I found Anthony a long time ago via Groupon, and am so happy that my search for an amazing massage therapist is over! He takes his time and listens to your needs/aches, offers advice for improvement and heals with those hands! Always has the most chill music playing, has a heated massage table. Ask for the weighted blanket! He's truly gone above and beyond during covid to make his customers feel safe. Temp/oxygen checks, hand sanitizer and a fresh mask for you to wear during the appt. He even has a plastic shield that goes over your head (doesn't touch you) when you're laying face up and he's massaging your neck/shoulders. So fancy! In terms of attitude, Anthony is very welcoming, hard working, and professional. In terms of the massage, I've enjoyed relaxing full body massages with firm touch. But the massage can be whatever you want, since you fill out a form at your first visit indicating your preferences and Anthony begins each session asking if anything has changed. True, you're not getting the glitz and glam of one of those Waikiki hotel spas, but the massage is the same quality at a reasonable price and you don't have to deal with the mess of driving into Honolulu and find parking. read more

My name is Peterson and I am writing this review because of the amazing experience I had at Helpful Massage & Body. I traveled to Hawaii for work and I always try to get in a few miles before I start my day. During this particular trip I was training for a major run with a Running Group my Wife and I created back home in NYC. On one of my training runs in Hawaii, my legs felt like I was carrying a ton of bricks. I stretched during the run and that wasn't enough. I decided to look for someone that could help me with not just giving basic massage but also, is able listens and address my actual concerns. I was staying in Waikiki and decided to make my way to Helpful Massage and Body, because it was close to Laniki beach. I figured either way it would be a win/win. Prior to my actual session, Anthony had reached out and provided a very detailed directions. On what to do upon my arrival. Once I arrived I was greeted by Anthony who was amazing guy all around. I filled out the release and ailment form which he actually read and then discussed my issues and concerns with me during the warm up session. We discussed my issues in detail and he even offered several pieces of advise. The massage was phenomenal, which is why I am writing this review. After the massage I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening and then boarded my flight home to NYC that evening. I landed at in JFK at 7:00AM EST and was able to go run lead a run with my running group by 8:00Aam. Anthony was able to work the muscles and gave me some fresh legs to run in. Anthony is a master of the art of massage. He provides a truly therapeutic experience. I was on vacation in Honolulu, and booked massages for myself and my sister-in-law. We were both skeptical about trying a male massage therapist, but agreed that we had the best massages ever! It could be partly that men have more strength in their hands, and therefore can provide a deeper tissue therapy. At any rate, Anthony's goal is to truly help people and not to just make them feel good. He asked about my issues - one of which was computer strain. I agree with a previous reviewer who called Anthony's technique "intuitive." While he does take time to ask about particular concerns beforehand, he also has what he calls a "conversation" with your body as he works so he can tell what areas need more attention.
