I have been here twice for alternative pain reduction methods. This location is clean and well maintained. I felt welcome and comfortable both time and had several nice conversations with the staff. They are very accommodating and relaxed. Scheduling has been easy. They did a great job of moving me from uncomfortable/uncertain to relaxed. The location is close to Merrifield / Dunn Loring metro station and there is parking. I went in for a v-steam because I dont have regular periods (usually 1 period every 6 months). I read online that this type of treatment usually ran about $60 and was supposed to help with balancing you're hormones. I originally called ahead and was told that it would cost $25 for 45 min. I was a little sketched out by the reviews and price but went ahead and made an appointment because it was cheap and there aren't many places in NOVA that offer it. PROS: -The place was clean and well decorated. It had a nice atmosphere. -Staff was friendly -Treatment was non evasive. CONS: -The place was under staffed. They had one lady running around doing everything. I came in at 1pm for my appointment and no one was at the front desk until 25 min later. -Staff was too busy for personalized care. (I sat on the herb blend for over 45 min because it didn't seem like there had been a timer set, and the lady never came to tell me it was over. I think she just got too busy and forgot about me.) -Staff gave conflicting information. (When I was ready to leave, I was asked if I was a Groupon client, I said no, and was told the total was $49.99. I guess its only $25 if you groupon but I wasn't asked over the phone if I was groupon or not, I was just told it would be $25) All in all, I would likely not return to this place. I didn't really feel any different afterwards and its been two weeks and there has been no change. Literally, all you you do is sit over a hot pot of herbs. Its like a sauna for your boobs down. Recent life challenges has made me seek natural alternatives. I've done extensive research on various treatment options and let me tell you, there are some really weird things out there. When I came across the V-Steam initially I was puzzled. I didn't know what the V actually stood for, nor did I know what the steam was for, but when I realized the meaning and the overall help it provided for women I was intrigued. Fast forward, after I've convinced all the women I know to at least try it once, and three of my favorite Yelpers to try it with me, I roll in HFH anxious and prepared for anything. First, I would like to acknowledge the sizable facility. HFH houses multiple services besides V-Steam: Cryotherapy, Colonics, Laserlipo, etc. in specified areas of the facility. There is a fairly large waiting room and each room is also sizable. The comfort point varies by individual. The walls are thin and noise can be heard from the front desk. Also, while the staffed seemed friendly enough, the young lady who helped with setting us up was neglectful. She basically put us in the room, told us to disrobe and don a heavy, top plastic gown. I had to track her down to find out the ingredients of the detox mix, then to follow up during a confusing moment during the treatment. The treatment was simple enough: a large pot of a detox mixture and boiling hot water sat under a large toilette seat covered in protective paper. Sounds strange? Yea, It felt strange, but I got over it and realized just how much sweat is produced during the treatment. Note: BRING WATER! I'm not sure if the faculty houses showers, but it would be a good idea to shower on location and bring a change of clothes. I bought a Groupon deal for a colonic, sauna, and some sort of turbo sonic trainer for $89.00. Here are my honest thoughts. The location is not ideal. It's on the second floor of an industrial building on Gallows road. The first floor is a dry cleaners and parts store. Don't park in the front or you'll get towed. Overall, this place had zero curb appeal and truly, I was really hesitant in going in. First impression of the reception is that it reminded me of an old grandmother's living room. The decoration was decidedly African kitsch with a mix of Asian. Odd combo, I know. But whatever. It was cluttered and a little too dark. I stood in the reception area for about 5 minutes until someone helped me. Sandra introduced herself and led me to the colonic room. I told her it was my first time. I'm not sure she was at all sympathetic or understanding because her instructions were curt. Insert this. Lie back. Scoot back. Here's a blanket. Etc.. I felt a little intimidated and overwhelmed with her instructions. Fast forward 20 minutes later I had enough. The colonic felt a little traumatizing and I am unsure that I got anything out of it. Next was the infrared sauna. First impression? Cheap looking sauna and the benches inside kept tilting over every time you stood up. It looked like a sauna that one would buy for their home. It looked out of place in a "spa" environment. The timer was for 30 minutes but I only stayed for 20. Next was the turbo sonic trainer which was a complete joke. Again I received no explanation. I was told to stand on two paper towels and bend my knees for maximum effect. I took some picture folks because I feel like one would feel a little scammed going into this place. This is a mom and pop place for sure. I am unsure of the qualifications of anyone that works here. It doesn't strike me as a legitimate business and I truly regret coming here. Love this place and have only been there for one visit! I researched Whole Body Cryosauna after seeing some information about it on CNN. Due to an auto accident I recently had, I was in need of some pain management and decided to try this Cryosauna/Cryotherapy. I have been once and it was absolutely exhiliirating. I will be back regularly for this therapy as I expect from my research that it will reduce the pain and muscle and joint aches quicker. I will update this review once I have seen more of a difference through additional sessions. I also believe there are other therapies at this clinic that will help me further and I plan to try those as well. The buliding sign says Help for Health Spa. As long as you go in with an open mind, you won't be disappointed. This is not a fancy day spa, but not their prices, either. I have been to many spas in my lifetime and many alternative therapy clinics. I would term this as more of the alternative therapy clinic, and they know what they are doing. The location, at least for me, is superb. Less than 5 minutes from work and 20 minutes from home. I highly recommend checking this place out. This place is so shady! the laser lipo machines look so tacky and cheap! The ladies that work there are all overweight. My first thought was if they claim that you can lose from 3/8 of an inch. to 3 inches in one treament, then how come we dont have skinny women working there? I was so skeptical since my first visit. Now all I can do is to go ahead just use all my treatments up. And hope that it will at least work even just a little bit. This is such a scam though. I really enjoy help for health. They have a vast selection of programs you can choose from! The best thing is they have Cryotherapy, which is the service that I've used them for! The staff here is very friendly! It can get a little busy, but they always make sure they take their time with each client to give them the best care possible! So keep that in mind if you have to wait a little. The welcome area has a very comfortable feel... And has a small selection of lovely teas and water you can choose from! I was definitely rethinking my decision to purchase the groupon after I read a couple reviews on here. I thought I was going to a medieval torture chamber or something... This facility is somewhere in-between an overseas industrial detox building (the kind where you stay for about a week) and a Day Spa. The exercise machines are some that I've seen in Korean spas, but I've never seen this type -- made in the USA! I wasn't sure what to expect for the colon therapy...just seemed scary and the photo posted here shows an uncomfortable looking machine, the one I had was more comfy looking to me. (I told the lady she should update the photos to show more of the equipment). I was so relieved to see the other colon therapy machine...it looks newer and less cold and hard. Kathy Fentress was the one who helped me and she explained everything and told me to RELAX! It took me a while, but I finally did. After the sauna I was done! I went in for a colon hydrotherapy appointment. I made the appointment online but still expected some sort of contact before my time. I received no information about how to prepare. When I got there, I found out it was a self-administered procedure. They did check in with me via intercom, but otherwise I was alone in the room. I suppose if you have done this before that might be fine. Since this was the first time for me, I had no reference. The room was stark and impersonal and the I left not feeling cared for - the opposite of what one usually expects at a "spa." I'll look for another place to get this service. read more

