This time, a frumpy old woman "helped us" out the door. Literally. She was SUPER negative, using phrases like "We won't have anything you'll like" and "We keep all of our diamonds locked up in the back so nobody steals them" as if we were there to steal from them. We had cash in hand and she wouldn't even take the time or energy to show us anything, as if we were trash and wasting her time. I won't EVER go back to Denney. At first, I was immensely pleased! They gave me a fair price and even got me my ring way faster than they initially quoted me. But then about a month later, my ring cracked all the way through where they cut it to resize it. I brought it back in and they repaired it for free. But then again in December (another 1 month out from repair) the same thing happened again! They repaired it for free once again. But I'm really not sure why it was not repaired fully last time. Not to even mention the rudeness of a couple of the staff members and the lack of knowledge about jewelry the others have. The woman who helped me the second time complimented me on my gem, "I love the sapphire" The gem is blue sandstone. Would not expect her to know that it was sandstone but that it ISN'T sapphire. I'm putting that one on poor training and management. Overall, my experience has been less than ideal and if my ring breaks again, I'll probably just have to shell out money to a competent jeweler. Took an engagement ring in that had a stone falling out of the setting. We simply asked for options…read more- what are you capable of doing to fix it and what price for each option. The ring was designed just how we liked it, with a raised swirl around the top, holding the diamonds in between the ridges. He said he needed to look at it under his lens, and took it to a back room. A while had passed and we got antsy, as he wasn't coming back, so we told another employee we needed the ring and had to leave. He brings it back a few minutes later and has already made the change without so much as consulting or asking if it was ok. He took the stones out of the swirled settings and just added four prong settings on top of them. There goes the unique look and beauty of the ring. There were plenty of rings that looked like that in the store. I did NOT choose them, I chose this one because we loved the design. Absolutely no reason he couldn't have added two prongs inside the swirl to hold them, or simply tell us he couldn't fix it the way we wanted and we would have taken it somewhere else happily. At the time we literally could not wait as we were moving off the continent that week. We told them we could not give it to them to fix (not that we trusted them any longer anyways) and they did not charge us as a "courtesy" (as if we asked for the service). Now we have a ring that isn't what we chose, and will have to pay to have someone else fix his mistake. Hopefully it can go back to the beautiful settings it started with. Never modify someone's property without their knowledge or permission.
