The main parking lot in front has a drop off area for donations. You have enter the building and sign in before seeing the animals for adoption. There's a little gift shop in front and all the staff are super friendly. Most of the viewing areas are outside and not easily handicapped accessible. They have a newer facility across from the zoo, but this one you can tell is where the love started. Come visit and support please.

The costs are significantly lower than going to a private vet. Wednesday hadn't had her shots so they were included in the costs. The only thing extra I paid was for a nail trim which she desperately needed. I think I paid about $130 total. The website has clear instructions of what's required. We signed in just after 0730. The staff was pleasant and kind, we were asked to return between 1500 and 1600 to pick up our fur babies. The process was smooth & efficient. They gave clear discharge instructions and provided the needed meds. We are post op day 4 and she's healing well so far. She was high strung pre surgery and very chill now. I'm glad we went this route with her. This place was amazing.

Later, when they did have my dogs, they turned around and cited me for neglect. The citation wasn't based on cruelty -- it was because my larger dog was underweight. But he came to me that way after I rescued him from a hotel parking lot, and I was feeding him more than I even fed myself. The smaller dog was perfectly healthy. Living in a hot car with no A/C in Texas is what made it harder for him to gain weight, not lack of care. On a recorded call, an officer admitted this wasn't neglect, it was shared starvation, then suddenly changed his story and retaliated after I disclosed I was recording. This department doesn't support owners in crisis or prioritize animal welfare. Instead, they punish the people who are trying to do the right thing.

This clinic used to be great but it sucks now…read more We used them when our first dog was ill and needed to be put to sleep. They were caring , professional, kind and didn't require any exam or proof that this was the right decision for our dog. Today we had an appointment scheduled to put down our second dog for a variety of reasons that had led us to that decision. I was able to make the appointment no problem. It was confirmed that this is what the appointment was for. When I got there the nurse was very understanding and kind. But the vet came in questioning why we were looking into euthanasia and then proceeded to tell me she couldn't recommend it because my reasoning wasn't good enough. She also spoke in a way that blamed me for my dogs condition. I am no fan of having to euthanize an animal but I originally chose this clinic because of their understanding and kindness. Now they just hire vets who want to tell you you're wrong and not doing well enough. And then try to force medication and other procedures on you. You lost a customer today. What a great disappointment

Dr. Mcilhaney was one of the most caring and qualified veterinarians that I have ever encountered. A wonderful, caring gentleman. But since he left, it is an entirely different clinic - staffed by a revolving door of part time vets, of dubious levels of commitment, and with various different rude, uncommitted office staff that come and go every few months or so. They have cut down on their office hours and sometimes don't even open at all when apparently they can't even get one of their part-time vets to come in to work. As far as I know, none of my family are dealing with this train wreck anymore. RIP for what used to be a very good veterinary clinic.