I bought a groupon for lipo laser and colonic. Overall I thought the experience was really pleasant, I've only been a couple of times as I'm still going through my set of lipo laser sessions. The colonic was great. Sandra set everything up and from then on I controlled it myself. Sandra was extremely nice and helpful. Very professional and checked in with me a couple of times. For lipo laser, I didn't know what to expect but, I think her name was karen or Kathy, clearly explained how it worked and the results. I'm half way through it and even though they've been inconsistent in measuring the results I can feel the difference. I also believe that part of this is due to having to increase your water intake and cutting sugar and. Carbs out of your diet. Couple of areas for improvement: - provide clearer instructions prior to first appointment as the receptionist (SJ?) was not clear and not very helpful. Everyone else is awesome but she doesn't smile and is not very service oriented. - maybe follow up with an email including instructions - measure after each appointment so I can see if there are any results - make sure you move the lasers after ten minutes, even after I rang the bell I waited at times 3 to 4 minutes for someone to move them. It might be ok but you hear about people getting burn marks so this just made me nervous. Overall, I think they are great. They don't treat you differently because you have a groupon. And I think Sandra is fantastic, always smiles even when it's crazy busy. Well worth checking out!! read more

I try the Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) exposes the body to ultra-low temperatures for just a few minutes. I must say it was really cold, to the point I was shaking but after that, I felt my skin softer due to the tightness and I felt with less pain in my body. Must had drank some the water while in the shower or from fruit without realizing it when on Tour in Peru. I bought a 30 mins. massage and 30mins facial from groupon, where they are listed as Eastern Sun Therapy. There were options like deep tissue and swedish massage, but the lady just started without asking. The massage was not professional but it was ok. The door was open and during the massage she kept talking with other women, and then one male customer too, I don't know whether he was able to see me or not( hope not). I dont know what materials they used for the facial, but to sum up it was a bad experience. She insised for tips but I didn't give any. read more

I purchased three sessions of Laserlipo through Groupon and saw no results whatsoever. The atmosphere is mediocre at best and the management is friendly. But if you're paying $200 for Laserlipo, one would expect some results. I am not a fat person at all but do have a little pooch/trouble spot that I would like to get rid of [only an inch of fat] and this treatment couldn't even do that much. They tell you to eat no carbs that week and exercise as well as drink half your body weight in water... Let me tell you. ANYONE who does that is destined to lose some weight. However it isn't long term and as soon as you being to eat normally you will revert back to your normal weight. FURTHERMORE if I wanted to get rid of my weight through diet and exercise I WOULD DO SO. Anyways, I feel like this whole experience was just a lesson to save my money and go get a massage or treat myself to a spa day instead. What a waste of time. I discovered Help for Health through groupon. I purchased one session of colon hydrotherapy. Recommendations: if is your first time do your research because you will do the whole process by yourself. A good thing is that It is private and you manage the process, flow, etc. However, it could be a little scary because you may not feel comfortable doing it by yourself or you do not know what to expect, if it is right or wrong, etc. They give you several papers were you need to release them from any responsibility. Second they give a brief explanation of how to use the machine and that is where prior education plays a huge role. I read and watched several youtube videos so I had an idea of what to expect. The process is very easy and you turn on and off the machine. I am someone who has chronic aches and pains and was told I should try Cryotherapy. After trying it once, I got the best sleep I've had in a while, so I bought a package of 10 Cryo sessions for $280. It claims to help with weightloss, but I haven't seen any change in that department yet. But every body is different and may react differently. What I have seen a change in is my body is in significantly less pain. I can get through my workouts better, my range of motion has improved, I wake up with less stiffness and I'm sleeping better. I'll take those results over quick fix weightloss any day. The owner, Kathi, is fantastic and super knowledgable. I could talk to her all day about holistic health and healing.
