They informed me of the process and what their job was as well as legal information regarding serving. When it came to serving, my case was a pain in the ass and the defendants literally hid. As a landlord with the tenant from hell, i had the paperwork done, i's dotted and t's crossed. I met up with Henry and Latoya and they started trying to serve the worst tenant ever. She had her front door open wouldn't come to the door. She barricaded the gate, she tried filing a false report with the sheriff but through it all Henry was dogged. He didn't give up and made at least ten attempts, without breaking the bank.He is very knowledgeable about the laws and did everything legal. Help-U-Serve is a process server company run by partners Henry and Latoya. Good process servers are actually not that easy to locate with a web search, and I feel lucky that I found them. And having to serve legal papers is a real pain, but Henry and Latoya somehow made it totally painless. I first called and spoke to Henry (who does the serving) and he told me that Latoya (who does the admin) would get back to me very shortly. Well, Latoya called me back within 5 minutes, and Henry was at my door within the hour to pick up my papers. I was on a tight deadline, but Henry came through and sent me an email confirmation that the serve was completed. Henry and Latoya run a very polite, very efficient company. They got the job done and were very responsive with me throughout the whole process by both phone and E-mail. The only thing worth noting is that I think they might have gotten the deadlines for service mixed up. According to my county's official website, the defendant needed to be served 25 days before the hearing date, but for some reason, they said the deadline was 20 days. They served the defendant a day or two past the 25-day deadline, but there weren't any objections from the court. read more

I've had to use process servers before on a couple of occasions. I was always left feeling like they just didn't care enough to put much effort into the service. They were never completed in less that 5 to 7 days and once, it didn't happen at all. I picked Help-U-Serve because they are close to where I live and had good yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. Henry, made arrangements to meet my attorney within an hours of talking to him, and because this was a rush, he jumped on it immediately. He didn't just do a drive by to see if the person was home, he parked on the street and waited. The whole thing was over in 3 hours. The thing that struck me the most was that he understood the sensitive and difficult nature of the situation - which was delivery of a TRO. I also appreciated that he let me deal with the payment part after he took the job. He put me in touch with Latoya after he met with my attorney. Lastly, I think this experience proves that going with a regional or state wide company that serves anywhere you want and does all business by email or fax just doesn't give the same kind of service that someone local does. read more

I had to have 3 defendants served for a small claims court case; all of whom were very difficult to locate. Henry was able to track them down and got the job done! Not only that, he also served them via substituted service to cover all grounds. His partner Latoya provided me with copies of the Proof of Service paperwork and even went the extra mile to file them at the courthouse, saving me a trip. Help U Serve, LLC is the best process server in the bay area. I had a complicated federal lawsuit that needed to be served to three defendants asap. They managed to serve them all the same day soon after I sent payment. As you can see they are very busy and it might take a full day to hear back from them, but they are very reliable and professional and wont let you down. This team goes above and beyond. When my simple serve didn't work out they refunded my money. I came back and authorized a stake out serve at a very reasonable flat fee rate. It turned out to be far more time consuming and difficult than we anticipated because the parties were working hard to avoid the serve.
