    Aaron The Handyman

I hired Aaron in September 2024 to address water leaking from our master bathroom shower, which had…read morecaused drywall damage and mold. He charged $290 to re-caulk the shower, replace the door seal, and repair the drywall. He also claimed he found no moisture behind the wall using a moisture reader. Unfortunately, I noticed staining reappearing shortly after. After multiple delays and excuses, he returned months later and said a faulty gasket was likely the issue. I paid an additional $180 for the part and labor in January 2025. Despite repeated, polite follow-ups, he never returned to do the work and eventually stopped responding entirely. Now, in June 2025, we've discovered water stains on the kitchen ceiling -- directly under the same shower -- confirming an active leak and likely structural damage. If he had followed through promptly, we could have avoided what may now be a far more expensive repair. I'm out nearly $500 for incomplete and ineffective work, and I'm incredibly frustrated by the lack of accountability or follow-through. I would not recommend this handyman to anyone.

I wrote asking Aaron the Handyman if he did the type of work I wanted done. He replied yes, I gave…read morehim the property address, name and phone number. He said he'd go Monday or Tuesday. Then I got an estimate from him of $100-$1,000. He did not go to the property. I contacted him to ask why. He said he had never talked to me before and that he didn't lie. I sent him a screenshot of his estimate. He agreed that was his by saying that was his estimate because he hadn't seen the property. But he had said he hadn't talked to me before. Then I got a few more emails from him, each very rude. I wrote saying to never mind and that he'd lost a job. DO NOT USE THIS MAN. If there was a negative rating, he would get that!

Custom Plasma Install - Beautifully installed Samsung Frame TV, with wires hidden through plaster. Thanks, Paul!

I reached out for a quote and received very rude and unprofessional responses. Not to mention I…read morereceived lies. In the very first message, I was told that they price match - but found out that's a lie. I provided custom plasma install with a lower quote from another company and custom plasma install's response was first "we can fix his work." And then when I said, I'm confused (because he didn't answer my question about price matching that) his response was "[competitor] is wrong on his pricing and must be desperate for work." A competitor quote was too low so they resorted to insulting the competitor. I do not want someone like that in my home.

There are so many well-reviewed TV installers in the Bay Area -- I would strongly recommend…read moreavoiding Paul and this company. Based on my experience, they don't come across as straight shooters or particularly trustworthy. Their rates are also 2 to 2.5 times higher than the next 10 top results on Yelp. Yelp should probably move them lower in their results given how few reviews they received in recent years. When I asked about the price difference, I was told the Frame TV is difficult to install and that they include a "lifetime warranty." The quotes I received from the other installers were all specifically for the frame TV. Reading other reviews on Yelp, it didn't seem like the lifetime warranty carried very much weight with them (Paul and Cary). In the end, the experience felt more like a bait-and-switch than a professional engagement. Maybe the quality of the work would have been fine -- but with so many reputable, fairly priced alternatives in the area, I'd strongly recommend going with someone else. Don't waste your time coordinating with Paul or Cary. I ultimately lost my deposit and could not even report them to the Better Business Bureau because they don't seem to exist outside of Yelp and Nextdoor.
