I am the Hello Kitty lover. She reminds me of girlhood. Drink and eat in the outdoor area and bought something in the shop. We had a good time！ 1) Keroppi Matcha Latte The Matcha taste was not strong. It is a little bit over pricing. 2) My Melody Lemonade The presentation was good. Stars are based on the Manager. I would have left a 1. But the cashier was amazing. The cashier deserved all of the 5 stars and more. Loved everything minus the store manager walking in back of us every second throughout the store. I wasn't uncomfortable as I make enough money to buy what's needed but it WAS very annoying. He peeked behind each area. I don't know why he just didn't stay at the cashier area where you can literally see everything. I made it a point to look at him every time he thought he was hiding and peeking lol. The cashier was amazing. He made us feel very welcomed. He asked how our day was. He welcomed us. Very sweet, through and welcome by Asian cashier. I did purchase $130 plus worth of items for my granddaughters birthday. The store was very clean. Not a big store. Had a few things to look at. As a long time Sanrio fan, this shop is an automatic "YES" from me! It is such a fun treat to know that Sanrio is one of the official licensed line with Universal Studio parks. Yes, they do have regular, up-to-date merchandise including from brands like Loungefly but they are not as extensive as Sanrio shops at the mall. But what sets them part are the pieces that showcase mashups of Hello Kitty and her friends in famous Universal Studios franchise like "Back to the Future," "Jurassic Park," and "Jaws!" The collaboration line is what you should be looking for because they are not sold outside of the park aside from the Universal Studios Tour shop in Citywalk. (I completely missed out on the Chucky Hello Kitty merchandise !) The merchandise is high quality: shirts and plushies are made well with strong stitching and solid screen printing. Prices are comparable to other corporate retail chain stores but the quality is better. Staff was really friendly and the woman who helped me did not rush me out the door and managed to answer all my questions. She also offered to hold my bags until I leave the park at the end of the night. ) read more

If your looking for your hello kitty fix this is the place . The cafe has a little bit of table to sit and down and outside . The line can get long for the cafe but it moves fast . The menu is sweets and drinks . I tried the berry cream filled churro it was like pop tart in a churro and had the sugar cookie which was very rich . I also had samsontuxedo lemonade and melody lemonade which had sugar on the rim and were both delightful and very tasty . The pricing was decent the drinks were well priced and desserts also highly recommended. The hello kitty store had a long line but not surprisingly for a Saturday for a weekend of Halloween horror night . The Hello Kitty store is very cute! If you're a big fan of Sanrio character then you're in luck, there isn't only Hello Kitty themed items but also My Melody, Pompompurin, etc. There wasn't a lot of Sanrio pin options but there was a lot of bags, clothing and plush merchandise to choose from. I wish the selection was a bit bigger but I understand that the shop is small since it connects with another shop that has other Universal merch. My favorite part was the pressed penny machine! You can get one penny for $1 but you need to have a dollar bill. But for $5 you can get the whole set of 8 pennies and you can use your credit card. My daughter spotted this pretty My Melody pillow with a green tag at 50% off the original price of $24.95. It was a bargain. The Hello Kitty store closer to the entrance of the park on your right hand side was tidy and fully replenished. All social distancing implemented. The sales associate was very helpful and friendly. Hello kitty the new addition to the Hollywood stars that roam Universal Studios. She was honored with her very own star and store. That has a yummy petite selection of bakery goods. The red velvet cupcake is the only thing I have tried so far. They don't have much stationary like a typical Sanrio they have a small amount. They have almost all the Sanrio Characters mugs and socks and Slippers. Keropi, batzmuru, etc... Good selection of clothing and bags and purses by spyfly phones cases etc My favorite besides the mini bakery goodies is definitely the customizable kitty ears with different color bows and etc to add to your own hello kitty ears. Such a cute store!! The employees were extremely accommodating. One of the workers was having an issue untangling the necklaces they keep behind the counter (I've worked in retail before, and hey, it happens) and kindly reassured me that they would have it fixed in a couple of minutes. Me and my friend went to another store and once we finished, we came back and they happily told me that they had freed the necklace! They were also very helpful when it came to engraving my mom's name on one of the bracelets -- they made sure it was spelled correctly and customized the way I wanted it. Very cute items at this new store at Universal Studios Hollywood! There was a Hello Kitty outside the store and you can take photos with her. The prices for some of the items are a little pricey but it is usually like that at any Sanrio store anyway. The purses were so adorable! I was hoping to see more Jurassic Park x Hello Kitty products but there was only one shirt with characters on it in a Jurassic Park jeep. But overall, I really liked seeing the characters combined with Universal films! read more
