4 months ago We had the system activated as it was already installed in our new construction home. I explained from the beginning I was not worried about security but wanted to be able to monitor my home with cameras when I'm not home. They came out and activated the system so they could start charging me with no cameras because they were all on back order. The technician was supposed to follow up when they received the cameras to install. Month's later I receive mail notification, email and phone calls saying my account is past due for hundreds of dollars when we had been paying the monthly bill? So I called the company and they said it was for the cameras ...that I never received? They weren't aware I hadn't received them and said that technician was no longer with the company but they would send another technician to see where they are to be installed. We got Covid and they said they would reschedule and never did. Also, I can not use the alarm system when I'm not home because my small dogs set off the alarm. So I asked to cancel my account and they said I have to pay $2000 to get out of contract and I asked to speak to a Manager and they said all the Supervisors are in a meeting but that they will send me a cancellation form and balance owed of $2000 to close account and the VP will reach out. I have emails from a company representative requesting to close my account multiple times and they never once mentioned a cancellation form or amount due. I DO NOT recommend this company and will continue to let others know not to do business with this company that has no Customer service or provided a service. read more

I would caution anyone in dealing with this company. We had a contract for security services and asked to cancel since we were replacing all the windows and doing remodeling. There are no sensors left to monitor. I offered to pay them 3/4 of the balance of the contract, and they insist on getting every penny for a service they are no longer providing. All of the equipment was fully paid for so their is not amortization issue. I have other issues with the company's response to inquires yet this unfairness is enough for me to suggest caution- be careful what you sign - they will squeeze every penny. read more

We had a bumpy start with CPSS. We bought a home from Lennar with a panel already installed. I think it was an out of date panel personally but after some issues and calls we finally got good resolution. We now have a nice updated panel with a great app. Customer service has always been positive with no issues there. They worked hard to make it right after all parties agreed the panel was the issue. Got few quotes for HUNDREDS of $$$ to replace my existing alarm system to fit the monitoring companies system I approached. Called Crime Prevention, and had a new one installed at no charge, with $22 a month monitoring fee for 3 yr contract. Work was done next day. Sales person as well as installer were super nice . On 08/26/14 a put a below average rating for crime prevention security systems. Bobby called me the next day and worked expeditiously with Nick to resolve the issue. He explained to me why there was a problem and also stated that certain measures will be implemented to avoid circumstances like what happened to me to be repeated. I hope their monitoring is more responsive than their sales team. I left my contact info on their website and got an automated response that we would be contacted--never heard from anyone. Called their office to speak to someone in sales and was told that no one was available at that moment but a sales person would return my call before the end of the day. . .no one called back. Finally went to their office, met a "live" salesperson and made an appointment for them to come out and give us an estimate. The salesperson came out to the house and we asked them to email us the proposal. Well, it's been 6 days and we still haven't received anything! Guess they don't want or need anymore business...so don't waste your time trying to do business with them! read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars. This is the absolute worst company my husband and I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I am thankful that we never had a break in during our 3 years with them. I am not confident at all that there would have been a response. When we initiated service, it took this company MONTHS to get our address correct. I would call and provide them the correct address, my husband would call and provide them the correct address, and yet we would continue to not receive invoices because they had our address incorrect in the system. What would have happened if there was a break in?!?There is no option to do anything online, which is very inconvenient. Then, when we called to cancel service upon selling our home, we were told we had to wait for a form to be mailed to us that we would then have to fill out and return. This company is clearly living in the Stone Age. We followed these instructions and even called to confirm the form was received and that our service would be discontinued. We were told the form was received. 3 months later, we received a bill in the mail at our new address showing that we owed the last 3 months of service at an address we no longer lived at. My husband called and he was told that they didn't show our account as active or owing anything. There is a serious lack of communication some where. I will NEVER again use this company and I will be sure to spread the word on how terrible they are. read more

CPSS overcharged us while building our house with Ryland home. The security company charged us $1,750.00 for insulation 45.99 a month in a 5 year contract. We have been clients of this firm's Security Systems products for over 15 years. They can design systems to fit their customers' needs and budgetary constraints. We just had service on one of our products which was under warranty. The Technician was prompt, very knowledgeable (as one could expect in the 'old days' when 'Master' Technicians were confident and capable), informative, and friendly - taking extra time to insure we understood what was accomplished. When purchasing a security system it seemed important to have a firm with local roots to insure future maintenance issues can be handled quickly and with minimal hassle, and they have certainly met that need. read more

Our wireless smoke detector started malfunctioning after just two years--a monitoring agent called promptly after it went off (for no discernible reason), but, in spite of our protestations that it was a false alarm, she insisted on sending out a fire truck (which not so promptly got lost). What if we hadn't been home at the time--would the front door have been knocked down in the course of responding to this nonevent? After several frustrating phone calls (including one employee who speculated that the unit might have reacted to overheated wiring, which of course smoke detectors couldn't possibly do), I finally reached a technician who suggested that it might be build-up of dust (noting that this was not unheard of) and offered to send someone out (at only $90 for first 30 minutes) to diagnose (and try to fix) the problem. The original sales person had never, of course, mentioned the possibility of malfunctions or the possible need for recurring maintenance. Not wanting to throw good money after bad (and not caring to retain a monitoring (dis)service that chooses to disregard a clear directive from a customer), I instead demanded that they remotely disconnect the balky smoke detector from the panel, but the company refused to retrieve the now defunct unit or refund the $150 purchase price. On the whole, lousy customer service (supervisor never even bothered to respond to messages about this problem, though co-owner did call to try and explain their policies). read more
