Finding myself with another one I limped for weeks before I finally decided to get it fixed. I was stressing for the week beforehand. Another yelp review said dr. Kochhar did a "painless" job which I didn't believe. Had the procedure this morning. Virtually PAINLESS indeed. I've had flu shots that hurt more. She did a wonderful job. She also helped me with a plantar fasciitis issue last year as well. My advice?? Don't wait. Let dr. Kochhar

I had been to another podiatrist who made orthotics that were just like the bottom of a regular shoe. $400 and useless. Maybe don't go to Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates. Dr Kocchar's orthotics, the PT she referred me to, and the time she took to figure out my problem are remarkable. She's kind, understanding, talented, and encouraging when I felt so hopeless. Aside from being a wonderful doctor, she understands that women have footwear needs that are different from men's. From that perspective, she made orthotics suggestions so I don't have to wear sneakers with suits and skirts for the rest of my life. If I were having kids I'd name my first born after her (regardless of it's gender). The office staff are wonderful too. I felt like everyone really cared about my pain and getting me better. You should totally go to Dr Kochhar. She's a miracle worker.

My quality of life was as poor as it had ever been, in 59 years. I went to the Olympia Orthopedics Walk-In clinic TWICE, and saw one of their "specialists" as well. They did NOTHING for me, other than give me an air cast that doesn't fit and that I was never able to even hobble around in. Finally, after a weekend of literally writhing in pain, and barely able to even get from my bed to the bathroom (with crutches!) I called Foot & Ankle Associates on the Westside of Olympia (where I live). It was meant to be. They had a cancellation that afternoon and got me right in. I saw Dr. Casey Bowles and I am so impressed by his knowledge and compassion that I would recommend him to ANYONE! His assistants are top-notch as well! After examining, he told me that it was plantar faciitis in both feet, tendonitis, and I have unusually high arches. It's actually pretty amazing that it's taken this long for my feet to basically say "enough!" He gave me an injection in each foot (which I was terrified of) and he made it as tolerable as possible. The next day was the FIRST day in I don't know how long that I woke up pain free. I nearly cried from the relief. I went back a week later for another set of shots (one of my feet was starting to get grumpy again), and in two weeks I'll go back for a third, but only if I need it. He said that many people often are cured with just 2 shots. He also shaped and installed some arch supports on my shoe insoles...already I can tell that they are going to make a huge difference for me. Again, Dr. Bowles and his staff are the BEST! Plus, at the risk of sounding like a dirty old lady, he's quite easy on the eyes as well! LOL

Updating after a couple more visits with Dr. Bowles…read more Things got better, there were a lot fewer red flags after that first visit. Communication is a trick, but if I did a bunch of prep and acted as confident as him, he listened better. He was disarmed once we started talking about barbecue, maybe that's a pro tip? Based on my experiences, I hope he finds a job he likes better! ALL THAT SAID! I'm still seeing him because he does three big things I have really wished for with other docs: *He advocated for non-surgical options and seemed to really consider the impact surgery would have on my life. *He was comfortable being direct with bad news and even leaned in to help me interpret bad news in plain language so I could understand what it meant for my daily life. *He seems to use realistically low expectations for how much behavior/lifestyle change people are actually going to do in the long term. His delivery can feel a little insulting and he might underestimate patients sometimes, but now that I know that I can be clear about the places I know I'm ready to put in the work. Tl;dr, Much better experience, but still I have to put in a lot of work and strategy to get my needs met.

No one in the office measured or recorded these during my visits. I also found that the appointment notes described detailed conversations that did not occur. I was very troubled by the extent of the discrepancies in my medical records and lost confidence in the accuracy of the documentation provided by this office
